Scott!
I confess that I will definitely listen to it!
Harry
I just have to learn how to do death metal vocals now:shifty:
Scott!
Josh is in Australia, isn't he? Just kidding. He's not on the tour. Maybe Hayley knows how to sing death metal. Ok, done being lame.
Harry
Wait, I'm so confused. Is Josh taking time off for THIS tour, or the next tour they do?
Scott!
Only the spring tour I think.
Harry
Well it's not even fall (remember our seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere) here anyway yet, so I'll assume Josh is going to playing the Australian concerts
Scott!
I am confused then. Maybe this is a different tour that they are on. Uhhhh...here's the quote from one of Josh's blog posts: "So, as weird as it is to stay behind, I need to take some time off to plan the wedding and everything. Because of that I will not be joining the guys on the pacific rim tour coming up. "
Harry
Hmm, Pacific Rim? I guess that means Taylor's brother will be at the show filling in for Josh at the concert that I'm going too next week
Scott!
That means California too. Darn. Taylor's bro is probably a great guitarist anyway though.
watchthesky
i think josh is back for the US dates, it's just the current 'overseas' tour he's not doing
Harry
It's really weird that his brother happens to know how to play Paramore well enough to be able to stand in for band member haha. I guess there must be a whole bunch of guys that know Paramore songs inside out backwards in the hope of being able to fill in for a guitarist one day lol
Scott!
Yeah, luckily for them. lol
Harry
Regardless, it will be a good show anyway. As long as the dude knows how to play, it's not such a loss
captain.obvious
It's really weird that his brother happens to know how to play Paramore well enough to be able to stand in for band member haha. I guess there must be a whole bunch of guys that know Paramore songs inside out backwards in the hope of being able to fill in for a guitarist one day lol They really aren't the most difficult songs in the world to play lol. Honestly in a week you could be a master of their entire catalogue well enough to tour with them.
Harry
I think a week is a little bit of an exaggeration haha. I mean it's not exactly Between the Buried and Me or Necrophagist, but it ain't the Ramones either lol
captain.obvious
Well it depends I guess, all of Taylor's parts you could master in a week. Josh's might take you a little longer, but honestly when I tried to learn paramore songs I could learn the lead part in prob an hour or so. I wouldn't say I was the master of my domain at it, but I could play it fairly well. The only song thats really the least bit difficult is let the flames begin, but once you learn it its actually really fun.
Harry
Well I agree it doesn't take long at all to "learn" the songs. But I usually spend weeks and weeks constantly refining the little details and getting the timing dead on after I've learnt the songs as such, which is the difference between an okay performance and a really good one. I played all the down tuned songs on my 7 string guitars as well, so I had to figure out how to play stuff that was in drop C# on my 7 string that is tuned E standard, but just with a lower B string on the bottom
captain.obvious
Yeah, thats true. I guess youre always refining though, eventually it just becomes muscle memory though, thats how a lot of complex guitar parts are for me. I have no idea what im doing when i play the stairway to heaven solo but I can do it.
Harry
I never bothered learning Stairway to Heaven, I'm sick of hearing it lol. It's weird, before I listened to Paramore the lightest music I played on guitar was probably Iron Maiden lol, and I mainly played thrash metal and groove metal. Playing Paramore strangely enough exposed weaknesses in some areas of my playing. Of course it didn't take long to get used to it all, but you'd think if you can play metal, you can play rock too, but it doesn't always work that way lol
Wildman
I confess that I'm watching Family Guy.
captain.obvious
Haha stairway is so fucking fun though. I go through phases with what I play on guitar, every once in a while I say fuck my electric guitars and go back to playing acoustic too.
Harry
I own a classical guitar, but I don't play it, and I don't own any steel acoustics, so electric guitar all the way for me. Currently I've been learning Paramore, Opeth and also been relearning Rage Against the Machine

Harry
I really need to get cracking on my own stuff. I write a few riffs and then get side tracked and play something else , arghh.
