  1. I think there's a collection of reasons for the boards dying.

I think Paramore changed (not necessarily for the better) and then the boards changed (again maybe not for the better). Some might say that the cosmetic change of the boards shouldn't make a difference, but I think it clearly has. Some things still confuse me (but I've been on maybe 3 times in the last year). Personally I'd already left before the change, but coming on here knowing that all the thousands of messages and hundreds of conversations I had with people on my profile are gone, gives me zero motivation to make any effort on here. People remember the "good old days" of Paramore in the same way they think about these forums.

For me I went off Paramore's music, my opinion of Hayley dropped, and I didn't like the attitude of the mods and so I ended up just coming here for the people on the boards. Now that I either have them on MSN, or I'm following them on tumblr/twitter I don't "need" to come on here anymore.

If you guys are planning on switching to WordPress you might wanna take a look at BuddyPress as a possible way to resurrect the place.

One last thing, the majority of active members on the boards didn't check the main site anyway so if the main site is still "active" then it's no different to before.

  2. Jorgi is correct.

    Matt is a racist.

Nice to look back and see me reference farting cows as a reason to eat meat lol and I was ready to reference cats this time too. Basically cats need meat to live, a vegetarian cat is a dead cat.

  3. Shocking that there's no thread for them.

Best described with a PR Quote:

“Infused with the spirit of 90‘s alternative rock, encompassing shades of everyone from Weezer to the Foo Fighters, Dinosaur Pile-Up have a similar knack for blending chunky rock riffs and poppy melodies to thrilling effect†Rock Sound, 9/10

They remind me of first album Foo Fighters personally, which is refreshing (imo) with most of today's new bands all sounding the same. Slight cliche, but you know what I mean.

They've probably got a myspace page or something. Google or YouTube them 8-)

  4. i don't think they were exactly 'manufactured' i mean yeah the label pulled them all around a bit but all of them met on their own and formed the band on their own it's not like the label was like 'here is a girl lets give her 4 random people to make a band for her'

Wasn't that the gist of what Josh's post said happened? The label ignored the guys at first and didn't want them, then after AWKIF tried to get rid of them?

Personally none of this really bothers me at all. If I still cared about Paramore I'd probably feel cheated, but I slowly went off them musically and how they came across publicly from Riot onwards, and I gave up on them when BNE came out. What bothers me most is when people lack common sense about the current situation, and cannot say (or bear to hear/read) the tiniest bad word about Paramore (Hayley).

  5. yes please

    things went downhill after 2007

    Agreed.

Why is it that so many people seem to think they are owed every little detail of what happened to the band? They gave a statement telling you Josh and Zac left the band and that the band is not breaking up. Not enough "emotion" or information for you? To damn bad. They may be a band in the public eye, but what went on between them is sill their private business, why should they be forced to tell the world their private business? Because we bought a few CDs a couple posters or tour tickets? Give me a break. If they say anything more, consider yourselves lucky, but that is their personal lives and if they don't feel like talking about it in public, then they shouldn't feel they have to. They owe us their careers in that it's us buying their music/merch that makes it possible for them to make a living doing what they're doing, but that doesn't mean they have the obligation to tell us all their behind the scenes relationships any more than it means they have the obligation to let us go snooping through their houses/e-mails/other personal items. Even though they have put themselves in the public eye, they are still entitled to their privacy.

The main problem with this whole situation is that being a manufactured band is not popular (well in a pedantic way it is, but not with the general Paramore fanbase - 'rock music fans') and I know Paramore Haters are enjoying the current situation. It damages their reputation. And there are a lot of people (mainly girls) who don't want to believe what has come out the past few days and so want an alternative side of "what happened" - a post similar to what Josh posted.

Obviously Hayley doesn't need to make that type of post, and judging her past record she won't make one either. The closest people will get is that "hoax" tumblr post.

  6. Quotes ahoy!

How do any of you even know that Hayley wrote the announcement? You all assume because she usually blogs for the band, but the Paramore account on Paramore.net is usually used by management and Fueled By Ramen.

I thought maybe FBR posted the statement and not Hayley, but at the time I thought she would have waited to let Josh and Zac make their own statement - stopped the label from making the post. If they were as close as they made out to be as a band then surely you'd still respect the people leaving the band.

I agree that Josh + Zac's statement isn't exactly a fun read... but theirs is written in bias to them, in the same way that Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor's was written in bias to them...

    This.

Completely agree, the blog is extremely dark and from the way Josh is talking about it, it seems as if it was just all awful. Yet he dated Hayley and he stayed for 3 albums.

When I got to the end of his post, I thought "is that it?" expecting more. Obviously it sounds bad because he's showing us the side of the band we never saw. We saw the happy people laughing, joking and being friends. There were probably far more ups than downs. We're just getting all the downs in one big post so to speak.

Thank fuck for Josh! What's this about people thinking he's being bitchy? He could have said a lot worse than that.

    This.

My opinion is that I back Josh AND ZAC. It does say "Josh AND ZAC" on the post they made. People automatically assume Josh is bitter because he had a relationship with Hayley. I'm glad they objected to the negative lyrics on BNE, I remember thinking if I was one of the guys in the band I'd have told her no to having them on the album.

And to go back to what I said earlier in this post, the announcement made by Hayley, Taylor & Jeremy which made Josh and Zac look bad, I personally think came out, because they knew that Josh and Zac were going to spill the beans about the band.

I'm glad I grew tired of... well I was going to say the band... but Hayley seems accurate now... when I did.

  7. I had been planning on giving my opinion a couple of days ago but only had my password changed today (thanks to whoever did that for me on twitter).

The guys leaving was obviously going to happen sooner rather than later. I have no complaints about them for leaving, more respect actually and I'm more interested in what they do musically next.

My only complaint on the situation is I thought the announcement made by Hayley was very poorly worded.

This post was totally worth coming back to make :P
