Hehe, no problem. I've done A LOT of research particularly on the throat and vocal chords after getting injured. I use to scream a lot when I was playing in a band. Basically you have two sets of vocal chords. Theres your true chords, which you speak/sing with and look like thin white strips. They touch together and vibrate to make the sounds we use everyday. The false chords are another set of chords placed higher in the throat above the true chords. It's litterally a fold of mucous membrane covering muscle in the larynx. The false vocal cord separates the ventricle of the larynx from the vestibule of the larynx. Also called the false vocal fold.
If you scream like.... Bert from the used; (slamming the two sets of chords together in the throat) you'll end up in shreds or one up from hayley's situation and get a polyp. (Fluid filled ickyness on the chords themselves.)
It's better to isolate the false chords when screaming and push down on your diaphragm for volume, not getting it out of your throat. And I haven't been able to tell if Josh screams using his throat or not.. I can produce the sound he makes doing it the right and the wrong way.. Considering under paramore's website they have a link to a vocal coach's dvd's who lives in nashville I'm ASSUMING he's doing it the right way? O_o; Dunno, sorry for rambling.

so my camera ran out of batteries, and i had only 3 extra dollars so i just left it home.
Cute Is What We Aim For was the only band to mention anything about 9-11. they had everyone take a moment of silence. their drummer threw a bottle cap at the singer during this time. haha kinda funny...
when Paramore came on stage, i chuckled to myself... it was just Hayley in her white gown and a lantern...walked to an electronic piano and started playing what i think was that "Breathe" song...just the piano part though. no singing that i can remember. and then the rest of the band came out and started playing it, then it went straight into "Emergency." they had a lot of cool interludes into their songs, and a couple different versions of songs. also, Hayley played piano on a few songs. even songs that dont have keys on the album, which was neato. overall, i was only semi-pleased with their set. i was hoping they'd play at least one full new song and "Hallelujah"... oh well. but they played most of the songs off the album which was cool.
before the show, i was walking to Subway and Jeremy scootered passed me and gave me the peace sign. cool.
and also, it didn't really seem like Paramore played for THAT long...maybe they did, but i dunno. every time i see them, it seems to go by really fast.
anywho, i had fun. even though i went to the show alone. haha.
I read somewhere someone saying when they were asking josh where hayley was he said she had a blood blister on her vocal chord. That's pretty serious as it's a major sign of extreme stress on the vocal chords. If she develops something more serious like a hemorrhagic polyp, she'd have to cancel whatever tours/stops remaining and get ready to have laser surgery, as those don't go away by themselves. I remember someone saying at the huntington beach acoustic set she was cracking all over the place. Well when you have something such as a blister on your true chords the blister will touch the other side of the vocal chord before its symmetric side does, it ends up making you sound like a "EOOHH"ing donkey. I know from experience.. I've had one and they HURT.
I guess that was a real roundabout way of saying that if she cant sing brighter because as she says, "It hurts to do." No way she'll get through hallelujah. =( And kudos for you for hitting up the concert solo, true fan right there.

i got a hug from hayley once. in vegas. and my hand sort of swooshed her butt a little...not purposely, but because she was coming from the back of the venue to the stage and there were lots of people. ha yes.
You don't need to lie, it's ok.

Lol shaant makes it so SOO easy to get signed.
"Yea we just put it up on the internet and eventually got a deal."
If you can't tell..... I'm really jealous.

Shes done Avril Lavigne sk8er boi
Lol ya I read about that. Was in the same interview as the stuff I was talking about in my original post, lol. She has a way with shutting down the retards.
-
Is Camisado the version where she goes "you're a regular decorated emergency"?
Yup. That would be panic.
-
Why is it everytime I see a video of Shaant it looks like he's craving a line of coke? Seriously he nudges his nose every two seconds and the way he spurratically looks around makes him look tweaked out.

Hi, not sure if there's a thread on this but...
Right before the song ends (Here we go again), the band plays a breakdown in which im sure many if not all are familiar with where Hayley will sing lyrics from different songs.
I'm only aware of 3 different variations that they do live.
1) Backstreet boys - Incomplete (Really really old, I think they had their old bass player in the video I watched.)
2) At the drive in - One armed scissor (The most common, she did it at my recent show in anaheim and in about 80% of the videos I watch on youtube.)
3) Panic at the disco - Camisado (Rare, but I've seen it a few times.)
I know I've read somewhere in an interview or it may have even been a LiveJournal post where she said that she'll sometimes just make up words. The example she gave was of some guys in the crowd being obnoxious. She sang something to the degree of "why are you here, do you even like our band" etc etc.
The Question Is: Has anyone witnessed, or know of a video in which she does something OTHER than the 3 listed above? If so share with me if you please and if you know of a video link, POST IT!

what are you guys using to view this?
.vob? I know its a DVD rip but still can't get it to play.

As long as it's still reasonable trying to get tickets to their shows.
...If it turns into instant sellouts that will suck for us.
I guess this means lots of new music, which is good.
-
You have to really give CIWWAF some credit being as their drummer was sick that week, and was having the HTL drummer fill in for them. At the anaheim show the following day he was apologizing to the crowd that they couldn't play a few songs as the drummer didn't know most of their stuff yet.
Hit the lights are really good live. I listened to their music on myspace and pretty much decided that I did not care for their music- but after watching them live I gained a lot of respect for them... it just sounded so much... better live. And the fact he stage dove into the crowd, was funny.
-
Have they played a show that hasn't been sold out? From reading their LJ I know their first 6 shows were sellouts, and that the anaheim HOB show was sold out.
Would only imagine them not selling out a show somewhere in the middle of no where.
Still great news though.

Man.... blood blister on her vocal chord is serious stuff. I wonder if she has ever had vocal lessons? Putting a lot of emphasis in getting volume out of the throat will trash your voice. I really really hope she doesn't develop a polyp and end up needing to get surgery or something. Stuff like that can be career ending ordeals.

If you're an innocent cute looking girl when they ask you if theres a camera in your purse you just immediately respond "No." and have it tucked somewhere that if they did peer into it and shuffle stuff around they wont see it. It's what my sisters do when they go to shows... 75% of the time they dont even bother to pat them down, while I'm stuck getting molested by a 300 pound black lady.
-
Lol nope. I invited 2 friends whom of which are now paramore fans. I've done my part haha.
-
How many birthday messages are there so far?

Ya it was awesome wasn't it. Im sooooo pissed I missed the M&G. I ordered tickets during presale, I got 4 and was psyched for the M&G. I let my sister take over and forgot about it. I guess the internet blipped and the transaction never took place. I found out a week before and it was SOLD OUT. Lucky me ticketmaster usually puts up a very few amount on the day before or day of the show. I was clicking that thing like a MAD MAN. 10am on the day of the show I put in one ticket and it's like- put in your credit card. So I flip out and try to get 4, and couldnt. Ended up buying 3 to find out my SISTER was downstairs buying two holding a ticket I could have used to add up to 4.
Oh well, atleast I got to go

haha those people you saw talking to Hunter were probably Steph,Nicki and co.
Yeah they looked like a few younger girls (im 19), with maybe one of their dads? Was an older guy among the bunch.

ARGHHHHHHH
I'm so pissed I didn't get the M&G 4ticket thing. I ended up buying tickets off ticketmaster the DAY OF this show as I thought I had ordered tickets earlier but i guess my internet died and it didnt go through with the transaction. In the end I still ended up buying 5 tickets but I could only get THREE when I found out the person buying the last 2 was my SISTER DOWN STAIRSSSSS.

Hey guys-
Obviously my name's Trevor Been into paramore for a while now and have been somehow dragged away from the computer everytime I thought about hopping on this board and registering. Well it's done (hurrahh).
Anyone go to the anaheim hob show last week? Soooo fun and CRAZY. To anyone who was there can attest to the line of crowd surfing people during the my heart encore lol. I tell my buddy to throw me up as it was the last song. Seemed like everyone else thought it was a great idea as i looked behind me and 10 people were getting grabbed my the security guards.
Also did anyone see them after the show? I saw hunter chilling out front of hob talking to some people whom it looked like he knew before the show while i was waiting in line... wasn't about to go run up and harrass him. Can't believe no one really noticed? O_o
anyway enough rambling, nice to meet you guys =)

hmm, I dont know I'm not really an expert or anything. But I'd imagine that he could make it through the tour without a problem, since he only really does it when they play my heart, and they don't play that every night anyway.
If it's spaced out enough where its getting time to heal before he trashes it again it'll be fine in terms of health/pain. But I'd imagine that by doing so for a long time you'd shorten the range of your singing voice.
