Paramore Takes It To The Next Level!

Hot Topic Since their debut, All We Know was released in 2005, Paramore has been building a huge "next big thing" buzz. Their energetic live shows and charismatic frontwoman, Hayley Williams, have attracted an increasingly devoted fan base. But it hasn't come without hard work. Ever since the band started out in 2004, they've been completely dedicated to the music and have been consistently touring. They may be young, but they know exactly what they want.

Most bands find it difficult to follow up such a praised debut album, but Paramore faced the challenge head-on and are breaking through to new heights with their sophomore release, Riot! Guitarist Josh Farro explains, "The first few years everything was new to us and we made a name for ourselves as a band in a lot of places. But with Riot!, we're really ready to blow people's minds." It only takes one listen to the new album to see the band's growth over the past two years. The music is much richer, deeper and intense, but still possesses the trademark melodies that fans have grown to love.

Hot Topic"For us, the title 'Riot!' literally means an unbridled outburst of emotions. When we were writing, it seemed like our thoughts and emotions were coming out so fast that we couldn't control them. It felt like there was a riot within us. So the album takes our passion to a new level; it's just all raw energy," Hayley explains. A great example of that captured raw energy is the song "Misery Business." Hayley asked fans to post what they're ashamed of on the band's Live Journal page and she "found that people really were reaching out to someone to spill their guts to," she recalls, "So I did the same thing lyrically in the song and let everything out. It's more honest than anything I've ever written, and the guys matched that emotion musically." It's the chemistry band members share and the connection with their fans that has enabled them to take it to the next level.

Paramore made a huge debut onto the scene and it's clear with their second release that they've got staying power. There's something special about this band. "We all have such a love and passion for this music," states Josh. "We're lucky to have made such a connection with our fans that we're making a difference in their lives." Hayley adds, "We want everyone to hear this album. We want to take it as far as we can. Riot! is everything we ever wanted to say on one album. If it all ended today, this is what we'd want to be remembered for."
