  1. FINALLY an OLD BRO!!! Its been too long man. How have things been? I noticed you got THE Girl, the one you had wanted for the longest time! I dunno what happened between us man, i dont know why we stopped talking and all that. thanks for coming and posting. Brings back some good times Anyways hope its all sweet Ren Totally!!! Just cause you werent part of the forums back then (another thing you might discover years after knowing of a band), doesnt mean you ain't old school. AWKIF is the prerequisite, and i know they didn't tour the Philippines back then (Im from Malaysia). Not everyone has the resources and/or time to go overseas to see them. So Don't worry, if reading my first post brings back memories, then you're alright Ren
  2. Pressure was the first song i heard too. Its still my favorite song by Paramore. haha for me maybe since day one plus a few months. And i think the new fans have to be more diehard than us to even get anywhere close to them (To meet them) Yeah it sure looks like no i knew quite well is still on here. Either than or they are lurkers. Seems like some new fans who feel like they have a sense of entitlement have scared some of us old fellas away Totally agree with you on them having an impact on your life. I had the same feeling about it back then. Growing with a band. I guess they outgrew us? Ren
  3. Its just all about feelings fellas Just like growing up in different times, different feelings comes with the territory For me the 90's were alot different than the late 2000's, same with old school and new school fans. You can have good, bad or a mix of both feelings about different times, just like i felt back then and now. Saying that old school fans is better than new school fans isn't fair but it happens. Its stupid in a sense that its like saying im older than you, but if you had the choice you would've been born first. Somehow its all left to fate, and some people discover new bands earlier than others, only difference being when you discover them when they're small, it feels more SPECIAL because you feel like you're part of an exclusive club (Kinda like having a baby and seeing it grow up, and your kid ends up being great or a complete shithead) but when everyone is on the same bandwagon, it feels crowded in the end and you want to fuck off or you like the new company. It felt even more exclusive because the few i knew on here hailed from different parts of the world (Including myself) and its amazing to find a gem in other corners of the globe. Some might call it a crazy adventure. Maybe old school paramorefans feel superior because they felt they had a BIGGER role in the bands development? Or maybe somewhat like me i feel nostalgic towards those times, because lets all face it, who the fuck wants to be amongst a million people chasing the same nickel and dime? But new school Paramore fans have brought them to be an internationally known band, and whether they are loyal or the 'twilight' fans they're still supporting, and it might segregate some of us, but im sure its all the same for the band some of us love so much. We're all guilty of jumping on the bandwagon, because there is probably another band who is starting to make it big, and you discovered them recently, and joined their forums only to find out there is a bunch of fellas, who have been with the band and on their forums for the last 6 years, and feel some hostility towards the newbies. It doesnt seem like a 'cool' thing to know a band from music videos or mainstream media nowadays (maybe because theres alot of bullshit music out there), but im still honored to know that even though Paramore have grown so much, that they came from the most humble beginnings and are trying their best to maintain some sort of normality in their lifestyles. Riot and Brand new eyes may not have had such a profound impact on me than AWKIF, But things change and you dont always like it. and because you dont like what there is now, doesnt mean i and others cannot think about the good old days when things felt better or just plain right. Life ain't fucking fair, and we all have to deal with it and just move on. Its not the end of the world, but maybe an end of an era? Ren
  4. A guy who speaks the truth. One of the reasons why i probably dont see any of my old pals on here anymore
  5. Thanks man u read me like a book. As for old people being around, i can see now why some have stayed, but can also see why alot of my buds have left. Thanks. I remember you from them days aswell. Im merely seeing whether old guys are still around and whether they remember that feeling. The Humble beginnings
  6. haha those times yeha man i still have it, though its parked right now cause its winter. I drive a sleeper Honda CRX for the most part now. I remember you too man! Honestly vaguely though. I forgot what we talked about then. Ren
  7. its good to know there are some old timers still around! Back then was so inspiring. But i can't help but feel like something has been lost since then. And somehow it makes me feel a lil resentful, because its something you can't ever have again I remember some of you by usernames, but it seems like some of the people i knew arn't on here anymore Ren
  8. I felt exactly the same way for a while. and the personal touch is the feeling i miss! Ren
  9. You've hit the nail a quarter of the way in. As for revered treasures, ive found plenty where i live. im not knocking on them for getting big. i knew it would happen from day one. its just that feeling i had that i miss the most. Im sure there are fans of many other bands who feel exactly the same way.
  10. Hello This Thread is for the old school ParamoreFans. Ya'll Know you who are The Ones who remember the days when Paramore used to play small venues, open for bigger bands (some of which are smaller than them now) and had maybe 50 people at a show singing to every word The Ones who remember a time when AWKIF was scarce, and had to go to that special music store to pick it up, order it online and get it mailed it, or in my case go to another country to get (Japan) The Ones who went to a show and met Paramore intimately, and had a crazy story to go with it. Maybe even traveled long distances to see them play and be a recognized face in the crowd The ones who were part of a lil' show someone wrote which spanned 2 seasons and a special dude who printed it all out and gave it to the band. The Ones who remember leaving a thoughtful message on how Paramore had changed their lives. The Ones who would stay on PFboards for hours to be the first to see every Paramore update, check on each others posts and even chat on the threads (even though theres something called MSN and AIM) filling them up with within hours about constructive talk or BS. And Last but not least,The Ones who had a epiphany when they first put AWKIF in their CD player and still get moved by it when they listen to the same CD today. You all know who you are. Even Though we might not talk much or at all anymore, we all know that some of our talks and experiences together have helped each other through bad times, and made great times even greater. Our love for the a band who touched our hearts, and gave us hope for something better. Its been such a long time since ive been on the boards, maybe because i grew apart and became somewhat isolated. Maybe i didn't like the way things changed. Or maybe i just got too busy and focused on other aspects of life. But one thing is for certain, i do miss the guys and gals i used to talk to on the boards and what we had shared. I miss the feeling that came with it as well. So If You're still around, or planning on making a comeback, make yourself known again. Or in other words, just say Hi Ren

  20. Somewhat true. its from a daggermouth song. It goes something like this "Ain't no party like a Daggermouth party cause a daggermouth party dont stop!!!.. What's up all you two timing bitches, daggermouth's here to set the record straight, representing rain city canada where the sun don't shine, skooling kids since 2004. Gonna take ur girl, your sister and your mom so watch your back, daggermouths coming to your city to show u how its done!" Ren
  21. "Representing Rain-city canada where the Sun dont shine!"
  22. They are so good. I want them to come to rain city. I know for sure they are good friends with another local band here called Daggermouth. http://www.myspace.com/daggermouth. They're touring US again for the 5th or 6th time this last 12 months. maybe they'll play a show together. I love their hardcore influences and breakdowns. its unique. Ren
  23. yeah but if u get at it too hard u might get rug burn. that might increase the risk
  24. Im straight. But i do gay things sometimes (understatement). Sometimes i wish i were really gay. Cause theres nothing nothing like sitting down with ur gay friend, watching a football or hockey game, drinkin beers Or goin out and pumping iron. At least you have things in common. But the biggest challenge is actually being gay and having a gay friend but not being gay with each other. I mean a little stroking here and there is okay but it sure as hell aint gay!!! Disregard what i just said. Im straight as a a rocket Ren
