I am going to be using the Dirty Ego font on different sections of the web site, such as the navigation, news titles and extra.

It is not a web safe font, and there are places I can't uses images. So I tired something brand new. The site will use the WOFF font format created by firefox and introduced in firefox 3.6. Internet explorer 9, and new versions of Safari and Chrome will support it too?

Ok, you might be wondering, why in the world do that if only firefox 3.6 will support it at this moment. Well, I can do things the old way. IE has support for a EOT font, and safari for a special format of the TTF font. I can make these browsers use this until the WOFF format is supported.

Just wondering if everyone here could do be a quick favor. Can you go to http://www.thisisnotachickband.net/fonts/demo.html and let me know if the Dirty Ego font displays correctly for you? Thanks=)

I think it's my internet filter, but I don't see why it would be blocked.

That's odd. It must see chick and thinks it's a porn site Is your filter or is it form a public internet connection such as a school/university

Yeah, I wish I could have only one line of navigation. I made my site navigation, the issue is that IPB throws in the boards navigation too, like you see with the two lines at the top of this forum. It looks better here since it has the whole width of the forum to work with and is not fixed to 1000px wide for the layout. Not to mention the fact that the color changes.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make it look good, and if the IP Board navidation can even be replaced with images, as in the template I only see a call for the nav and the css settings change all of the links at once.

Definitely not a forum for me.

working on the nav and footer now. I think I am going to add masking tape or something like that to hold the Polaroid up.

I might change the colors of the font on the news titles as well, dunno if purple works best for them or not yet.

Added a few others so cass is not the only one at the top.

Also made the menu in a smaller font so I can get a few top bands in there.

Wow, I have never been to a beach like that before. I love the ocean but the beaches are always way to commercial. sand with buildings right up against them, and no room to walk as there are to many people so you have to either do it very early in the morning or late at night.

I really like how quiet it is there and the cliffs.

i was wondering a bit about the avatar size...can't we get 100x100 ones? 90x90 is so tiny.

It's a little rough around the edges. Also, it would be cool to include more than just Josh's guitar and Cassadee. Let me know if you need anything edited or something. I'm online a lot.

Which edges look rough, like around the guitar and stuff? If you want to help out by polishing the lay out or helping me add some other bands to it that would help a lot. (don't really have any good pictures to add from other bands and need to find some).

I was also thinking, I need to make it so Cassadee is not so tall. You know the user box on the top right of IPB? That will be in the layout as well. That has me thinking I have to find a spot to include the forum navigation as well. That will show on the home page too as thep age header is going to be the IPB Wrapper. (I tuned it on on the homepage to get a look at what it looks like and what I need to work around.

but for example you can add hayley and sierra on the top to cassadee because when someone visits the site they think its only a hey monday site you know what i mean but all in all i like it !!!

Here is a start on the page layout. Anyone have any feedback and suggestions?

The Polaroid picture will change per each band page you are on.

In the dark grey area under the band nav (where you find the ipsum lorium text) I am thinking about quick "(Bandname) is..." and list off band members and maybe a quick sentence about the band.

The top nav has me wondering what to do at this point too. There is no way I can have very band listed in it. I can actually get 3, maybe 4 if they are all short names so that wont do.

What should I include in the nav, I am experimenting with Bands A Though Z but I'm sure we will come up with something more creative (taking suggestions). Home and Forums will also be in there. I think I will add a media link as well.

I still am going to add some more textures and lighting effects to the page. Make the footer, and customize the nav links and stuff. I'm also thinking about subtly putting different bands name into the texture on the top banner

We will just have to wait and see what the future holds for us. I'd imagine they will replace him. It wont be the same band but who knows, crazier things have happened. The band could possible better then before or perhaps not.

I have heard a couple people throw around that it may start out as a Paramore Song, then turn into Airplanes with BOB coming out on Stage. But who really knows. Anything is possible. They did say a Special performance, hmm, now that has me thinking

Yes, Cassadee had a band before Hey Monday, it was called "Blake"

This band was named after Cassadee's middle name Blake

There was a bass player before Jersey in Hey Monday!?!? His name was apparently Pete and he left very quickly (Well before Hold On Tight was released)

This also now appears in the wikipedia entry for Cassadee Pope

While in high school in Wellington, Florida, Pope formed the band Blake (titled after her middle name) with good friend Mike Gentile. Unfortunately the project disbanded before being signed.

So, I guess there might be some truth to that story of her band braking up and Hey Monday being put together.
