Well, I'm having a little trouble with gimp, from gimp.org

On image color tutorials, I see people say things like ''Then, add a fill layer of -" colors there, I don't know how to get to the 'fill layer' and what it actually is and how would I get to it?. I kinda need some help in coloring on gimp. Is there a place in gimp like there is on Photoshop where you can do the selective coloring, and stuff like that.

I need each image to be, width: 238, and height; 425, each having some textures mixed in and some cool coloring, how you do in your signatures and other graphics ^^ I'd also like them to have a 'evil/demonic' look to them. (all of the side table images)

if it's ok, can you pick out the images? I don't know of much people who are in photo shoots besides paramore, actually, since paramore's really the only band I look up photoshoots of.
