  1. For Hayley: There are a lot of girls who look up to you for many reasons. What is your overall advice to teen girls?
  2. thank you.. you're right..it's really not worth arguing about. There are plenty of other people that share the same all positive opinions about Paramore..but then there are people with diverse opinions and it's really not fair to pick on them. Haha. and anyway, I think Paramore would be a little weirded out if all their fans knew everything about them and had no real criticism about anything about them. If I didn't know you guys..and you were practically worshiping me, I'd say you were either sucking up..or out to murder me or something.
  3. I actually think the "My Hero" cover was pretty decent, though nothing compares to the Foo Fighters edge. I think it would have been better if they had made it more like the original instead of acoustic.
  4. haha no offensive at all but you guys are creeping me out
  5. yeah I guess it happens to a lot of people..but Paramore is the band I'm the most infatuated with, and I'm not really that active on the boards and I know basically nothing about the members of Paramore. I guess there are different levels of "obsession". I'd say I'm more keane on the music rather than cute Hayley & Josh moments trivia. Meh. I guess that's just me.
  6. THANK YOU. I'm glad there's at least ONE other person here who isn't completely head over heels obsessed with Paramore.
  7. For the most part, I really respect the fact that you guys can be civil discussing opinions about Paramore..but some of you are overly defensive and it's honestly...funny. I don't know how this is relevant to the coversation at hand, but I guess I just noticed it.
  8. hahah Ashlee Simpson.. I'm sorry. You're right..she's a hell of a lot more talented live..but I think it would be more impressive if she tried a little harder to sound like the recordings. I don't listen to music for emotion, personally, I can get all those emotions by myself..but I want to hear great vocals when I go to shows.. in that recording from Fat Tuesday's or whatever (I don't know if that's what it is..but it came to my computer that way) she totally fucks up the entire song "Emergency" I was really disappointed. She's sounded a lot better.. I don't think she gets enough air to sustain the great vocals we hear elsewhere. It's really hot on those stages too, trust me, I've been there. You come off the stage like you just came out of the shower. Given the situation, I'd say she does the best she can.. that was one big ramble haha.
  9. you rock. I'm so weird..just trying to find out more about you by going through your old posts. blah.
  10. second that. People on here act like Paramore are GODS are something. I'm glad to hear a non-paramore directed positve opinion.
  11. I think I will..as soon as I become..unsick. ugh sniffles. hate them. yeah. didn't you say you were going to re-do "Pressure"? Do you have AIM? Myspace? Hit me up.
  12. request? I think YOU should do "Franklin" and sing with me Haha but if not..these are the songs my band has experience covering 1. "Here We Go Again" 2. "Never Let This Go" 3. "My Heart" 4. "Hallelujah" 5. "Oh Star" and we're just starting "Conspiracy"
  13. I didn't say ALL the songs were studio enhanced..but when you're an experienced musician..your ear picks up things that maybe other people don't. A few of high notes on AWKIF sound computerized..no doubt..but I'm not saying she's studio made. Studio made and studio enhanced are two completely different things. She has a great voice, no denying it, but you can tell (if you've been in and out of the recording studio as I have) that she does have some help with her voice at times. As for the acoustic version of "Hallelujah", you picked a bad song to defend her voice. The first high note she sings.."somehow everything's gonna fall" is sharp. I'm not trying to diss on Hayley either, so all you crazy defensive fans don't freak out. It's a FACT that it IS sharp..just listen. Don't get me wrong..I love Hayley's voice..everything..but she may be somewhat enhanced (and there's nothing wrong with that). As for seeing her live. I have..both times I saw her, she shyed away from that high note.. all I'm saying is...maybe she can't do it as well live as on the recording.. that's all. Don't flip out and yell at me..I mean no harm against her. By the way-- I completely agree that SOME of the acoustic recordings are better than the studio ones but never have I seen..or heard a live recording that was anything remotely like the album. Live..she sings a lot of the songs too low..and boyish..but I think that's only because she's not getting a big enough breath beforehand..so it's really not her fault.. blah..anyway..that's all I have to say for now.
  14. yeah...so I heard there's an acoustic version of the song floating around somewhere. If you have it, please hook me up? Haha, I hope she actually sings the high note in the chorus instead of crapping out on it with a medocre, low-version of the "know". That would be cool, and proof to us in doubt, that she actually isn't (for the LEAST part) studio enhanced. Yup.
  15. were you the one doing the vocals in the other cover thread where it was just you singing pressure for a little bit' date=' if so you should sing over my instrumental version it would sound really good.[/quote'] haha a little late but yes, that was me, and I would LOVE to.
  16. How could anyone ever compare Avril and Hayley. Blah. They're not even on the same page of person. Avril Lavigne says a lot of things that she can regret (Britney Spears dogging..etc) and I don't think Hayley follows the whole celebrity thing.
  17. I kind of miss it when she looked like "just one of the guys".
  18. If you make more I just might record vocals for them. hehe
  19. Yeah, I guess a lot of people can't handle hearing an opinion different from their own. I really appreciate you guys being respectful though. Right on.
  20. Honestly..I'm not trying to be mean or anything..but how many of you have had professional music training? How many of you can distinguish between notes by ear? I'm not saying I'm better than you.. not at all.. But I do know what I'm talking about. People with no musical training can't really tell flats from sharps and bad singing, that's why they have "SOOO" many good comments on their myspace. Plus, there is such a thing as sucking up to the band. I really don't trust the people who comment on band myspaces. Most of the time they're only trying to promote themselves or their band. As for "straining her voice night after night", if she's properly stretching her voice before AND after a show, then she should have a perfectly healthy sound every night. It's kind of unfair to say that people shouldn't sound like their albums. That would be kind of false advertising, wouldn't it? I mean..you buy the album because you like the recordings..and you go to shows to hear what you heard on the album. Well-practiced musicians will sound just like the recordings. When I went to see Heart live, Ann Wilson's voice sounded just as amazing as the CD's, and it definitely wasn't lip-syncing to a track either. Also, Chiodos, (though rumors surround them and they are kind of jerks) I can't deny that they sound awesome live. I'm not saying that Paramore isn't awesome, and I'm not trying to offend any of you AT ALL, so please don't take this reply the wrong way, but I just think Paramore (not just Hayley..the problem isn't just Hayley) should take a month or two off tour and really evaluate and practice their music before going out and sounding half-assed. A lot of the songs are played double-time, which is also probably why Hayley doesn't sound so great sometimes. You subconsciously write a song with pauses (to catch your breath in between lyrics) and when the song is sped up as in double-time, then it hardly gives you time to prepare for the next line. I try to be as fair as possible with these statements. I've seen Hayley sing like an angel..sounded very nearly like the album (with neat little added quirks to some songs), and I've heard some disappointing sets. I've heard a Josh forget to come in..but I've heard him right on the money, too. They're a GREAT band, but I think they could do better live. Anyway..on with my critics. Also, it would be nice if Hayley learned how to use her mic, instead of pulling it away from her face before she's finished singing a line. She does it often and it really takes away from her performance. I understand that it's hard to sing properly and still have great stage presence, but it's really not THAT difficult if you PRACTICE at it. And anyway..I'd rather hear good music and see mediocre presentation than the other way around. After all..they're making a living creating MUSIC, not looking cool on a stage. Also..I'm not saying that this is their fault..but they should do a piece of every song at the sound check to make sure the levels are right. It looks unprofessional (though it needs to be done, kudos to them for doing it) to have to fix the levels in the middle of a show. Not enough time to do a bit of all the songs on the set? Come early. These kids are musicians, we buy their merch, support their albums, come to their shows, we expect them to do their best to be good. I'm not even going to get into anything else. I think this is my final response to this topic. Thank you guys so much for reading and respecting my opinions. I actually didn't expect that, so thanks again. And again..this was not meant to steam anyone's kettle if you know what I mean, so don't get offended if something came out wrong. We're all friends here. Peace Paramore fans.
