Honestly I don't think it's too bad from my experience.

When I saw them back in November, they hung out for about an hour after the show here in Dallas. Then again, other cities may differ. They played a sold out crowd to almost 600 people. Hayley and Josh along with The Almost and The Starting Line, still came out after the show and chatted for a while with the fans that were there (about 30). It was really chill and nobody was acting too crazy.

Oh. Alabama. I fail.

judging by how it was after the birmingham show...

our days of talking to them after the shows are over...sadly..

 

theres just too many people that hang out after trying to meet them its rediculous..

...but it could vary by venue so...

You've got to remember, you're talking about Birmingham.

They've mentioned that they don't do it in the UK because fans there are over 100 more intense and crazy than US fans.

They're only playing July 1-6th.

The best place not to get crushed is probably more towards the back or way off to the side.

I'm sad to say I may not go...

It's supposed to be non-stop rainy this evening and Saturday and the temperature is supposed to drop to the 30s.

So I guess we'll see.

I mean, I love Paramore and I'd love to say hi to them... But it's a bit much for me and my health! Lol I don't wanna catch a cold standing in the freezing rain. (literally!)

Plus, rumor has it they're gonna try to squeeze a spring tour before Warped Tour. So they'll be back soon enough.

It's a money thing.

I'm broke from seeing Family Force 5 and Paramore within a few weeks of each other and being a college kid... Lol

And you can't sneak it to Nokia Theater.

It's impossible.

So this Friday Paramore is returning to Dallas, a little less than a month later to play 102.1's How the Edge Stole Christmas.

Anyone going?

Sadly, I'm not.

But I have a plan.

I'm going to the venue but just to hang out by their buses as usual to see if they come out and hang out after the show. Lol I couldn't get tickets.

If it doesn't work, then ehh I still have a chance to meet some other great bands that are playing there.

So as many of you guys know, the MVI of RIOT! comes with a cool U-Myx program which allows you to remix Misery Business and crushcrushcrush.

It's really fun and you can spend hours on it and not even know it.

I think the U-Myx definitely makes it plenty worth it.

I've had so much fun with it.

And the bonus tracks are better.

Rewind and Lovesick were great...

But the acoustic/london tracks are awesome.

They definitely came out and hung out with all of us in Dallas.

We waited like an hour and a half after the show.

It was worth it.

I don't think they ever played that version of Miracle live...and if there's a demo of it, it hasn't been released.

 

The Rewind demo that got released on the Best Buy version of RIOT! is not one of their favorites. Hayley told me once that she was really struggling with her vocals on the day they recorded that.

Yeah you can tell.

On the record, when she sings the "good byeee" part, the vocals clash and miss pitch.

Emo doesn't know it yet, but it now has access to a diva.

Hayley Williams of Paramore is a presence that can captivate millions in her own if she chooses. She has a voice that can fell a small patch of forest, and it stays on key and on high as she pogos, sprints and headbangs.

Ms. Williams has the larger-than-her-stature poise and charisma of Joan Jett, the easygoing Southern charm of Dolly Parton, the principled mystique of Debbie Gibson and the giddy approachability of Cyndi Lauper.

The 18-year-old even has a gimmick: She colors her hair to match her clothes; for this show, it was a deep red.

She's not reluctant to lead, as she demonstrated during her band's sold-out concert at the Palladium Ballroom on Saturday. But her values and her youth keep her from taking a lead. In emo-dom and for now, that's OK.

Paramore's arguably the fastest-rising band in modern rock. The steady-building success of its sophomore CD, Riot, as well as the disc's lead single, "Misery Business," has the band at a crest that shouldn't fall for the next several months. Even big-market radio, which is typically reluctant to latch onto anything emo or punk – much less both – is convinced; Paramore was added Saturday to "The Edge" KDGE-FM (102.1)'s gigantic "How the Edge Stole Christmas" concert on Dec. 15.

Judging from the extremely vocal and pubescent 3,300 that saw Paramore perform at the Palladium, the band is filling the pop-rock gap between Miley Cyrus and My Chemical Romance on multiple fronts. To its credit, Paramore isn't all about the singing comet that is Hayley. The other band members are more than competent musicians. And twin brothers Zac and Josh Farro supply a fair enough share of boyish hunkiness to offset Ms. Williams' sprightly alterna-cheerleader energy.

But from the opening bars of "For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic" to the not-half-bad cover of Sunny Day Real Estate's "Faces in Disguise," Paramore performed as four pros instead of a token frontwoman backed by essentially hired hands. In that sense as well as others, Paramore is the anti-Evanescence. Both bands play music about jealousy, love, loss and confusion. But while Amy Lee's charge is dark and underhanded, Paramore's positively empowering and righteous.

A fantastically arranged set only suffered one hiccup: Ms. Williams closed the pre-encore session by performing the two-year-old ballad "My Heart," a bad choice because of its languidness and age. Yes, she lost her breath during the bridge of "That's What You Get;" and still looks uncomfortable in front of a keyboard; yes, Josh Farro missed a couple of stomp-box cues and mailed in the solo on "Fences;" yes, Zac Farro rushed his bass-drum hits at times.

Yes, Paramore is a band that's maturing, but Ms. Williams is ahead of her pack. She may be in it for her bandmates' sakes now, but they might never catch her or match her. Then what?

Our DJ for 102.1 The EDGE, Ayo, introduced Paramore to the stage. Right before he did that, he gave us some news.

"As of tonight, Paramore will be back next month to play How the Edge Stole Christmas!"

I last saw them in Dallas at Warped Tour and Hayley was sick.
