  1. I saw Tegan and Sara years ago at a music festival. They're very talented, but I must say they have zero stage presence. No one seems to really get too much into them, even if they're big fans. Great songwriters though.

zero stage presence? sorry, but i have to disagree. personally i feel that they have a lot of stage presence, sure they may not be running around the stage headbanging but they present themselves on stage in other ways...such as their stage banters which i feel is full of wit, sarcasm, and really what gives that personal connection between them and their audience. it was actually this type of stage presence that really got me into T&S. and its hard to really judge them when they do music festivals or opening for a band because they are very limited on time, so of course they'll be doing a lot less talking and more on performing their songs, but see them as a headliner and it's a completely different story. :)

  2. Honda Civic Tour is beyond amazing.

been watching some of paramore's set, and it looks incredible.

i really want to watch all of it, but i don't want to spoil myself too much. =)

With that said, I just finished watching tegan and sara's entire set from

the Delaware State Fair show and i must say, i cringed while looking

at how the audience reacted to them. it was clear that both tegan and sara really

put themselves out there to gain Paramore fans attention but all they got back were

puzzled looks and awkward silences. just wished that some paramore fans who go to the HTC

shows are more open minded to new music and are receptive to the other bands.

but i guess i'm just biased due to the fact that i'm both a huge paramore AND tegan&sara fan.

  3. Well to start out, their basic instrumentation is: Drums, Bass Guitar, Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Vocals/keyboard. This does vary, however. For example, Taylor plays a Glockenspiel when they perform Brick By Boring Brick (before the last chorus). For guitars, the rhythm (for the most part) backs up the lead with power chords. The lead parts vary from a slight variation of the rhythm part in higher octaves, to catchy riffs (sometimes using octaves). (Josh loves octaves in his solos too!) The bass parts tend to provide a steady groove that is easily distinguishable (Fences) or serve as a subtle re-enforcement to the rhythm parts (Brick By Boring Brick).

Sorry I can't add more, I'm not feeling 100% today. I'm sure Harry can explain more of the musical aspects.

    oh thank you so much!

what you just put is perfect actually!

    thanks again! =)

  4. Hey guys. So I have to write a paper on any band I wanted, and of course I chose Paramore because well, I know a lot about 'em and figured it'd be easy! lol

but there's a section where I have to talk about some of their musical elements (ie. how does the music reflect on rhythm, melody, harmonic, texture and form) and i can go about this by using specific songs. And I'm not the most technical person when it comes to distinguishing such things so I figured, why not ask you guys?

oh and how would YOU describe their style and instrumentation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    :D

  5. for the person who asked about where i got the honda civic tour code, they posted it on the facebook page so if you become a fan of it i'm sure you'll find it!

And i would so love to have gone to the anaheim one cuz i know its the last tour date and if i wasn't going to SDSU that one would be closest to me. UGH i'm bummed but I'm just grateful I might actually be able to see them in concert this year!

Oh thank you! I rarely check my facebook so I've been checking my email like religiously for the past three hours.

Haha oh! SDSU? Lol I wanted to transfer to UCSD. :)

Yeah Anaheim is like half an hour away from me. And I've always wanted to go to the Honda Center.

  6. ah thats awesome!

im not that big of a fan of tegan and sara hahaha theyre alright lol

haha they grew on me. ;)

If I went alone, I'd stay out of the mosh pit. But luckily I'll go with friends.

i'll be buying two tickets regardless.

im sure i'll be able to find someone to go with me before sept. comes around.

sucks not having friends who share the same music taste as me.

  7. ^San Jose

    oh i see. :D

does it really? thats cool and isnt that the last day of the tour ? that should be really fun

    haha yeah it is!!

last tour day is always INSANE! so im sure this one wont be any different.

and maybe as a b-day present for them, they'll have a longer set. :D

(though im mainly going for paramore.lol)

that is if im able to get tickets...fingers crossed.
