  1. Regarding the Da Vinci Code hype,

when a book sells around 60 million copies worldwide and a movie is made based on it... it's bound to garner a little bit of publicity.

As for Mean Girls... good film actually, I enjoyed that despite my hatred for all flicks that are chick :P

  2. Just got back from watching The Da Vinci Code, if you read the book it really offers you nothing new as all the plot twists and puzzles etc. are already known.

Tom Hanks was acting in "cruise control" and Jean Reno was disappointing. Paul Bettany as Silas was cool though and Ian Mckellan as always gives a good performance. Although her acting was rather ordinary in this film, I still find Audrey Tatou to be one of the most charming actresses in the world today.

I'm not going to say "don't see it" but the story just drags on in my opinion.

  3. I'm not expecting much of the film to be honest, and I'm not a huge fan of Ron Howard or Tom Hanks.

But I reckon Jean Reno is just too damn cool and Audrey Tatou is one of my favourite actresses so I might catch it for them, and out of curiousity from the book.

  4. Gawd they're so crap.

First album was listenable' date=' and then they just spewed out the same song over and over again, but on two albums.[/quote']

    I agree to an extent.

The first album was amazing, listenable from start to finish and songs which sent chills to my spine. Their last two albums however were very ordinary sprinkled with the odd classic here and there (The Scientist and Fix You spring to mind for me).

And for a guy who can't really sing that well, Chris Martin has done very well for himself.

  5. I use to use the term "oh that's so gay" all the time, then one of my friends came out and I tip toed around using it.

I also found out that one of my counterstrike (online game) buddies was gay too and I also tip toed around using the term.

The thing is, both those people don't mind me using that term, and in fact were slightly offended with me trying to tip toe around it. They actually use the term themselves because to them it's just a light hearted remark as long as they know the user means nothing by it.

I wouldn't take offense if they used the term "chink" to me as long as I know it's completely light hearted.

  6. ^ more embarrising than JoJo? >.<

    ooh and I have 2 S Club 7 ones & two spice girls ones..hahaha!!!

    More embarrisng than that!? :P

    we wont laugh lol

I own the Hearsay' CD, if you're not British you won't understand how embarassing that is.

I also own a multitude of crappy novelty singles over the years from my younger days.

  7. yay!! finally someone else that listens to them!!

They are just a fantastic band, their recent stuff is light in comparison to what they done in the middle of the careers, but I like their more recent stuff.

I just love the way how they can absolutely scream/growl/grunt then all of a sudden they hit a part where it's so melodic and almost serene.

And the singer has an incredibly memorable voice.

  8. Miss Scarlet, with the knife, in the Kitchen

On goes that cleavage bearing red dress,

The one that hugs onto every curve

On go your diamonds and your pearls

Douse yourself in expensive French perfume.

    Eyelashes are your secret weapon

    Accessorized with ruby red lips

    Used to hypnotize every man

Before you send them their final kiss

You’re dressed to thrill, but also dressed to kill

Hook line and sinker, you lured me in

How are you planning to kill me?

Is it a rope in the conservatory?

(Tie it tightly around my throat

I watch you laugh as you watch me choke)

How are you planning to kill me?

Is it a revolver inside the study?

(Gun pressed firmly against my head

Pull the trigger and I’ll drop down dead)

They say you’d get away with murder

All you’d have to do is wink and smile

And after months of careful scheming

You’ve found the perfect way to end me.

On this night you’re going to prove them right

    I’m standing there, blissfully unaware

How are you planning to kill me?

Is it a rope in the conservatory?

(Tie it tightly around my throat

I hear you laugh as you watch me choke)

How are you planning to kill me?

Is it a revolver inside the study?

(Gun pressed firmly against my head

Pull the trigger and I’ll drop down dead)

    You slip into the kitchen,

    Oh so quietly

and grab a knife from the drawer

That you left there for this moment

As you sneak up on me,

    Oh so quietly

you raise the knife up in the air

And plunge it deep into my back.

  9. yay.. took a while to get a few replies to this thread.

Yeah they had a tour of the UK, tickets were on sale about a month or so ago and before I even found out about it, they were all sold out!!

I still listen to many of the tracks quite often. I wasn't sure how big they'll be as I'm sure most of the North Americans wouldn't get some of the references or localisms in their songs.

  10. Beauty becomes the Beast

She says her lips are paper thin,

    So they inject some collagen

Now she’s got the perfect pout

    Always pushing her lips out

But to me they look so fake.

    I think she’s made a big mistake

She used to have the cutest smile

But now her lips just stretch for miles,

    Chorus

    She’s so pretty,

    But she doesn’t believe me

    She’s so pretty,

    Still she changes everything,

She wants to change her skin

    And everything within

But she shouldn’t change a thing.

    Oh please don’t change a thing…

Now she looks at her flat chest

And she wants some bigger breasts

    Inflated from a B

    Straight to a double D

But to me they look so fake,

    I think she’s made a big mistake

I used to love her slender figure

But to me she’s just disfigured

    Chorus

    Now even your own mother,

Can’t pick out her only daughter

Who’s that girl in the mirror?

    Do you even recognize her?

Now she realises she’s a fake

She knows she’s made a big mistake

She breaks down in blackened tears

From all of her mascara smears

    Chorus

  11. I've never really been much of a gigger as I have few friends who're into the same music as me until recently.

    2004

    - Funeral For a Friend

    2005

    - Taking Back Sunday with My Chemical Romance.

Oh and it probably doesn't count but I was in Edinburgh for New Years and I "heard" KT Tunstall and Texas play. Unfortunately I didn't have tickets to the concert they held, but I was within earshot and if the bank was a slightly different angle I would've been able to see it too. But alas mother nature got in my way!!

    2006

    - Gemma Hayes

    Going to see;

    - Panic at the Disco in April

    - Fall Out Boy with The Academy Is... in May

Still looking for someone to see Paramore with :(

  12. ^What you wearing?

Well I just got back home from work, so I'm wearing very baggy gray basketball shorts paired with a lovely blue "family guy" T-shirt where the you see the back of the Dog, Brian, about to pee on the fire hydrant with the phrase "Do You Mind?" underneath it.

I'm accessorising this ensemble with some very feminine, blue-ish purple fluffy slippers with big stars and smiley faces on to keep my feet warm as it's freezing in here

I'm quite the trend setter.
