  1. I confess I had reasons, most of which are good reasons, for not being on. Been busy as shit lately and haven't had a lot of time to be online lately

Thanks Shut up idiot <3 It's pretty much doom and gloom. Despite the fact the band is full of the most upbeat guys you'll ever meet, but yeah haha.

I see not much has changed. Still whining, still complaining.

I am alive. Went to Soundwave festival last Friday, Paramore were on the festival bill, so yah I got drunk and went and saw them play. Also I joined a band as lead guitarist, but music probably isn't to the taste of most people here. Because you touch yourself at night
  5. Wow, I forgot this place existed. Apparently my last post was in 2011, wow. So yeah, heyyyyyyyyyyyy guys, what up
  6. Eeeeeeehh yeahhh..........no. I've honestly never liked that look on any female. Hopefully this is just a phase haha
  7. I have been through phases of favorite songs changing all the time, but I've noticed Let The Flames Begin, Careful, Decode and Emergency tend to be my most consistent favorites and I'm quite sure Monster will have enough staying power to join that list
  8. Not bad. Tempo is a bit slow. Overall arrangement is not bad, but doesn't totally hit me. The arpeggios can get a bit overbearing at times, but understandably with one instrument you'll tend to strive to fill as much space as possible. You wont please everyone, not totally my thing, but I can see how others would really like the arrangement. Good job : )
  9. Guess I'll be listening to this about 10-20 times a day for a while now. Gonna have to go learn it on guitar now too! Even after just hearing the song twice now, it's already in my top 5 Paramore songs list (the others being Emergency, Decode, Let The Flames Begin and Careful)
  10. Wuttt? Pretty sure the band has a lot of songs in E standard and also drop Db (well, drop C#, same thing heh) tuning/s. Interesting how rarely the band uses E minor as the key signature for their music, even though it's typically the 'easy' choice in rock and metal for bands that tune to E standard, since you can make use of the open E strings and the easy fingering of an E power chord on the low E. And then it seems when the band goes to finally make another song in E minor, many years after their only other song in E minor released in 2005 (All We Know), they go all drop C on our ass Kinda cool how it gives the chorus a genuine heavy rock feel, a major departure from their pop punk roots. Made me think of Evanescence, a band that uses a lot of E minor, but is dropped tuned to hit those lower power chords and notes
  11. I feel embarrassed for not knowing Taylor could play drums. Goddamn, what a talented band. Maybe not super hyper virtuosos, but shit, it's not easy being able to play multiple instruments to a very good standard. I guess many of them have been influenced by the Dave Grohl mentality of "learning one instrument ain't enough!", which is no shock, since if you're into alt rock, chances are Grohl is a hero of yours anyway haha.
  12. I admit to the "go get your chauffeur" one as well, except that I didn't incorrectly hear the last part, so it was "go get your chauffeur, and we'll dig a deep hole" in my head. It just seemed like a totally nonsensical line, and couldn't get my head around what the hell it would possibly mean. That's the first one that comes to mind, I'm sure there's more that I'll remember, but I haven't really sat down and actually listened to whole Paramore songs lately, so will do that and come back to this thread
  13. Tis the nature of forum boards. People are going to be vocal about their opinions sometimes, nothing unusual.
  14. I only really listen to Emergency and My Heart from AWKIF. Pressure" and "Brighter (Brighter was actually the first Paramore song I learnt to play on guitar) are fun songs to play on guitar occasionally but I never actually sit down and listen to those songs anymore really. The album overall, I'd give it a 5/10. The song writing on Riot! definitely seems more 'dynamic' I guess you could say. Tracks I don't really listen to would be Hallelujah, Miracle, We Are Broken and When It Rains. The latter two especially tend to just make me cringe. They seem to be pretty decent songs live, but I can't listen to them on the studio album at all. The music of the song itself is awesome, but I have to definitely block out those lyrics On Misery Business. Horrible lyrics at best, easily the worst lyrics on any of the songs off Riot!. Let the Flames Begin is definitely my favorite off Riot!, in my top 3 favorite Paramore songs perhaps. Overall album score, 7.5/10 As for Brand New Eyes, it has my favorite of theirs on it, Careful. I remember when I first heard it, was just blown away by how good the song writing was. It's a fantastic and highly interesting song to listen to even as an instrumental and it's just the icing on the cake with the vocals added in. Although the same could be said of pretty much almost the whole album, they really got the instrumental aspects of it down very well, and when the vocals are added in, it's fantastic. Some things I didn't like about the album : That bit around 2:54 on Looking Up where it almost sounds like the song is going to end. I think that extra outro section (which is basically just the bridge section again) was just unnecessary and could have been left out, just doesn't add anything to the song at all IMHO. Also that blatant pop punk bit in Where the Lines Overlap kinda bugs me, the "Sing it back to me" bit. That bit probably would have just sounded a lot better if there were no vocals there, as the music behind it is cool. The outro of the song is really cool, but the song overall is a little weak. Overall score, 8.5/10
  15. Well, I just don't make new topics about stuff I'm interested in simply because they aren't going to go anywhere. Maybe 5 responses at most, heh. As for the whole Twitter/Tumblr thing causing members of PF to stop posting/losing interest, I don't really buy that so much. Admittedly I'm not really clued up about how Twitter/Tumblr work, since I'm the kinda person that is always very late to join social networking sites (and that's if I even bother at all), but seriously, I really don't think they have much to do with the decline of members posting here. Even when there WASN'T new Paramore news, the regulars still came here and posted all the time anyway. Also, some former regular members people have become quite disinterested in Paramore as of late, so they are probably aren't checking what the band is posting on Twitter, let alone coming to this board for news. Hence why I don't buy the Tumblr/Twitter much at all. It has to do with OVERALL interest in the board itself, nothing to do with lack of news or whatever. I've spoken to Kayla aka "watchthesky", which many of you would know as someone who used to spend hours and hours here, just posting and having conversation with others in the profile message thing, and well it doesn't seem like she has any intention of really ever coming back, at least not any time soon anyway. Why? Partly because she isn't an avid fan of the band like she used to be, and just generally she isn't that interested in this board anymore. And I have no doubt she is hardly the only one that feels that way. If people feel that way, just let it be really. I quite honestly thing that sending emails isn't really going to draw people back here. If people want to come back here on their own accord, they will. If not, then that's just how it's going to be really. I think it's just really the reality of band specific forums anyway. I regularly post at Ultimatemetal.com, which is a board that has a ton of official forums for quite a fair bit of metal bands, and some of the forums are outright dead, or at most someone might post in there every couple of months. The boards I post at far more regularly are always the more broad ranged type ones and in general, those type of forums/boards are typically much more active than stuff that is much more specific. Even some of the more active ones generally don't get anywhere near as much responses as the General Metal Discussion forum.
  16. I'm in that minority crowd that has a tendency to like their most recent album most, then Riot! and then AWKIF finishing in last, so if this shows genuine progression in their sound, I'll most likely dig it
  17. In before you needed to send me an email heh. Well, get ready for another "Harry brings you his famous wall of text huge post" type post. That's if you even remember me for that, seeing as how I haven't been around for quite a while, heh. It hasn't been because of the cosmetic change. That would be quite frankly a really shallow reason to stop coming to a forum board. I don't give a shit about the cosmetic change, it looks fine to me. Who cares if there's cosmetic change if the discussion is still interesting and plentiful anyway? A cosmetic change of a forum board wouldn't stop me from coming if that were the case. Unfortunately, I feel it is the case that there is virtually no real interesting discussion. I still lurk now and then, and a few times came close to logging in to reply to something, but just didn't bother really. I just don't really have much to contribute to any of the topics. Looking in the Everything main section, let's see what we've got : I don't care about the Grammy awards, or who wins or doesn't win. I don't know what "Jeopardy" is. I don't really know what the whole Live Journal thing is about and lastly, I don't own any Paramore merchandise and have no plans to buy any, at least not any time soon. New EP Topic, that's interesting I suppose, something I could post in maybe after I finish typing this up. Guess it also doesn't help that I can't relate to a lot of the general musical taste on this board, which means I don't have much to say in the "Other Music" forum either. I can't sit there all day and post in the "The Confession Thread" or "The Rant" threads or whatever. There are other forum boards that move much faster that offer me much more interesting stuff to read on a much more regular basis, or provide me with me more lulz and well also the fact life in general is just busier for me now and I'm not on the computer anywhere near as much as when I first started posting at this board. Sometimes people just move on and find other things, something you guys just gotta accept, not just this forum board, but life in general. I still talk to some of the former regulars here on other places, and it doesn't seem like they have any intention of coming back here any time soon, if at all. I still listen to Paramore and their albums, as I do a whole ton of other bands and albums, and still almost always play at least one Paramore song a day on guitar, so its nothing against the band. Maybe I might post a cover of one of their songs if I get around to it. I may still log in from time to time, but don't see myself making even a once a weekly appearance, let alone daily
  18. Notsureifsrs. Hayley can play guitar, keyboards/piano and drums as well. Could hardly say either Avril or Hayley are virtuosos on those particular instruments. Their (Avril and Hayley) primary strength is quite obviously in the vocal department.
  19. What is with everyone and the "I want the next album to be positive" thing, seriously? If you bought an album and discovered some of the lyrical content has depressing/pessimistic/cynical themes, are you just going to throw it out of the window?
