Application deadline: June 2, 2007 With summer nearly upon us, Rockin Rebels Radio (http://www.rockinrebels.com) will be on the air everyday from 1:00 pm Eastern until afer midnight on most days. This means we will need to expand our DJ staff. Here is what you need to audition to be a DJ on RRR: 1. A microphone that doesn't sound like shit. 2. A music downloading program that works well and won't cost you loads of money to DL songs because you will constantly need to be updating your library. (you can also rip your CDs into the computer) 3. A Cable/DSL internet connection that doesn't cut out on you. 4. A fairly new computer that doesn't have a bunch of crap on it. If your computer is even remotely slow, don't bother applying because it will cause the station to buffer while you're on air. Must be running Windows XP or higher. 5. Winamp (get the basic version, which is free) and know how to operate it. 6. You should be outgoing and not make our listeners want to kill themselves or wish they were narcoleptic (oooh big word - falling asleep involuntarily every few minutes) 7. You must be at least 14 years old. 8. You can be from anywhere in the world but must speak English. The day will be split into 2 parts - afternoon and evening. The shifts will be as follows (all times are US Eastern) 1p-3p, 3p-5p, 5p-7p, 7p-9p, 9p-11p, 11p-1a (shifts may vary in length depending upon number of DJs on staff). If you are from another part of the world, we may add shifts to suit your time schedule. Please note that in your email. Sometimes you may end up doing 2 shifts in a day. The more you are available, the better. You must be available one weekend day. You should be available at least 3-4 times a week. The more the better. Last summer we had DJs who did 5 or 6 days a week, which was very helpful. If you apply and are hired, you will be expected to follow a set of rules and make your scheduled shifts. Meaning do you know how to add songs to the playlist, delete songs from the playlist, and do you know how to play one song without the other one starting up by itself right away after the other song finishes? If not, practice. Do you have a DSL/Cable connection? How would you rate your computer skills? High, medium, or low? How old is your computer? About how many songs do you have in your music library on your computer? Could you fill a few hours? Do you have a music downloading program such as Limewire, Gluz, Ares, etc? What days and times could you fill on a weekly basis (must be 3-4 shifts and include 1 weekend day). If you are willing to do more than 1 shift a day, please indicate that as well. The Fourth Drink Instinct just got inducted into our "Royal Court" on Monday, meaning it got retired from our nightly song showdown because it won 12 nights in a row.
