  1. you guys dont understand the final reason for a single. It is to get maximum exposure in top 40 radio panel. Some songs fit that format and others do not. In other words as much as I love let the flames and Fences to compete, that chart is so competitive with a lot of hip hop stars and Beyonce and Alicia Keys. The radio stations always go with the sound of her station. I think we all would like to have this chart get a lot hipper and allow more diversity in music. End game is to have a song that will last a long time and appeal to the most people. Good news is we have a lot of great songs and people seem to be more open to this band after MIZMIZ AND CRUSH. Paramore are a stand alone band in a market of a lot of generic music, not to mention they can actually perform these songs live with a very close rendition. Hope this helps clean up the single dillema.
  2. The quality of the recording at any live show is rough to listen to. As these shows are very important for historical reasons they need to be heard correctly. Its a fact that Beyonce sings her grammy vocal BEFORE the show and dubs it in. I mean does anyone think she runs around and dances all over the stage and actually sings like that? IMPOSSIBLE. Does anyone think that U2 have no live keyboard tapes and vocals running live? wrong, they have tons!! Does anyone really think there is not post production in most TV shows? Of course there is. Its not neccessarily that bands cant pull it off, its really all about the environment they play in and the acoustics. Just watch Zac play any song, look fake to you??? NO WAY. In this instance if you listen closely you will notice the drums are slamming as they do every night and Hayley might have some extremely minor post production, we all know she can sing live and has an amazing consistency rate. Its pretty amazing when you think of how active she is on stage. She s one of a few that can pull it off, Hayley is the real deal, make no mistake. As far as the band, they are tight, any work done there would be peripheral and minor to the sounds off the stage. I work with many bands, Breaking Benjamin, Red Jumpsuit, Chiodos, Hawhorne heights blah blah. As far as performance goes Hayleys bullseye rate is way up there in the scheme of tuning and attitude combined. Fact is I mixed the show on the same console the record was made on. Thats why it has all the punch. As you can hear the arrangements were different for live, the video sinks up because this band is really playing. They have spent years at their craft and also learned a iot in the studio when we recorded. They learned some dynamics, groove, and proficiency in consistency. Please do not take away all the hard work they have done in the studio and on their own time. This band is young, hungry and perfectionists. They really care what their audience thinks and only want to get better at what they do. Any extra work was all done was incidental minor increments. It still sounds exactly like paramore to me, Its just a more controlled version. I personally happen to like all versions of this band both raw and produced. Either way you get PARAMORE! The key to the tight show was really a combination of their playing and what I do in post. They are also using a way better controlled stage environment. I saw the band in Sayreville on Tues, they were really fantastic and that had nothing to do with trickery. or post production. We all know they deliver live or the tour would not be sold out would it? Try not to forget that Paramore are perfectionsists in every sense of the word and would never try to do anythng that would comprimise their integrity. This was a very important show, one of historical significance, we were not going to be at the mercy of the club, the monitors or the acoustics in the room. The plan was to be the best they could and they delivered in fine form. It sinks up for a reason, because they played and sung it!! These are the facts, thanks or reading this, David Bendeth (producer/MIXER and believer in true greatnes)

I like this band, i think I produced the song "right now".
  4. Paramore is now top 10 , 19-10* http://w2.mediabase.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/Charts.asp?format=r3R&showtopn=500&cutoff=1
  5. He got his facts wrong, I was a sub in Teenage Head, I was never "in" the band. Their guitar player had an accident, I filled in. no biggie.
  6. well you wont read about this in NME will you? LOL
  7. I saw the last thing, now the best thing. Mine was a cheeseburger and fries from here: http://www.webersdowntowner.com/
  8. I think the older I get the more immature I am becoming. I have to stop being so crass and recant my more mature days as an adult. I apologize profusely for the lack of finnese and arduos bedside manner. I am commited to being more responsible and tactful in my facetious nature towards people I distdain so immensely. Thanks for the gentle reminder. I appreciate your forthright candor.
  9. Allowing inappropriate and suggestive journalism to be presented to the public in a derogatory way should be monitered a little more carefully. Chief editors read over these articles. I have no problem with the press slamming a CD, its when they personally slam people I start to have a problem. I am sorry some of you disagree with me. I guess any press is good press and I guess I really need to come to grips with aliens eating children in back yards, The UFOS that fly over my house and eat dogs and Bigfoot. I saw all that at the supermarket yesterday and yes people were buying it. Sells mags.
  10. Dean, I have nothing to do with promoting the band at all, But I am sure they will do a world tour at some point. I hope they do. My fave song to work on was Fences and my fave song to mix was Crushx3 becuase when I was finished mixing it I freaked out and went...wow this is cool! ps likedays:.. Its normal to hate something then love it. I think its safe to say that you feel that way about anything you truly love, once the passion is there it makes your emotions go nuts. There was so much anticipation, like air being let out of a balloon.
  11. My fave song?? wow, hmm thats tough. I really like Thats what you get and I love Born and Misery. So in that order. Josh learned all his guitar parts at once. He truly practiced every day for hours. He had a huge work load, more than most. He ran into a few minor problems here and there , but in the end he aced it. There was never a time when I doubted his talent. He knew what he had to do and he treated this very seriously. Hayley was the same way. I did an interview today with KOAR and talked about a funny Paramore story. http://www.kingsofar.com/
  12. I think I completely under estimated the power of the Chorus. I was not sure that it was the best it could be. I was very wrong and when the CD came out, everyone got it instantly. The moral of the story is ..Even producers can mis- calculate the strength of a song. You cant be right all the time. The band were very tolerant of my thoughts.
