Claiborne formed in the summer of 2007. Comprised of several veterans of the Tampa Bay music scene they hit the ground running, constantly practicing and honing their sound week by week. Not an easy task given that each member had come from incredibly varied musical backgrounds ranging from pop-punk, screamo, hardcore, metal, and good old rock and roll. Scott Black joined after leaving from a short stint in the post-hardcore band She Screams Ambulance, Mason had just finished a collaboration with southern-hardcore outfit Hi I'm Utah, and Danny had just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq with the Marines. Seriously.

Sensing the potential, Scott recruited Brian from She Screams Ambulance and the band began writing with their singer at the time, Roland. After several months of work and numerous gigs in the Bay area, Claiborne and Roly decided to part ways. Rachael joined soon after in November of '07 and the process began again. With renewed energy, the band threw themselves into a fever of long nights, long practices, and even longer writing sessions all while dilligently gigging around the Bay area. Claiborne entered the studio in mid-January to record their debut EP "De Stella Nova" with Chango Studios. Looking always to the future, they are already in pre-production for their first full length record, due Fall of '08 and an east coast tour of the USA in mid '08.
