  1. A member of the LJ community also emailed them and asked about the b-sides that are on the 7" vinyl, and Dan from FBR said that we would also be getting those as mp3s on April 9th as well. That's a pretty big bonus cause they were originally exclusive to that 7", and no one knew if or when we would be getting them digitally. :)

  2. i ordered whatever one came with the hoodie haha

maybe it is a regional thing?

see, i ordered from the canadian store because i'm from canada....and it was still late

Yeah, that's the deluxe set, haha. I think you're right about it being a regional thing. Maybe they just aren't having issues with the North American manufacturer.

I've heard some horror stories about Canada Post in the past. I used to work for a record label that would send purchased items to Canada, and it would take weeks. Here, I sold a book on Amazon to someone in Hawaii, sent it the cheapest way possible (media mail, which they say could take up to two weeks), and it got to them in a few days. I was amazed.

  3. i haven't received any emails about a delay but my box set was always going to be a few weeks late anyway

shipping to the true north strong and free~ has always been a joke

Did you order the crazy expensive limited edition box set? If so, maybe it's just an issue within Europe? I've only seen people from around the UK and Europe getting that email so far.

Haha, last time around, I remember preordering the BNE boxset from Canada cause it was cheaper. I actually got it a day or two early.

  4. I love hearing that story, Ross. I get more excited to see Jenna again every time, haha.

Just about a week and then I'll be seeing them three times. It's gonna be such a good weekend. They're all gonna say "Go home, Chriss!!" lol

(Nice usage of "stoked" there, haha. You're mastering American slang well. :P )

  5. I see a lot of folks outside the US complaining about FBR, and I want to clear this up now. FBR takes care of North America and sometimes (but rarely) the UK. They are a part of Warner Music Group, which is the label that takes care of anything international, including distribution, so if you live anywhere else in the world, you should be blaming Warner [insert name of your country/region], not FBR. There are literally about 10-12 people who work at FBR - WMG manages all the big stuff... even in the US, through Atlantic Records.

As far as the email that people who ordered the deluxe box set are getting, I'm thinking it has to do with the special book that comes with it because I haven't seen anyone who ordered any other box set receiving it (myself included). In that case, it's nothing to do with any label, it's the company that's producing the product. Something unfortunate happened, and they're going to take a little longer to get it together. It happens all the time.

  6. I'm not usually one to listen to clips before an album comes out because they never fully capture what the songs are about, but I knew Hayley was especially excited for people to hear them, so I went ahead and gave them a listen on iTunes just now.

Honestly.... it's shaping up to be a KILLER album and one that I won't stop listening to until way after the summer is over (I still listen to BNE on a weekly basis, so it's probably gonna be a good few years, realistically)! From what I was reading on here, I was expecting a few songs not to be as good as the rest, but I love them all. Sure, I have a few that I might jam a little harder on a nice spring afternoon, but I'm impressed by all of them just the same. I think this is a great representation of where Paramore is at right now, personally and musically.

I love it. I'm stoked. Mail me my copy now please, FBR! :)

Also... Ain't It Fun is everything I hoped it would be and more. Listen to that bass!

  7. I love conventions. I'm definitely going to NY Comic Con again this Fall, and I'm trying to get as many friends to go as possible. I don't go and cosplay, but I love seeing how much effort other people put into their costumes. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them work in makeup and special effects cause they're that good... and all the DW cosplayers are amazing!

Clara/Oswin Oswald is a favorite of mine already and we've only seen her twice. Jenna-Louise Coleman was a perfect choice to play her. :D

  8. no artist is better than another, no genre is better than another, and no person is better than another because of their taste

    Amen!

Not sure what (if anything) Benji did that would make people call him a sell out. I do know how loud I'm going to sing this song in a few weeks though. :)

  9. They've even had to go so far as to assure fans that this song won't be on the new album, it's just a song that they wrote and wanted to release. :???: I also really like it and it's catchy as hell.

Music snobbery has reached an all-time high lately, and I can't stand it.

  10. What's everybody think of "Breakdown"? I personally have had a mix of this song and "Still Into You" stuck in my head since the middle of the week, haha. I can't wait to see them next month!

The only think I'm bummed about is the amount of "fans" making fun of them for having Benji Madden on the track. They got to work with an artist who obviously inspired them when they were younger, and I think that's all that really matters. I guess Joel and Benji are a bit more present in Australian media (they've dropped off the face of the Earth in America), so they're deemed "sell outs"? Sucks that Jenna had to write a blog defending their choice to write a song with Benji though. They were so excited to share this track with everyone and when they finally did, people bitched about it. :/ Seems like they're getting positive feedback from fans in the US on the Suppy Nation Tour though, and that makes me happy.

  11. Sorry for double posting.

‎Billboard caught up with Paramore backstage at SXSW to chat about their upcoming album - out April 9th! Watch the interview below.

A question I for one was looking to find the answer to, the boxset will include 2 bonus tracks. Wikipedia however lists 3,I wonder what will happen with the last one. Anyway, great interview!

Yup, I guess to clarify even further, two b-sides are included on that 7" vinyl in the box set, but when people found the new songs listed on ASCAP, there were 20 for the new album, which means that there are three b-sides. Nobody's sure what's going to happen with that last b-side, but I'm sure we'll hear it at some point.

  12. Well Katy Perry has written some KC songs, so that could be where you're hearing it too. I mean, I'm the person who even considers some Kelly Clarkson singles "rock," so I think at some point it just becomes personal preference, haha.

I'll never really understand the hostility towards pop music either. I'm a huge fan of songwriters like Max Martin and Dr. Luke, and I think pop music sounds heavenly, but some people just hate it, even though it's such a general genre.

Haven't checked out the comments for this specific song on YouTube, but if they're anything like the comments I've read on any other YouTube video, I think I'll stay away. :P

  13. THIS, Now is ok, not my favourite song but ok, still into you made my ears bleed and made me want to cry, I don't mind the happy lyrics but I just CAN'T with the verses , I just can't

Saying it made your ears bleed and made you want to cry is a little harsh, isn't it? I mean, it's a song about love and obviously reflects how they are feeling about life right now (which I'm pretty stoked about - for once I feel like they're actually happy about where they're at). It's okay if you don't like it, but to say that about it kind of bums me out. Music should never make people feel that way.  :(

  14. Not really hearing the Kelly Clarkson, myself, but I do hear some Cyndi Lauper influence. Sammy Roenfeldt, the photographer from Australia, did describe it as if Katy Perry and Paramore had a song baby together, which I liked, haha.

I don't think it sounds that poppy! I mean, pop songs have a certain...something,I don't know,a lot of effects in the background, masking the guitars. Whereas in Still into You, the guitars are still there. It sounds like a happy rock song, rock doesn't necessarily mean heavy!

I have to agree with this. Rock is just as versatile as pop, and I'm a HUGE pop music fan, but I still think this is still a little too rock-influenced. Just cause it's upbeat and catchy doesn't mean it can't be rock.

I don't want to start a debate about it though. Call it whatever genre - it's just a damn good song. :)
