^ Haha, I posted on the PF Twitter about voting and started getting hate replies from MCR fans yelling at us to vote for MCR cause Paramore sucks. I just kind of facepalmed and ignored them. I'm really surprised they haven't been in the lead for at least most of the competition.

 

I was warned me about Tokio Hotel fans being intense, but so far, I've only seen it from MCR fans.

And then you proceeded to thank the MCR fans for following the PF twitter, right? lol

This is a local Connecticut band I've been into since September after they won an opportunity to open for 30 Seconds to Mars for a show. They recently played a free show in a local Hot Topic store and it would be amazing if anyone was interested in checking them out. I took some videos as well:

If anyone would watch it, it would be great. These guys (and gals!) are extremely talented, and the girls have vocals that leave me speechless. They are UNSIGNED, and practically unknown outside of Connecticut. I would love nothing more than to see them succeed.

As for the coolest experience I've ever had as a Paramore fan... that has to be having Hayley as my own personal mic stand in front of 9,000 people.

 

She can't even reach you as a mic stand. You need to hire Jeremy, or give Hayley her own stool for when she acts as your mic stand haha.

But that pic is just epic, overall. So cool seeing you and the band and the other random people on stage in action!

haha well i'm not that smart about these types of things, so I had no idea it would be downgrading from the software we use now.

I know the LIGHTS official forum uses the same software this forum uses, but I've also seen some phpbb boards.

phpbb is a free software. It can't do 1/3 as much as IP.Board can, and it's free because it's intentionally marketed toward those who can't afford a more feature-rich forum. It's low on the totem pole, per se. But if you have a forum that doesn't have a lot of traffic and don't need many features, then phpbb is a fine option, but PF is too big for running on that type of software. It's also from 2007, so it's a bit outdated. They usually release a new phpbb every 3-5 years. I've also skinned for phpbb and it's a pain haha. But like I said, if you are running a small forum and it's not meant to be some huge big deal, then it's certainly a cost effective option that serves that purpose.

Would switching to phpbb make the forums faster? But then again, I don't think that's possible at this point since that'll probably erase all the forum data.

If we add a forum or two, it won't impact things too badly. Just saying that scrolling a ton is never that fun. I don't mind it too much, but then again, I'm aware of pressing the "Home" key on my keyboard to bring me back to the top, but it seems that not everyone is aware of that shortcut

I'm not against it, but I just want to remind everyone that expanding and adding more forums means more scrolling, and longer load times. That being said, continue discussing your suggestions

Just voted! I thought the No Doubt matchup was close, and definitely both are amazing bands, but nice to see Paramore fans pull through. Hoping for the same against LP

I know I'll never get the world to see everything my way, as much as I might try (hehe), but it's fine. I know not everyone can like Paramore. Just like how not everyone can like U2. But some choose to be more vocal about it than others. I know someone is hating on Paramore somewhere in the world, and I'm OK with it. Do I agree with them? No. But I don't expect them to agree with me, either. That's how people are. So I'll live with it... for now

The thing about me is that i've [of course] changed. Back when the spam thread was active i spent hours talking there to people... i don't think i could do that now. I don't know, i'm just not that bubbly anymore... you get what i mean? Although maybe i could, i don't know. There isn't anyone to talk to anyway.

 

I really miss the times when someone would write "hey guys" or something in the spam thread and there immediately were people responding and talking about basically anything.

 

And about other off topic threads, i post something now and then if i have something to say, but most of the time i'm just like "why would i post there, nobody even remembers me, it's like i'm talking to myself... nobody cares" lol.

 

I also think the new songs might bring some members back here... but i'm not so sure.

I'm glad you bring this up. It's not just you that has changed. It's everyone. Everyone changes. When we're young, there's not a care in the world besides our hobbies and interests. When we have the time and effort, posting on forums is easy and can take up all of your time, because you have the time and effort to give. When you get older, you have a job, school, a life, etc. to take care of. It happens with everyone. One generation of people moves on, and eventually a new generation fills their shoes on the forums. This happens on all websites. So don't feel bad or feel like it's just you. It's everyone. And it's just a natural progression everyone goes through. You and I included. We change, and that's how things go. Glad you brought that up. It's one reason why we can't use the band as an excuse for lack of activity. We need to account for people just simply not having the availability, or interest in posting on forums all day.

I <3 this band so much. And how could anyone not find hayley sleeping or playing a guitar 10x bigger than her to be anything but unbelievably adorable? Haha.
