I was actully just looking at the Nikon D60, and it looks pretty good. yeh its a good starter camera, but the main decision is cannon vs nikon, i mean im cannon every time, but nikon are cheaper. I would say Canon aswell, i was actually standing between the 450D and D60 when i bought mine, but i went with the 450D, haven't regretted it ever since. And yeah, i know what you mean, they're pretty expensive. ive got all my lenses and stuff still, but the body is cracked straight through the rear display, and the case is shattered, it just dont work. so im stuck without a camera, shame the 450D is kinda like the cheapest cannon worth buying.
