I don't think I actually know anyone who uses Gmail... everyone went crazy for it when it came out, but then got bored. I've seen hundreds of bots try register on a forum I'm an admin at and I would say 98% were gmail, 2% were like russian emails Kind of crap really how Gmail can't stop bots from registering email accounts. SalsaC Posted October 16, 2009 Report Share Posted October 16, 2009 Goes to show how captcha-esque precautions aren't enough to stop bots...not like they are a real threat right now anyway, mods seem to be pretty fast in squishing them. Hackers are usually one step ahead of the anti-hackers, so it doesn't surprise me that even Google is powerless. On another note, I don't think I've ever gotten bored of my email. Either admins aren't confirming accounts anymore, or they're doing a crappy job of checking accounts. No offence. Id came up with the idea of having to confirm new members and Hayley got added up as another Admin to help with it. It worked at first but i dont know what on earths been going on lately.
