According to an interview that Hayley recently did with UOL.com in Brazil, Paramore will be bringing Josh Freese and Justin York on their South American tour to fill in on drums and lead guitar.

Here's the link to the interview:

Here it is translated (thanks to unfolias on LiveJournal):

UOL music: Josh and Zac have recently left the band. Can you tell us what happened?

Hayley: Honestly, they said they weren't happy. So they decided, a few months ago, they'll leave the band. And we said: 'alright!'

UOL: Who will replace them in the SA tour?

H: At the moment, we' got Taylor's brother, who had already replaced Josh. He will tour with us playing the guitar and doing Josh's parts. On the drums we will have Josh Freese.

UOL: What are your expectations for the SA tour?

H: We are just happy to be back. It's been two years since we last came here and we were anxious to come back, but we never really did find time to return. So we're excited, because some of our coolest fans live there, we always chat with them through the internet. I think it will rock (?). We will show the fans that we're still here, we're still able to put on a good show and we really appreciate our fans support.

UOL: What will you play over here? (i think he means which songs will they play)

H: The setlist will be similar to the HCT one, which happened in America in the middle of this year. It's one of the biggest shows we've done, we can interact with the crowd a lot and there is a good mix of musics from all our albums.

UOL: You've been playing with your band since you're 16 years old and now you're 22. What's the most valuable lesson that you've learned during these years?

H: You simply have to be happy and love what you do. We're lucky that we have our fans as our family. We never really felt that we were in the big stage, we were always at their level. They [the fans] really understand what we are going through when we write a song. We thank a lot for that. We're one of those lucky bands that can travel through the whole world and have the support of so many fans.

UOL: BNE was released this last year. What can you tell us about that work and its lyrics?

H: I'd say that I still agree with all that I said when making BNE. I've learned a lot about people, growing and how your heart reacts to different things in life. Sometimes, it reacts in a awful way and you have to pass through it all with a sense of gratitude. I thank everything that we went through as a band. I'm happy about everything, even in the hard times, because life isn't only about being in a band, life's about you turning into the person that you'll be proud of and reaching people at that level. You have to show them there's still hope. For me, BNE was an opportunity to show people that, even in the hardest times, we are still faithful and there's still something good in the world. It's uncommon to fell that way, so we hope that people can listen to our CD and fell what we want to transmit.

UOL: It all that's been happening, what will the future of paramore?

H: We've started to write musics and new ideas. Taylor, Jeremy and I are very excited for the future. We know it's a big step for us. Going through this isn't easy, but that won't stop us. We owe that to our fans, because if we didn't have them, we wouldn't even be here today. If we stopped now, it would be disrespectful to all those that believe in us.

UOL: Have you started to record anything yet?

H: We hope to do that in the next year [2011], we will prepare them as fast as we can, because we are really inspired at the moment. We aren't sure about those songs yet (?), but we are ready to move forward and we're happy about that.

UOL: Are there any plans to replace Josh and Zac?

H: Obviously, when we get on the next tour that will have to be decided, but, at the moment, we fell stronger than ever. That's inspiring us. Us 3 will do what's the best for our band now and, in the future, we will see who we're going to find to help us on tour.

We all know Justin York's abilities, since he toured with Paramore early last year, but if you've never heard of Josh Freese, just watch this video.

Josh Freese has played studio drums on over 300 albums, haha. Here's his discography if you're not familiar with him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Freese_discography

Besides NIN, he's a member of A Perfect Circle, The Vandals, Devo, and he tours with Weezer. I don't think he'll have any problems playing Paramore's music. To be as good as him, you have to be well-versed in multiple genres. :P

Here's one of him playing with The Vandals. Maybe the NIN example wasn't a great one to include. Dude is an incredible drummer!

Obviously they'll have to find a permanent drummer after the tour, but as far as the current tour goes, Josh Freese will easily be able to handle Paramore's drumming. A bit of an unexpected move, but I guess they didn't have much time before the tour, so they just hired a good, well known session drummer for the duration of the tour, or at least to start the tour until they find a permanent replacement.

I think they know Josh Freese a little from festivals this past year, since he's been touring with Weezer and both bands have played a lot of the same festivals. It was definitely unexpected though. When I read it, I announced it to everyone at work, haha. It's only a ten day tour, so they probably just asked him out for that, since they'll be writing for the rest of the year. And you're right. He can absolutely handle the drumming.

^ I noticed it too, but the person who translated it's first language is Spanish, so it didn't bother me. If they didn't translate it, I would've had to get a translation from Google that wouldn't have made any sense in English. :P

I think that they did a goog choice.. well Justin York toured with them in the past [when Josh was planning his wedding] and he has a little experience with this. I looked on Josh Freese's wkipedia paga and I saw that is catalogated as a good drummer [and he has a lot of experiences in music]. Well I thinked about Jon and I think that he woud be a great MEMBER for Paramore. I don't know if this would happen but I hope :)

Looking at Josh's discography he's played drums on several albums I listen to and I'm sure he'll be able to handle Paramore's songs as he's played for quite a range of genres.

Good to hear Justin's back, ever since the announcment was made about Josh & Zac it seemed he would be one of the first choices to fill in again, if not join on a full term basis.

2011 looks good :D

Remember though that Taylor and Josh switched off on the lead guitar parts for Brand New Eyes, so Taylor will still play some lead (Brick By Boring Brick is the first song that comes to mind). When you've been playing certain guitar parts for almost four years, switching to the opposite parts in songs gets a little confusing, and I'm pretty sure I remember Taylor saying he wasn't very comfortable playing Josh's lead parts for the tour last spring, so I can see why this time around, they're letting Justin play them (for the songs Taylor doesn't already play lead on anyway).

For everyone wondering if Jon was still touring with Paramore in South America, their tour manager Andrew tweeted this to him just now:

Tourmangler: @JonY2K soon we'll be rehearsing for south america like a g6
