  1. Has this been resolved? I can provide some alternatives or help you resize your photo to fit. Better yet, I could probably increase the size limit.
  2. No it's not Paramore. Sounds like a female-fronted band, but not Paramore.

  5. Always better to start early. The process (in the US) can get really drawn out. You don't know how many times I see friends put it off until last minute and scramble to get it done. Also save money on photos by taking them yourself for your passport. I've always done that. And the one time I didn't, the photo came out way worse than if I would have taken it myself lol so save the money and take your own photos, just make sure they meet the requirements.
  6. While I agree and always bring my passport with me, I can see why this would be different. The ship won't stop in any real country. NCL's private island is really like a sand barge with trees, a stage, bar, volleyball net, and umbrellas, all which are unloaded off the ship once you arrive. There's no customs. You are tendered from the ship to the island and you go to the beach for a day. The only ID needed on the island would be your room key which you use to scan in and out of the ship. But to be safe, of course, taking a passport for going through check in before getting on the ship in Miami would be ideal. But it would likely be the only place where it would be needed, if at all. But I always do the "well if the ship ends up sinking or something and needs to stop in port for an emergency, in the Bahamas, there are so many countries owning major islands that if the ship decides to dock there if it couldn't make it back to Miami right away, it would be handy to have your passport." But 99% of the time, of course, that doesn't happen. But I am never one to take those chances
  7. Glad to hear that. I'm a massive Disney fan as well. Can't get enough of the parks. Always wanted to go on their cruise line, but was worried if it catered too much towards children and not enough to adults.
  8. Ah, Disney is one of the cruise lines I haven't been on yet. I'd love to go on Disney, though. Not just a huge Disney fan, but also a fan of the amazing horn sounds on their ships haha. As for passports, last time I went on NCL on a similar route and went to this specific island, I needed a passport as a caution because we will be going through international waters. But there are no other planned stops, so I suppose we wouldn't need it, but in case of emergency and having to dock at an island owned by another country, passports would be needed. Even cruising in Hawaii, I needed my passport, and that only goes between islands within Hawaii, which is (of course) part of the United States. So it varies, but always handy to have. But then again, it might be a requirement, but every cruise is different for whether you need it or not.
  9. The majority of profit made by cruise lines is on booze. I'd be extremely surprised if there isn't any alcohol on the ship. The Pearl has so many bars, anyway, gotta put them to use. Unless they decide to just automatically charge a much higher rate for the rooms or something instead? But I can't imagine cruising without alcohol. I'm an avid cruiser, but never did a band cruise before. So all my advice and expertise is only based on traditional cruising. Any tips for band cruises would be greatly appreciated around here to cover anything I'm not familiar with!
  10. No idea what airline I'm taking yet. I'm waiting until after I officially purchase for the cruise to look into that. I can answer that for you, Catie. Food and drinks ARE included, but not everything is free. For example, soda and alcohol cost money (which is billed to a credit card through your room key). This is how cruises make a bulk of their money. All meals are also included for free, except if you want to dine at a specialty restaurant. There's usually 2 main dining restaurants on the ship for dinner (think semi-formal, classy). There's also a buffet that does breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I think a midnight snack. Then there's also a 24 hour diner-like comfort food restaurant. Those are all free. Oh, and free popcorn and ice cream in various places around the ship. The specialty restaurants, like hibachi (teppanyaki as well as other asian cuisines), steakhouse, french, brazilian, and other exotic, ethnic restaurants are all separate and are paid for individually (through your room key, as always). Hope that answers your question! It's a really good deal, if you're wondering. Which is why everyone jokes about gaining 10 pounds after going on a cruise. The amount of free unlimited food is great. All amazing quality as well. Fantastic chefs. NCL has my approval for food. The specialty restaurants as well. Worth the money and not overpriced. But if you just want free food, it's all amazing quality. No skimping on good service and food in any restaurant, free or paid.
  11. You could do a balcony stateroom with 4 people, or do a much smaller studio room for 2 people that will cost less anyway. The cost would probably be about the same. It all depends on preference.
  12. Cruises operate on a double occupancy concept. What this means is that the first two people pay for the full cost of a room. Then any additional people pay half. For example, if you want a family balcony stateroom, it's roughly $1400. So if two people book it, they each only pat $700. With me so far? But if you want 4 people in the room (which by the way, is no fun. It's more cramped than you can imagine, but you don't spend much time in your room other than sleeping, so it's tolerable), the first two people pay $700 each, and then any additional people pay half of what one person pays. So it looks like this: Person 1: $700 Person 2: $700 Person 3: $350 Person 4: $350 and so on... So it's cheaper to have multiple people in one room, but I wouldn't recommend more than 3-4 per room. Unless you want to get to know your friends in a much closer way than you ever imagined haha. NCL has extremely tiny rooms. The smallest I've seen. And I've never done more than 4 people in a family stateroom, and that was no fun. So just keep that in mind EDIT: Oh, and forgot to say, I'll be going. Any other PFers joining me?
  13. The PFC was definitely a popularity contest of who was a better fan, people parading how many shows they have been to, etc. at times. I got that vibe a lot. It wasn't as welcoming and inviting to people. We will always try to be welcoming to everyone here. We are very self-aware, which I don't think many people on the PFC were. The last thing we want is to make people feel unwelcome or have people shy away from speaking up and chatting. But yeah, most people moved to twitter and tumblr and such and that's totally fine. It's a very convenient new way of communicating real fast and easy. But for those who want to say more than just a quick blurb of text will always be welcome here. It definitely won't get as busy as before since that was a different time in the Internet when many people went to forums for stuff. But I don't think they are no longer needed, just used for different purposes now. We certainly won't let the activity change affect our commitment to providing a place for fans to chat, get news, share media, and make new friends.
  14. PF has been a longer lasting and free community for a while. I hope PFC members realize that we can be what they need. If they want topless admins or something to get their interest, I will take off my shirt while posting. Look how exciting and wild and crazy we can be! And in a good way. Not like wild and crazy in a batshit ridiculous failure to contact members, send merch on time, etc. I was only partially serious about that last paragraph. But if people want a community to chat and scheme and get together to make lifelong friends, it has always been there for them. For free. We might not be able to get them meet and greets and stuff, but neither can the PFC anymore lol so wee look at us go. Maybe we'll do a contest once one of us can afford to buy extra merch to give away, or stumbles across old rare items we have collected over the years that we feel like parting ways with. We live on the edge. Who knows what we'll do next. Look out, world!
  15. Hey Jordi, great covers! Thanks for sharing them. Welcome to PF!
  16. I voted for (One of those) Crazy Girls, but I also love Last Hope. I just think Crazy Girls is a little more radio-friendly.
  17. Hey Chriss, I never was contacted about the delay or given anything as compensation for the delay. I'd love to have the b-sides songs digitally. Who can I talk to about this? I don't see any download or access on the FBR webstore on my account. Just the digital download for 'Now'.
  18. I'll admit I was a little on edge about the album at first. Given, I have not listened to it much up until today so that the release day could be a little more memorable. So my exposure was basically only one listen through during the 4 sides 4 nights stuff. But after listening to it while at the release party, being around the band and seeing how happy they were, and all that they got through to get to this point, it just made me appreciate the album even more. After listening to it nonstop for the last 24 hours, I definitely love it. Love it, love it, love it. Although I still have gripes about cutting corners with some lyrics, and other very minor things, it's still a great accomplishment. I really like the genres they tip-toed in. It really makes the album full of some great music for everyone. The release party was by far one of my favorite Paramore experiences of all time. I'll never take that for granted. It just helped me realize how much better the album was and that I was being a little too critical before because I have such huge expectations for a band I respect so greatly. I was putting too much pressure on what the album could be because every other album has been so incredible, how do you top perfection? But after throwing out the anxiety and worry and just started enjoying the music (maybe the atmosphere at the party helped a little, and being with other close friends from here), it all just clicked. I get it now.

    Hi all :)

  20. Was this taken from Paramore's website or something? Or did you post it yourself?
