chrisseh11 Posted April 3, 2007 Author Report Share Posted April 3, 2007 YES! dude, we are so excited about April 3rd... tomorrow. we've been waiting on it for a while, now. i thought since we haven't updated in a bit, tonight was the perfect time to tell you all what we've been up to for the past week or so and also fill you in on what's coming up for us. about this time last week we started wrapping up our time at the studio. i finished vocals... we rewrote a couple parts... and put the finishing touches on some of the songs. bendeth and the crew (love you guys) started mixing and, finally, we were able to hear the closest thing to the end product - of some of the songs - that we're gonna get until we actually are holding the record in our hands! we are so ready for you all to hear all the songs. not to toot our own horn or anything but we are just so proud of it. honestly, i've told people that if it all ended today, i could be happy knowing that these songs came out of us. this is the record that, if everything stopped, we'd want to be remembered for. not to worry, though, cause the end ain't comin' no time soon. if we have anything to do with it. speaking of those types of things, you are going to hear a song tomorrow that almost didn't happen. it was one of the last songs we wrote for this album. i'll tell you the quick version of the story - don't wanna give anything away that might need to be saved: sometime in january, during pre-production (the time where we practice and practice and practice the same songs over and over again until they are perfect)... we got a little depressed. i was definitely worried and felt like we didn't have the album that we thought we'd have by that time. so, we started to doubt and feel like all our efforts were sort of a waste. that night, i went back to the hotel and got online. talked to a couple friends about it... and then started lookin around our LiveJournal community to see what had been goin on with you guys. seriously, it was so encouraging and we really have to thank you guys for being so positive and supportive on there. (sure, there's always a little drama but it keeps things exciting, i guess). anyways. i started writing some words and things that i felt and when the guys came home we talked about it. about two hours later we had finished the song that you will know soon as, "Born For This". not only is it for and about you... but some of it is BY you. we ran a contest not to long ago, called "The Last Song You'll Ever Sing" Contest. we picked a winner and a few runners up and they came out to the studio and sang with us on this song. they were incredible! we think that they represent all Paramore fans extremely well, and we hope you agree! their names will be in the credits on the record so make sure to look out for them - your fellow paramore lovers. on top of that, there is a little reference to one of the songs on our old record in "Born For This", which i'm sure you guys will have no problem picking out hope you guys enjoy that. we did, ha! now, here's the thing... you have a semi- early version of the song. it might not be completely mixed and mastered... and there might be oonnnee tiny part missing. but that's what the record's for paramore fans are the best fans ever... we will fight anybody who.... wants to.... fight about it?
