For those that don't know, Venom predate "The Big 4" of Thrash and are also still playing, having released their latest album, Hell, this year. Slayer and Metallica have both supported them, yet they've avoided going mainstream and corporate, something they could've easily done, had they cared for it. They were one of the first bands to be described as Black Metal, are largely responsible for creating the sub-genre, and are easily one of the most influential metal bands there have ever been. To be going for about 30 years and being no less underground than when they started is a feat that earns them my respect alone, not to mention the countless other bands strongly influenced by them.
