  1. Well I would say that people are just listening to more and more bad quality music. As in they prefer to buy digital albums in bad quality as mp3 and a lot of people use iPods to listen to their music. So people are not that interested in the quality of music they are listening (and I don't mean if its a good or bad album) to. But to my satisfaction it seems that something like vinyl records have experienced a return. Although I don't myself have one, but would consider one when I can afford it It is a sad tendency that people wants to listen to their music in a bad quality. An mp3 (which most digital downlads are) is and never will be as good quality as a CD. Another thing is the nostalgic part of it. I mean I just went through my collection the other day and all my CDs have their history and I can touch and feel them and they have a cover. Actually reminds me of my brother who used the cases (with cover) as posters that was kind of awesome.
  2. Yeah at least they argument for their rankings. And among 200 albums you will find some disappointments. I like Kid A and Funeral (by Arcade Fire), but what Daft Punk i doing there is something I don't understand. I guess they have changed their mind to that album, since they gave it a not so favorable review when it was released.
  3. Yeah I agree. It's brilliant music, but good enough to listen to once in a while. I remember I bought mine in a Virgin shop in Paris and almost good it roped by some drunk frenchman in the subway
  4. Game Of The Day Russia vs Germany Liechtenstein vs Azerbaijan Rep Ireland vs Italy Finland vs Wales Ukraine vs England Slovakia vs Slovenia Czech Rep vs Poland Denmark vs Sweden Estonia vs Bosnia Serbia vs Romania Norway vs South Africa Australia vs Holland Argentina vs Peru Ecuador vs Uruguay Belgium vs Turkey
  5. I was just going through my cd collection and found an album that I now really despise and cannot believe I bought, a french house/techno band called Cassius and the album 1999, actually bought while I was in Paris. But also found a cool album that I haven't listened to in years. That is Silverchair - Neon Ballroom. An album I can recommend to everyone.
  6. Damn i forgot to play now 3 rounds behind. Strange cause I have been looking in this thread the previous week.
  7. I'm looking forward to it, but they won't show it here, so have to wait 6 months or so. Everything with Ellen Page is more or less interesting.
  8. As Lee mentioned Pitchfork has made a list of the best albums of the decade (in their opinion) and now they have reached the last twenty: http://pitchfork.com/features/staff-lists/7710-the-top-200-albums-of-the-2000s-20-1/ What is your opinion ?
  9. Drag Me To Hell - Alison Lohman apparently likes Paramore
  10. I'm unoficially going to avoid any football until next year, maybe even next summer. What a disaster.
  11. I got my taste from my siblings. Back when the cassette tapes were high and wild. So I have listened a lot to AC/DC, Queen and Beach Boys. Especially Queens Greatest Hits II on vinyl records. And then came the 2 Unlimited days
  12. Then it would be Backstreet since they are the ones that I can singalong to. I actually liked that song "Everybody" - it's the one where they are mumies, vampires etc. right?
  13. Hmm, actually I don't like any of them that much. Backstreet boys were played non-stop while N'Sync actually didn't have quite as much air time and I would say I can remember more Backstreet songs than N'Sync. I can actually only remember that Bye,bye, bye song by N'Sync. But the girls my age were crazy about Backstreet, maybe that's why I didn't fancied them so much or Take That for that sake.
  14. Speaking of first record you bought. Mine was 2 Unlimited you know that dutch dance/techno band. Actually bought their first two albums. Now I can't stand that type of music, but actually still have the albums now that I think about it.
  15. Fuck I'm mad today. Some idiot stole my chuck shoes while I was in the gym. So now I'm wondering if I should install GPS in my shoes and if something steals them, present them to my little baseball bat.
  16. Only problem is just that its a list for this decade
  17. Yeah you might have a point. Although I was actually surprised that they have had quite a few hiphop/rap artist. I bet that it will be Radiohead and probably Kid A. They are kind of Radiohead lovers, I think it is 3 of the albums they have given 10. But it is also the boring choice.
  18. Yeah I have seen it. I would say that they have become weaker. They we're actually great one time and they also have some great taste still, BUT the last couple of years they have been leaning more to the electronic side. Not that I hate all electronic music, but it's been kind of the formula to get a good review on the site. But they still write well written reviews although it's not always I agree with them. But I was really disappointed with their best songs for decade list. Outkast as first, yeah right. From the list I really like The Thermals (who are on my list ). And well they have Arctic Monkeys. Nick Cave can also be pretty awesome at times, although he's a sick motherfucker. Okkervil River are great too. Damn I forgot about Deerhunter, they would definitely be on my list. Bradford Cox is da bomb.
  19. Yeah they would be good choices. Especially Åkerlund could be tempted I think.
  20. Sure I agree. It's just the first thing I was thinking of was that exact band. Most of these teen bands sound the same and are of course inspired by each other. And agree with your last lines, it wasn't a criticism of the band as so, just a comment.
  21. ^lol Lee I don't really like the videos either, but I can understand that in the beginning of their carreer they used themselves in the videos as to make themselves visible and marketing themselves. If they want a director with a lot of talent they should use Michel Gondry, but the chance of getting him is as high as me winning in the lottery, it ain't gonna happen.
  22. Haha, yeah I will be checking them out but on youtube/myspace, since I can't use Spotify in my country.
