tbh Paramore seem a bit crap now. I mean, RIOT! was amazingly medicore. It's success FAR outweighed its lack of substance. AWKIF was great. It was a rock record. Misery Business was good for the first two listens. They can't even put on an energetic live show anymore. Well, at least Hayley and Zac put some effort in. Every interview ith them is the same boring stuff. They are soooo over exposed its unbelievable. I used to get excited seeing them in the press, now I don't even bother reading most of the stuff. They are seen as a family-friendly, safe-as-it-gets band with very little credibility. When I saw them there were a few too many 12 year old girls. Not that music should alienate people, it just feels like they are becoming a Disney band lol. Their association with Twilight has done nothing to help this. I used to want to represent them. Now I would be embarassed to wear a Paramore shirt. Don't get me wrong- as people they are still great. But music wise, it's hard to get past the fact that they've become a teenage girls band. I mean, now they are all colour coded outfits and doing shit interviews for teenage girls magazines. It's crap!! Anyone else feel the same? (Yes I am aware I'm gonna get a load of "How dare you!"s and shit, but I'm allowed to have opinions, and I know people that agree with me)

So.... thinking about this, it's apparent that this has only become a problem with age. I'm leaning towards Josh's side (although if Hayley sucks, why did they date? If the situation sucked, why wait 3 albums? etc.) but, as has been said, they were KIDS when this all started. They probably didn't know any better. Yeah, I think it's just said that what so many kids probably saw as the first "genuine" band they got into isn't really that way. And for all of those saying "Yeah but they still played small shows etc.", this was planned. This could have been prevented if they'd just come out swinging as a major label act. But, at the end of the day, Hayley is a fucking cash cow that's gonna be milked dry- she's a business dream. A cute, religious-but-not-overtly, young girl that manages to upstand all of America's moral values whilst wearing the right band tees to wear on a Warped stage and a face pretty enough to whore all over TV and magazines. Fuck, a label would be stupid NOT to take advantage of her. Nonetheless, they are all talented individuals and I wish them all the best, but let's not get too heated about it. It's just a band...

Okay, call me "crazy", but I seem to remember reading somewhere about Paramore being somewhat manufactured... I'm not saying this in any disrespectful way- just interest. But I even remember a mod on this very board not denying it, and saying there might be reason to believe it. Something about Hayley having a record deal when she was younger and having the band built around her? Sounds kinda odd....but I've just listened to the 2004 demos....sounds nothing like Paramore. Sounds like Avril/The Veronicas...and are stupidly high quality. Just makes me wonder if they really did start out like all other bands... If this thread gets closed for "speculation" then that's silly. I'm just curious seeing as I do clearly remember this being said in a fair few places...

THE PLOT THICKENS

The problem is that, whatever they do, there will be thousands of people watching and scrutinising it. So yeah, I see them maybe doing writing for films etc, or maybe the other side of the music business. Anyway, guess I should offer my thanks to Josh and Zac for being huge inspirations and being part of the band that got me into the music I love know. Forever grateful.

Wish these dudes the best in the future. Maybe this is a good thing. Josh and Zac could do musical stuff (although I think Zac could go the role of enginerr or producer) and Paramore will carry on- 2 musical awesomes!!

If you want to book us a show and pay for us to get there lol But, honestly, when we can, we will.
