His photos start to look the same to me after a while too. agreed. in a way, i can agree with this statement. ryan russell is a great photographer, he has a whole bunch of talent, more talent than i'll ever have if i were to become a photographer but he has his flaws. i understand he likes to sharpen his pictures but sometimes he makes them too sharp and they just draw my attention away because it strains my eyes to look. there are more photographers out there that deserve more recognition but in the end, ryan r. will be one of paramore's personal photographers hence why he'll always get more of the lime light. couldnt have said it better myself Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

hubabalou Posted January 22, 2009 Report Share Posted January 22, 2009 I can understand why people dont like him, but I honestly think the man has a whole hell of a lot of talent. Most photographers these days wouldnt even attempt to shoot with film and thats ALL he does. He refuses to pick up a digital camera and that takes skill. Being a photographer myself and working with film, I know for a fact that is extremely hard to shoot with film and get the outcome Ryan Russell gets. Furthermore, almost all of his editing is done in the darkroom, not with a photoshop sort of program. Again, hard to do. All in all, I'm a big fan of the guy, and I'll basically defend him under any circumstance. Plus, he's super nice and super humble.
