  1. Only the best video game series on the NES! No idea how your drawing is Mega Man-ish though besides it being a robot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Man_(original_series)) This was supposed to be a bunny at first, but it looked horrible so now it's a cow. http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?k5rrd315z93c
  2. OMG we're all going to die. Sorry if this was made I already, I searched though. So what would you do in the event of a zombie attack. I will now copy paste what I wrote on another forum as it's horribly long. I highly doubt a single person will read it but whatever. I'd need about 15 people at the most for this. I'm setting this right where I live so the locations will follow suit. I will quickly grab a few blunt objects (probably baseball bats and then a large shovel) to make my way out of the house, I will then gather about 20 healthy and capable people to work with me. We will hold up in the Walmart or Target here (they're right next to each other here, so I'll pick whichever one isn't occupied or out of supplies.) We would split up into 2 teams. One will stay back, filling all containers with water (as running water will soon disappear, along with electricity.) The other half will head to Home Depot, and grab tons of gardening supplies and seeds for vegetables. We would also get stuff to fortify the entrances and generators for electricity which will be rationed so that we don't waste it. Keep in mind that guns are hard to aim in real life, especially in a situation like this, so they're essentially worthless. On the way back we would stop at places that have some weapons that don't require ammo or anything, mainly blunt objects (bats, shovels, and the like) and check the sword shop that's here (it mainly sells replicas, but on the chance that they have authentic swords it's worth a check.) We may not do all of this in one trip, but they're things that need to get done quickly. We would blockade all doors with what we can and continue filling containers with water. Assuming it's the right season we will immediately turn the roof into a garden, this is why we stopped at Home Depot. We need soil and supplies for this. We would plant vegetables and stuff and when they're good we'll keep most of it for the winter. We would probably also check grocery stores around before we hole up for good for any more non-perishable food and to the library to get tons of books. You need something to do when not fighting for your life. We would ration food (especially if we have more then the 15 max. limit) and just make any adjustments needed. We'd upkeep blockades daily and then probably start making babies. Hopefully someone is in whatever store (Walmart or Target) that we didn't go to and also have a good situation so that we can trade supplies if one is in need and there is a surplus. We'd probably build armored trucks to exchange supplies and have walkie talkies for communication. After that, we just survive. The only bad thing about my plan is water supply. After the containers we fill run out we'll depend on rain and a technique to purify urine (saw how to do it on Man vs. Wild, he did it with sea water but urine works too.) /rant NOTE: We're using the fast type of zombie (28 series like) but they're all undead and they won't die if they don't eat. In other words, you can't wait for it to blow over.
  3. My name is (none of your business.) I am 15 years old and an atheist. I live in Cleveland, Ohio and I'm a sophomore in high school. I have green eyes, some people have tried to say brown, but they obviously failed Kindergarten due to lacking the ability to name colors. I have black hair, which my parents pass as "very dark brown" but if it looks black I don't care what it really is so just call it black. I'm pretty tall, not sure how tall though, a bit less than 6 feet I'd say. Maybe 5'11"? I also wear glasses. I can be pretty sarcastic and have been told I have a "dark sense of humor", which is probably pretty accurate. I am very opinionated but I do change my mind sometimes. I don't like debating with friends too much as I can usually act a bit too much like "I'm right and you're obviously wrong" so I try to hide that part of me. I do respect other opinions but I just always feel like I'm the "right" one. Anyways, I'm pretty smart, which is a good thing. I like the idea of sports but can never commit to them. I'm what you would consider "shy" and I tend to think that most people suck. I play video games, listen to music, watch movies, that kinda thing for entertainment. I also find the idea of a zombie attack incredibly awesome, and go through many scenarios in my head about it. Which leads me into how I day dream A LOT, which seems to lead to dreaming every night when I sleep too (can't remember the last time I didn't.) I usually spend the next day wondering what the hell was going on in the dream (last night I was at a funeral that was overly casual and the dead person kept moving, which alerted no one but me.) This is probably getting way too long and I imagine no one will actually bother reading this, so I'm going to go ahead and stop.
  4. I'm so flinchy with my eyes though that I can't even do one of the tests at checkups. Contacts are quite plainly impossible for me.
  5. I believe they put clamps (that sounds more gruesome than what they're probably called) on your eyes so you can't close them. So I should be able to get through it, provided they don't mind me screaming.
  6. I can't even wear contacts because I'm too sensitive about my eyes to manage to put them in! They let me try for hours and I couldn't do it no matter how hard I tried. I guess I'll just get laser eye surgery once I'm old enough.
  7. In 6th grade me and a friend made up and memorized own language and the wrote notes in it. Oh those were fun times. It was more like a code though, so it took like 10 minutes to crack it. But it was so worth it though.
  8. Same here. I found it amusing how everyone struggled identifying literary devices on tests except for me. My teacher would occasionally pass a test or essay back to me and tell me that I needed to be in honors. And when we peer edited essasy I always got mine back without any corrections. Sometimes there was something wrong with it that they were just too stupid to catch it. =/
  9. Good luck with that! I'm going into a couple honors this year as last year I was easily getting at least a 3.9 and I was barely challenged in anything besides math (which I can't seem remember a thing in a week after we do it.) And can you believe it took us 2 whole months to read Romeo & Juliet? That's insanely slow and I felt like I was surrounded by idiots. So I needed honors for that, and I'll go into AP for that if I can in Junior year. Meanwhile in History I got over 100% in for the year, it was like 103.7% or something. So once again honors seemed smart. And with the rest of my classes I could've went honors (including math) but I want to keep my GPA high, I'm going into honors mostly because I can get over 4.0 then. I'll probably do more honors in Juinor year with maybe an AP or two.
  10. My bus comes around at 7:00. But classes doesn't start until 7:45. At least I can grab a spot in the library and study a bit. That helped a lot at finals this year as I had almost an hour of extra study time right before the day starts. I'm a sophomore in high school if anyone was wondering.
  11. I don't have school until the 27th! And I have to wake up at 6:00 for school. It's the worst thing ever as that means about 5 hours of sleep for me. I wish it could start at 10:00 so I could actually be awake for my first couple of periods.
  12. I watched some of EURO this year but I'm not a huge fan of soccer. I'd watch more if we got Premier around here but we don't, and the MLS is horrible. Football is much more entertaining for me.
  13. A rant (also called harangue or declamation) is a monologue that does not present a well-researched and calm argument; rather, it is typically an attack on an idea, a person or an institution, and very often lacks proven claims. Congratulations, you win. For your reward you get even more cake.
  14. This thread seems to be devoid of rants. Rants are supposed to be long, not just a sentence or two on something. It's preferable if it's just a wall of text that no one will care to respond to, therefore winning you the argument out of the apathy of your combatant. If they respond with another rant you should go back and forth just showing how long you can make posts in succession until they eventually give up. That's my mini rant on this thread.
  15. The forum I mod is currently undergoing (well it's kinda died by now) a debate about how the forum is not growing and people were blaming the staff. I agreed that the forum is slowly falling down but it's every body's fault for not posting. It seems people sign on and then proceed to not post, which can't happen when there's so little activity. I got appointed to mod recently though in the Video Games & Technology section and have tried pushing conversation, but it's hard when you're basically talking to yourself. But those are just my troubles.
  16. Oh, I didnt even think of checking there first. Sorry.
  17. Here's a fun little thing to make your own album. 1 - Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band. 2 - Go to Random quotations: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album. If you want to do this again, you'll hit refresh to generate new quotes, because clicking the quotes link again will just give you the same quotes over and over again. 3 - Go to flickr's "explore the last seven days" - http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/ Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. (NOTE: Save the picture before you click on it to make it bigger and then host it on Imageshack otherwise it won't work.) Put it all together, that's your debut album. You could make a couple if you want. I thought this would be fun. Here's mine.. The Care Bears in the Land Without Feelings - "Less A Second Chance" EDIT: And yes, I realize it should be "Your debut album"
  18. I agree there's definitely a difference, but even the "chatting/making friends" can derail a thread and change it from a good discussion to a useless thread. It has to be contained a bit, and people need to know when to stop.
  19. There definitely are good posters here, and I think most of the people that spam could be better posters if they tried. And I guess I could just give up and "go back to where I came from" but I kinda want to help this place out a little, and it can be good if there was a bit more discussion and less spam.
  20. I've been here for about a week. I'm not blaming it on you or Alex (not sure who he is yet, only starting to recognize usernames) it's just a common thing here, and that needs to change if you want more good posters to come here. Honestly, if I hadn't come here to get a banner made (as the forum I mod has a dead graphics section) I would have been turned off by this place and not signed up.
  21. Leadership is definitely a thing that helps a forum out tremendously, if the posters see the mods making well thought out posts the members will do the same. It can even help improve those people that are spammers and make them fine members.
  22. I beg to differ. How many pointless threads have been made in here in the past couple days alone? Way too many. If the discussion resembles a MSN discussion it's spam and it's rampant here.
  23. That would help out a lot around here. On most forums the mods and admins are people who post a lot and are some of the most quality posters on the forum (no spamming the place up, which goes on WAY too much here.) The mods should be keeping an eye on things and setting a good example, but I haven't seen a mod post in my time here. I know on the forum that I mod I make quite a few posts a day even though it's a rather small forum. I have to set an example and promote good discussion, not just sit back and only take a look occasionally. Now I'm not bashing the staff here, as I certainly haven't been here long so I don't know everything. These are just the observations I've made.
