Dance Gavin Dance - Sadly their lead singer was kicked out of the band for well doing interesting things (only seen them once live but they are amazing). They are currently holding auditions for a new lead singer but, they have released 2 cds and both are amazing; check them out.

Emarosa - Going right in order this band actually picked up Johnny (the ex-lead singer of Dance Gavin Dance) and are recording a new CD. There first release is alright, a lot of the songs sound the same to me. Anyway it'll be interesting to see what they do with a new lead man.

Saravain - Smaller band (as of now) that I have seen a few times.

Before their eyes - Just started giving these guys a listen not to long ago.

Eyes set to kill - For anyone who likes female vocalists (this band has 3..well 2 now. Their old lead singer has left the band kind of recently but their guitarist has picked up vocals in her absence.) On a side note, I enjoy them.

not much else to say

Theres more...it just depends what you like/how hard you want to go. If anyone wants to know some more bands I'd be glad to post a few more up.

Excuse me, while I pull on some pretentiousness hahaha. None of these bands are the traditional form of screamo. if anything, most of 'em are metalcore.

For some real good screamo (more punkish then "metal"), please check out Hot Cross, Circle Takes the Square, Transistor Transistor, and anything on the Level-Plane Records roster :)

you'll love them. i highly recommend them.. they make their music fun and they're so great live. they're just a local band from Pittsburgh, so they don't tour much. they did a little bit this past summer, and i believe are doing a little tour this coming summer again, so you should try to catch a show if you can

Don't know if this still applies to anyone or not, but hey !

I thoroughly reccommend Dance Gavin Dance, Jonny (melodic vocalist) has left, now, but his voice is second to none. If you dig that, then go to Jonny's new bad Emarosa who are pretty much the same vein, only slightly darker sounding.

I don't like them as people a whole bunch (based only on interviews and youtube videos like the shallow person i am, i know i know don't judge people blah blah blah- get over it) but their music, especially some of their older stuff in "They're Only Chasing Safety" is pretty nang. Underoath deserve a listen, although i'd be pretty shocked if most haven't heard of them already.

The Fall of Try, not thoroughly screamo, more very proggy/weirdy rock, and if you're after screamo i don't see any reason why you wouldn't like this band. The fact they're a 3-piece band, and the guitarist is singing whilst playing the stuff he's playing is pretty amazing if you ask me.

From Sheffield of all places, go give Rolo Tomassi a listen. Eva Spence is crazy, yet so good. Very experimentally, with emphasis on the mental part, but worth a listen. I can imagine they're going places.

Deaf Havana. Went to see these guys at my local venue a week or so ago, and oh they're good. I actually love them. And they're "screamo", therefore, i command you go and listen to them.

Lastly for this post, but certainly not least, take a peek at the glorious We're Not Superheroes Anymore. These are my recent obsession, and they're not thorough Screamo, but there is certainly some screamy/shouty action going on, and i love them like a fat kid loves cake. We're All Shipwrecked is currently my favourite song of all time.

I'll probably follow up this post at one point, i only did it because i was bored but now i have places to go, so ta-ta and such.
