  1. Ok, before you read it and go "Oh, another vampire story", this story is not about vampires. They are in my story, and are a main part, but the story doesn't revolve around them. With that said, read read read please.

    Chapter One: Encounters With Vampires

I held back my scream as I saw the predators’ eyes before me. He smiled, scarlet red blood dripping down the corners of his mouth. My body shivered as he crept closer, and closer; blood thirsty eyes on its prey. Flashbacks came to me. They were not my own. I saw a young blonde haired boy playing in the dark night, only to be attacked. He did not die though. Another one came. The blonde boy was older and in love with a girl. She was pretty. Deep blue eyes and bouncing red curls. It couldn’t be… She chuckled as he whispered in her ear. In another, he was sitting by the young girls’ death bed. She was pale, and there was sweat along her brow. The boy was begging and pleading for her not to die, but she was gone… The last flashback came. This time, the boy was being bitten, and he was in intense pain, I closed my eyes, but I could still see the image.

“My love my Mae.” He cooed to me. “You’re alive.”

“I’m not… n-no, I-I…” I was frightened by the man in front of me.

“My love, do not be frightened. I have found you; you will be safe now with me.” The boy said, creeping closer, and closer. “You are safe now that we are together.” He smiled, reaching out his long slender hand.

“I don’t know you…. I’m not even from here.” I spoke, trying (and failing) to sound brave.

“It is I your love, Theodore Thomas.” Theodore smiled as he moved even closer. He stood about two feet ahead of me.

He thought I was the girl in his flashbacks. My body shook in fright. I stepped back three steps.

“Please stop, I promise I will not harm you my dear Mae. I love you.” He reached his hand to me, which made me move back even further. “I will not hurt you Mae.”

“You think I’m her… the girl in your memories?” I asked, trying to not think about the memories. Yet even more came.

Tears filled my eyes, as I saw the love Theodore had for Mae. I had never seen a love so strong in my life. When I saw the memory of her dying, I couldn’t help but sob. What was happening? It was like I could feel that love in my bones, through out my whole entire body. I really was her, just in a different life. How could this be?

“I’m so sorry she is gone.” I said wiping the tears away that were flowing out of my eyes. “I’m so sorry I’m not her.”’

His soft features suddenly turned dark, and cold. His messy blond hair started to shake. I made him angry, and from the looks of it, that was not good.

“Fine then, if you are not her, I have no business with you.” Theodore rushed to me and started for my shirt. He gripped it tightly, and started to pull me up.

“Theodore.” I heard someone call. “Put her down.” The deep voice said from behind me.

Theodore hesitated before setting me back on my feet. I gasped in relief. “Leave.” The man said. Since I thought he was talking to me, I stepped backwards. “No, no not you miss. I was talking to the boy who was about to murder you.”

“Oh.” Was all I had managed to say.

Theodore was gone before I knew it.

I had another memory come into my head. This one was different. Peaceful in a sort of way I had never seen before. I saw a young man holding his daughter; she was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. Her dark blue eyes stood out against the yellow skin. The man smiled in delight as his baby girl grabbed his finger. The memory fast forwarded to when the girl was five years old. She was even more beautiful than when she was a baby, but she was sad, then I realized her father wasn’t in the room with her; he was outside of the house, looking in. This was the saddest one. His memory went even further to show his daughter older, becoming powerful. He had made her what she was.

“Adelle…” He whispered to her as she lay in pain.

I shook my head trying to get back to reality.

“Thank you,” I whispered to the man. “Very much”

“What is your name Miss?” He asked me politely, with a smile on his face.

“M- Mia. My name is Mia.” I managed to get out.

“What are you doing out here Mia, its dark, and who knows what lures in these forests.”

“I’m just looking for a place to sleep, I have nowhere to go. Now who are you?” I asked, curious, and half- scared that he was going to kidnap, and murder me.

“Forgive me, my name is Everett.” He smiled. “Just one more question, I couldn’t help but notice the expression on your face. Are you one of the Keepers?” Everett asked me.

“A Keeper, I don’t know what a Keeper is.” I admitted. “I’m not educated on the world outside of the Bible; my mother fed me the Bible by the spoon. She called me ‘Demon child’ and tried to get me to change my ways. I’m skeptical about the whole Bible thing.” I admitted, not knowing why I was telling the truth to an absolute stranger, who in all honesty scared the living crap out of me.

“Why are you skeptical?” He asked me, confused obviously.

“I see things, not very Christian- like.” I said, speaking my opinion.

“That’s a fairly good reason. You know, you’re not the only one who see’s things as you say.” Everett

“Do you?” I asked him, now curious.

“No, no not me, there are five others. Just like you and I think you are meant to see them.” Everett spoke to me.

“Oh… people like me.” I said, still confused.

“Let me give you a room for the night. You shouldn’t be out here all alone. Who now’s what or who is out here” William looked around.

“You mean like you? You don’t seem human, what does that make you?” I asked.

He chuckled and said, “I’m a vampire, fangs and all.” He put his arms out, and examined his self, feet up.

“Ah, that explains it then, out at night hunting humans. It must also explain the way I am about to die.” I said sheepishly.

Everett shook his head. “You are honestly one of the most important people on this earth, to kill you… It’s a terrible thing. My kind wouldn’t forgive me. The whole Underground World would shun my kind for killing you. So now, you are not going to die.”

“The Underground World,” I asked confused yet again. “What?”

“It’s the world hidden from the human one,” He said, “Made of more creatures than you could imagine, It’s astonishing if you think about it. As I was saying before, we should get you to our coven so you can have a place to sleep for the night.”

    I didn’t say anything.

“And don’t be afraid, none of us will…” He was suddenly cut off by Theodore, who was shouting at us.

“Everett! Everett!” Theodore was shouting. “Wolves, a pack of wolves are after us!”

“Take Mia,” Everett said lightly pulling my arm, and leading me to Theodore, who was ten feet from us. “Take her back to the coven. I’ll fend them off.” Everett left before I could blink.

Theodore took my right wrist and pulled me along. To where, I did not know.

“Wh- what’s g-going on?” I managed to ask him. This was all so confusing.

“Nothing, just come with me.” Theodore said to me as we raced along.

“Tell me what’s going on now Theodore. I want to know, and if you don’t tell me, I’m not going with you.”

Theodore stopped us and sighed. He then looked at me, and put his hands on my shoulders. “Ok, Mia listen to me closely to me.”
