  1. Well I wasn't quite sure where to put this so I just stuck it in off topic :P I thought some PFers might wan to hear this story, idk!

I have always been a huge Paramore fan, but recently I owe them a lot of happiness in my life. About two months ago I was set to go to the Bamboozle Roadshow with my friend Matt when he canceled last minute. I was just going to skip the concert (I've never been to one alone) and stay home, so I went home and got on AIM. My friend who I hadn't talked to in almost a year IMed me and he convinced me to go alone and I figured "ah what the hell, why not?" and headed to the show on my own.

That day I decided to wear my Paramore shirt, and it turned out to be such a great decision. Towards the end of the show, this cute blonde who I noticed looking over at me a lot during the show finally walked up to me and said simply "Hey, I like your shirt." We started talking about Paramore (she is a huge fan) and music and stuff and long story short I got her number. Since then almost every night we stayed up til at least 3am just talking/video chatting/IMing/texting. I took her out on a date within a few days to see Passion Pit and it was an incredible night, from then on I knew there was something special about this girl.

She is now my girlfriend and we are great together, in two months I've gotten so much closer to her than any other girl I've dated. The only downside to our relationship is that I go to school in Miami while she stays in New Jersey :crybad: ; in fact I just finished my trip down to Miami today and am already missing her so much. We've decided to try long distance and for once I think it might actually work, especially after we had such an amazing last night together (Paramore was involved of course!).

So idk what you guys will think but I thought you might want to hear how I met an incredible girl and had the best summer of my life all because of Paramore!

  2. I thought this video was okay...and then I saw 30 Seconds to Mars's new live footage video and was absolutely blown away. It was miles better than this. Closer to the Edge is how a live footage video should be done. This just looks even weaker now, unfortunately.

  3. Love these guys, they're from my state.

And they're really awesome, all the digital sales from their last album benefitted the daughter of this family near me, who had been severely injured in a car crash. These guys are a real class act.

  4. I don't think it's a BIG DEAL. It was just unnecessary of her. :P

Well if you follow any of the Chad/Max bullshit that went on, the fact is that she's just been a bitch about all that stuff. So her saying something like that is just more evidence of how much of a bitch she is :)

  5. Even McMahon cant match the raw emotion and poetic lyrics of that album?

Have you listened to Konstantine? That song alone kills the emotional and lyrical standings of TAYF. And by kills I mean, brutally murders.

And everyone know AP.net is a place for wash outs in their late twenties to go so they can complain about how annoying the music industry is now. So of course they're gonna crash it when their livelihood in the form of TBS reunites.

There are other emotions than being sad and whiny. Raw emotion isn't good singing or an overly long ballad. I can't identify with that song, he feels disingenuous if not just because of the absurd length. Not that it isn't a good song, but for me music is all about personal connection. I can't identify with scoring an eighth from the lesbians out west in Venice, but I sure as hell can relate to pulling the trigger on my best friend.

    just no.

Yup. Open your mind. Just because you don't like the music doesn't mean you can't see the passion and anger present.

Now I was always under the impression that TAYF was mostly the work of Eddie and Mark.

I'm fairly sure only Eddie has even written anything, and in that respect more in a background role, it was Adam and John that wrote the lyrics and music.

  6. Comparing Andrew McMahon to Adam Lazzara and John Nolan is blasphemy.

Andrew McMahon is in a class of his own and has consistently made good music his whole career. The same cant be said about Lazzara and Nolan.

Erm, TAYF is incredible. That was the only time Adam and John made music together...so basing it off that I would say that yeah, they're better. Trust me, Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin are two of my favorite bands of all time, but even McMahon just can't match the raw emotion and poetic lyrics in that album.

    EDIT: WOOO 69 posts!!

EDIT 2: And the TBS reunion crashed AP.net and SoCo's didn't, therefore: better :P
