Ross
Yeah, 2005-2007 I went to 23 gigs. 17 of them in 2007. 2008 I went to 28. And by the end of this month I'll be on 22 for 2009. If my counting's correct.
hubabalou
Niiice. Yeah, by mid-August I'll have been to I think, 22 this year as well.
Ross
It would be more if I could be bothered counting going to see my friend's bands play.
hubabalou
Yeah, I counted my friends shows because they typically play legit shows with legit bands. hahaha

kwik-silva
MO to support Biffy in the UK and then Biffy to return the favour in the US http://www.alterthepress.com/2009/07/manchester-orchestra-to-support-biffy.html http://chasingsafety.co.uk/news.asp?newsID=
Ross
Need to see if I can get list for either Glasgow show.
kwik-silva
You can't (or at least I hope not )
Ross
Well I've been listed each of the three times I've seen them.
kwik-silva
Ya mean the biff?
Ross
No, MO. I can't really be bothered seeing them play a short set in a huge venue though.
kwik-silva
Huge venue? They're not exactly playing huge venues
Ross
Well up here they're playing the second biggest venue in Glasgow before the arena. The three times I've seen MO, the three capacities combined would be just about half the size of aforementioned 'huge' venue.
kwik-silva
They're playing Barrowlands right? That's only 1900 people, hardly anything compared to London venues
Ross
The biggest venue I've seen Manchester Orchestra in was a not even half filled 600 capacity venue. I seen them play a 300 capacity hall then a 200-odd capacity room above a pub a little over a week ago. 1900 is huge compared to each of those. I wasn't saying the venue itself is huge considering I've been to venues much larger but that for seeing MO, it's a huge venue. It's why I didn't go see them support KOL in late '07. Not interested in seeing them in a 12000 capacity arena for an extortionate value. They're much better in a more intimate situation.
kwik-silva
1900 is 'intimate' compared to most venues I've been to xD
Ross
Like I said, 1900 is the second biggest Glasweigan venue. After that it's our Academy. Then you're into arenas and stadiums. So for up here, playing two nights there is pretty big. And you were complaining about intimacy when TBS got moved yet now you've just admitted it's still more intimate than most venues you've been to. kwik-silva
I wouldn't call 1900 intimate, I'm just saying it's not exactly big 10,000, 20,000 and 100,000 - now those are big
Ross
How many venues (arenas and stadiums don't count) have you came across that hold that many people though? My point was that from 250 people to 1900 people is a huge jump and I'd prefer the first option every time.
kwik-silva
But every second venue in London is an arena or stadium xD but apart from that none And yeah, I hear ya
Ross
Well you know that first bit's not true.
kwik-silva
But there is Earls Court, Wembley Arena, Wembley Stadium, the Emirates etc. etc.
Ross
Just off the top of my head: Hammersmith, Brixton, The Garage, Underworld, Barfly, Heaven, Water Rats, Mean Fiddler, Sheperd's Bush, ICU, KLSCU (or something) and until recently the Astoria. kwik-silva
Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush are 5,000 And whatever! I want to go to the Garage, Set Your Goals and Twin Atlantic (as support for somebody) are playing there
Ross
Just cause they're 5000 doesn't make them any less of a venue considering they're neither a stadium nor arena. suppose now is an opportune time to tell you that the SYG support is The Season Finale (Formerly Scratch Card Junkie).
