She played that song on her Asian Black Star tour last month where she played a piano. about Goodbye Lullaby, I don't think that Avril cares about her record sales, she just wanted to make honest music. I really hope that She will write songs on her 5th album on her own again. As far as I'm concerned, LAdy Gaga, Katy Perry, Kesha care about their record sales and just follow what their manager told them especially the autotune thingy. I'm glad that Avril sticks to her own style, here's her portion of interview last week. Interviewer: In the Lady Gaga era, do you feel pressure to get more theatrical? Avril: I definitely stick to my style. I don't really follow the trends. I am aware that it's very much a thing to be very rhythmic and overproduced and very dance pop on radio today, and a lot of singers are over the top with their wardrobes and costumes, and that's great because that's who they are. It's not about the record sales, Avril doesn't care much about popularity, It's about the quality music she makes. Remember that she wrote 7 songs alone in Goodbye Lullaby album???? all those songs are amazing, introspective, meaningful and emotional. Sounds nothing like the mainstream music today such as Lady Gaga, Kesha, Katy Perry, Britney, etc... indeed, I'm totally hooked on Screaming Bloody Murder album. Deryck Whilbley is getting better and better at his poetic songwriting skills haha, Can't believe he and Avril divorced when they were the coolest couple back then haha. I love the Greenday type of song THE DARK ROAD OF HELL, a 12 minute song contains a 3 sub songs such as HOLY IMAGE OF LIES, SICK OF EVERYONE and HAPPINESS MACHINE, so epic. Deryck is also improving on his guitar solo skills. so close to their former guitarist Dave Baksh.

They already released their Screaming Bloody Murder album a week ago. Totally Epic, my fav song is HOLY IMAGE OF LIES, you should definitely buy this album

Hey Shaniali, check out this What The Hell live at Jay Leon Show you will notice that Av is sick, but she doesn't want to disappoint her fans so she still sang 100% live haha, other singers will prefer to lip synch if they are sick, but Avril is different, she's 100% against lip synching. As for the poppy songs What The Hell and Smile, you are right, Smile reminds me of Katy Perry song haha, the rest of the songs don't sound today's mainstream songs. It has been released a week ago last March 8 haha, Besides what the hell, you should listen to her other songs such as I Love You, Stop Standing There, Darlin, Goodbye, Not Enough, You will hear the masterpiece oh her voice, She wrote 7 songs without a co-writer such as BLACK STAR, STOP STANDING THERE, DARLIN,4 REAL, REMEMBER WHEN, GOODBYE and ALICE, RCA is forcing her to become the next lady gaga, kesha and katy perry but avril resisted, stood up for herself because she wants RCA to know that she is capable of writing songs without fitting in to the Mainstream sounds nowadays, Avril doesn't want to be a record company slave. That's true punk, Not just conforming haha. Avril doesn't care so much about Grammy's and record sales, she wants to express her music. That' why I love about her. Her fans from Let Go and Under My Skin really loved this album, Her The Best Damn Thing fans don't like this album much. To be honest I find her Goodbye Lullaby Snippets repetitive chord patterns but when I bought the album yesterday, I love all the songs. Avril isn't a poetic songwriter like Hayley Williams but her simple lyrics/melodies suits her a lot haha

I really love Demi, She's a great singer live. I can say that she can synchronize with avril and hayley's live voices when it comes to singing haha. Demi is a talented Disney singer

yes indeed!!! Her best album is still 2004 Noise From The Basement, her 2007 album Sound Soldier is good but her 1st album is way better haha, Skye reminds me of Avril a lot coz they are both Canadians hahaha I'm crossing my fingers for her 3rd album thsi year.

Listen to their new song SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER, that song gave me goosebumps, they're really switching to a Billy Talent/Bullet For My Valentine style hahaha. Even so; Tom Thacker of the band Gob is a replacement for Dave Baksh and he is just as amazing as Dave when it comes to guitar solos and this song is a proof Deryck had really improved his songwriting skills

it's crap? i don't think so, ok here's the thing, Avril writes songs about her personal experiences and reality of life. In Let Go,her theme is about a teenage life. Listen to her song MY WORLD, she sang about her life in Napanee, Ontario, Canada where she worked in a chicken restaurant back there. Listen to her album UNDER MY SKIN, the theme for that album is about a breakup in her ex boyfriends, listen to her song MY HAPPY ENDING FOR PROOF, also listen to her song NOBODY'S HOME,it's a bout a child's vagrancy looking for a place to stay. Listen to her song FALL TO PIECES,it's about making up with he ex boyfriend and getting back together and finally her song SLIPPED AWAY where she wrote about her beloved pass away grandpa. In her 3rd album THE BEST DAMN THING, the theme for that album is fun. Now her 4th album GOODBYE LULABY is coming very soon. I also want to tell you why Avril is better than Hayley, Avril can play both electric/acoustic guitar,drums and piano,go to youtube for proof, I wonder if your beloved Hayley can do those instruments hahaha
