  1. I don't we'll ever get to watch the series finale, because of the writer's strike. At best, we'll get it in a straight to DVD release. Bummer.
  2. ^^I heard that, too. Pero nagulat ako nun sinabi na tickets will be on sale as early as February sa Araneta Ticketnet. So, I asked a friend to go there (taga Cubao lang kasi, haha) and ask around. So, let's just wait and see pag dating ng Feb. Baka nga... Sana nga. Haha.
  3. I think the main problem people have with Chicosci is that they change playing styles faster than they change girlfriends, hehe. While they've garnered accolades for this, people have also shyed away from them dahil parang, "ano na ba tugtugan niyo ngayon?" During the kupaw era, they released Revenge of the Giant Robot, which if you were already entrenched in the kupaw scene 4 years before (about '96 or '97) its rise, alam mo na Deftones ang ginagaya nila. And I know for a fact, Miggy is a big Chino Moreno fan. Liste to RotG, maririnig mo talaga 'yun White Pony vibe. Other than that, elements of thrash is also evident. Anthrax, Pantera, and Soulfly are also obvious influences of the album. And the look during this era was the standard kupaw code, loose shirts, loose pants, and lots of body piercings. The funny thing was when they switched to a post- hardcore sound for Method of Breathing, ang sumikat lang 'yun Paris. Eh sa totoo lang, 'yun lang 'yun parang kakaiba sa MoB, lahat halos reminiscent of Glassjaw, the songs Rolento, Glass is Broken comes to mind. And the look basically remained the same from before. Pagdating ng Icarus, well, parang MoB extended version lang, haha. Except more chug- chug riffage, and pounding beats from the rhythm section. Parang cross between post and screamo eh. Finch, GJ, Head Automatica ganun. Pero kadire talaga 'yun Shallow Graves, haha. Tapos ngayon, 'di ko maintindihan eh. Haha. MCR unang- una kitang- kita, sa A Promise at sa pananamit (at least last year). This year, it's more of a scene get- up eh, Mong and Calde definitely get their style from GJ or even the AAR (baston with AF1s? san ka pa, haha). Pop with an edge. 'Yun na yun. Haha. I think Koski has managed to stay this long (10 years and counting), because walang pretensyon sa kanila. And that they truly are great to their followers. I was fortunate enough to have been asked to tag along last year at their 10th anniversary party in Metrowalk, and man I've been to alot of parties by bands for their fans, but I've got to say that was one of the best I've been to. Marunong silang magpasalamat ng alam mong totoo eh. Marunong din sila makisama ng tunay eh, san ka pa, pupunta talaga sila pag inimbita sila, kahit na 'di kagandahan 'yun lugar (err, 'di pala talaga maganda! Haha), at magste- stay to party all night talaga -- this I've seen in Calamba two years ago. Parang it's either you love Koski or hate Koski eh. But I'm sure even with that said, wala pa rin silang pakialam, they just do their thing.
  4. Can anyone post any pictures of Paramore, or even just an individual member rocking TWLOHA merch. Thanks thanks!
  5. You're one lucky bastard, haha. You saved around $50 pare! The shirt is $20 (22 actually with the taxes), and S&H would have set you back another 15-25$ haha. Swerte. Is it a BayIsland shirt ba (Hot Topic prints their designs on various plain tees kasi)? If it is, pop it in the dryer (pero syempre wash it muna, haha) for a short while! Uurong ng onti pare! Ayos 'yun fit haha. That's what I do with most of my shirts, kasi american sizing is a lil different for u Flips eh. Their medium is okay with me with the width and all, pero medyo may problem with the length. So pag na dryer, maganda na tabas. Haha.
  6. I think they ran a new printing of it, parang white cover 'ata, 'di ko lang alam kung nailabas sa Pinas. The one I have kasi is the old 1990 printing eh. You shipped it over? How much S&H? Must have cost a ton, pare.
  7. Check out Gaiman's late 80's release with Terry Pratchett, Good Omens. British fiction at its best.
  8. I love old, soulful, country- tinged songs, so I love Fleetwood Mac's Landslide (the Smashing Pumpkins did a great cover of this, too). Well, Ive been afraid of changing cause Ive built my life around you But time makes you bolder Children get older Im getting older too And since I mentioned the Pumpkins, I just can't not share the lyrics from Siamese Dream's Disarm I used to be a little boy So old in my shoes And what i choose is my choice What's a boy supposed to do? The killer in me is the killer in you My love I send this smile over to you *go weeps in a corner* haha!
  9. Same here! I was actually laughing while watching the news. It's not that I'm not nationalistic or something (I have a Philippine flag/ crest on my arm), but I think people are overreacting. It was a jab at us, sure. But that didn't it was bad. It was meant in a witty way, not in a degrading manner. Hell, if potshots like that aren't allowed, we'd all be living in a boring world. I'd understand the reaction if the show was a social commentary, but no, it was done in a satirical show, now that's funny. If someone from social commentary gave us flak, we should react definitely, but this was a different situation. Laught it off, it's not the first nor will it be the last time we'll hear potshots thrown at us.
Mayroon ako nun 5 song EP nila, trip ko yun Who We Are. Typecast naman, nakikinig na ako The Infatuation is Always There pa lang. Paborito kong cuts nila Clutching, Another Minute til Ten at Phoenix. Steady din 'yun Every Moss..., kaso parang biglang sikat sila 'dun eh. Tapos alam lang ng tao yun Will You Ever Learn at The Boston Drama. Badtrip 'yun eh.
  11. Yep. Slip ons, no skools, Rowley XLIIIs, and oldskools. Haha. I have more. Those are just my favorite for the time being Haha. I dunno why, but we love our shoes, yes we do. ^__^
