  1. I can't be arsed to start nitpicking, that was a fun listen. :) I'm curious, though, how are you playing the chords?

I can think of two Move away and Tranquilize but i am not sure how will they sound acustic :)

Yeah, they have a soundworld of their own, not really suitable for acoustic guitar me thinks.

  2. Always wanted to be one of those respectable old gentlemanly guys you see on tv with suits and a cigar, sitting in a mansion I own in a room with a fireplace. I'd also like to know how to drink responsibly too and have a 40 of JD and drink that straight in some glass cup.

Switch JD with brandy, and that's exactly what I did with some friends once. Many rounds of bridge were played with ragtime music from the '20s as background. 8-)

  3. okay. crushcrushcrushcrush acoustic cover. i filmed it a while ago. it's on my old acoustic.

cause i worked this out by ear, and in standard tuning, some parts arn't right, espthe ending and the part between the first chorus and second verse. but please don't eat me. shit camera quality aswell.

I can help you out by saying that there's no C major chord in crushx3 :)(the barre chord you're playing from the eighth fret). You've worked it out by ear pretty well, but switch C major to C minor and you have it sounding like it's supposed to! (the song's key is, after all, C minor (or C# minor in the studio version)) You're right about "the part between the first chorus and second verse", the very last chord that you seem to have trouble working out (that you skipped over totally), is actually a C5 chord with B on the bass, or B5+, played

    10

    7

or, if you want to extend it,

    19

    10

7 (first inversion of the dominant for the theory geeks, amazing trick that's made its way to hundreds of radio hits.)

Trivia: My theory teacher called a G#, A#, C progression, with all major chords, a "Eurovision ending". I guess it's because the last chord is supposed to be a minor chord, but switching it to a major chord sounds super happy.

  4. Chris Cornell has probably royaly fucked his voice, I dunno.

But at any rate, I don't care if Nichole Scherzinger has a good voice, it doesn't validate her as a good and creative artist.

How many of the songs the Pussy Cat Dolls have done are actually written by them? Not many, if the credits are anything to go by.

I don't care if you have the best voice in the world, if you lack the talent to write your own music and need a song writer and/or producer to do the bulk of the work, you shouldn't be in the music industry.

It should be left to REAL fucking artists who actually know how to write their own stuff.

Everyone here by now probably knows I hate all pop music of that "external song writer/producer writing all the stuff/most of the stuff" variety.

Anyway, while I'm here and while I'm yet to fully sober up from a night of hanging out with people:

This rules. I'm not the biggest fan of Slash's playing, but this solo RULES.

If Slash wants her to sing on the album, then he can have her. I'm not expecting her to write her parts. Nichole is a songwriter as well, though, and probably not the best example of someone who shouldn't be in the industry. Goes to show how much you know about her or Taylor Swift (like you said in that other thread). They might be not be writing the kind of music that you want to hear, but fuck, let them do their thing.

  5. Nichole Scherzinger has a fairly good voice, despite what it sounds like when tuned to 100% perfection and surrounded with the music that is Pussycat Dolls. Chris Cornell, on the other hand...I can't picture him singing Slaves & Bulldozers live ever again, he's done.

Amazing. I wonder why I hadn't heard of this before.
