First off, what is up?!?!

I aint been around here in mega!!

Hope all the oldies still remember Jarrod haha,

and for those new people,

yea, well... That's me! =p

Anyways, I like to do this every year

towards the end of the year...

To ya know, get a reaction out of some people.

All in good fun ya know.

So yea lets give it a shot shall we??

Keep in mind, not all of these are 07 albums,

considering I sometimes stumble onto bands later

than I should have...

So don't hate people. ha.

25. The Starting Line - Direction

So I'm not completely sold on these emo doods. However, I do think it is a solid buy, or d/l or whatever the hell it is you ppl do. There are a few distinct tracks IMO and for that I think it ranks up there past a few that disappointed me... Which I will later asses.

24. Emery - I'm Only a Man

Another one that I was pretty excited to buy, and when I did... I sorta shrugged. To be honest I went thru it twice, and then threw in the older CD (The Question - 2006). Still, Emery is amazing, so they deserve to be in this list, even if it's #24. Better luck next time guys.

23. Still Remains - The Serpent

This band is truly great. Unfortunately, they like to have 3 or 4 amazing songs on a CD and then let the rest just sort of suck. Damnit, I hate when that happens! Still, for a band that has amazing talent (Like Real Talent), they definitely came out of nowhere for me. Metal-ish sorta band. So, I'm not sure any of you guys would dig it, ya dig?

22. Straylight Run - The Needles, The Space

Eeeeek! Definitely ranks right up there for me in "Most Disappointing." I definitely expected alot alot alot, considering I loved theyre older stuff, as well as the first single (Buttoned Down). Buttttttttttt, they decided to change directions, which may attract some people, but not me... So much anyway. Still liked a few tracks alot, but definitely not what I expected. Damn Expectations!!

21. The Almost - Southern Weather

I hate having this in my list, but after seeing them with Paramore last May, I listened to that album for like a month. So props to you guys! Good overall album. One or two great songs and then the rest is pleasant, if you catch my drift.

20. Madina Lake - For Them Through Us To You

Heard em, hated them! Went to a show they were supposed to play at, and they didn't show up. Buttttttttttt, and by that I mean but... Inbetween bands they were playing this band that sounded familiar. Like a Old MCR mixed with like something else I can't quite figure out! So I ask some kid next to me who's singing along, and he's like "this is Madina Lake! They were supposed to be here!" I could tell he was upset... So I went home, gave em another shot and loved them. I'm weird you guys!

19. Sound The Alarm - Stay Inside

Thanks Rachna! They are alot like what I've already heard, but shit... I liked it! ha. Funny thing about these dooods... I saw them at Warped '06' and the singer was completely wasted! Stumbling into the crowd, acting all dumb. Anyways, they sucked! A year later, I'm buying their album and singing along to it. I'm lame.

18. The Used - Lies for the Liars

Sort of disappointing. They have consistently decreased in "album goodness" as I like to put it. "The Used" was just amazing and then "In Love and Death" was just a step below, and "Lies for the Liars" is just following the trend. Good album, no doubt about it, just a little disappointing is all considering they are like a top 20 band for me.

17. Blaqk Audio - Cex Cells

So, just because you like AFI means you have to like B.A. Not true. I did like the album, but it's not AFI. Not even close. A few amazing songs, but I could seriously do without the first half of the album. Davey is still amazing though. (Period)

16. Band of Horses - Cease to Begin

Gotta love walking into a store and seeing something interesting... Going home, and d/l'n a few songs and falling in love. lol. This band is a bit odd, but they have something about em that just idk, I like.

15. The Birthday Massacre - Walking With Strangers

Hated their previous stuff, and to be honest I have no idea why I even listened to their new stuff. Maybe it's because 2007 seemed to be that kind of a year for me. Lots of "trying" and "giving things a chance." Anyways, this album is great, basically from start to finish, so I'm thinking you should like listen to it. fo real.

14. 50 Cent - Curtis

Ahhh, finally some hip-hop. This one goes out to my late-deceased friend Aaron. He introduced me to rap back in my middle school dayz, and I bought this shortly before he died in a car crash. Needless to say it was played alot the weekend of the funeral. Not only is it memorable for me, but I really liked the album alot too. AND!!! I hate Kanye West! So that sets it in stone.

13. Pierce the Veil - A Flair for the Dramatic

Saw em live. Liked them a bit. Bought the CD. Isn't that how it usually goes? haha. Good CD. I really liked it, and I listened to it alot. I think I sorta overdid it though, and now it just kind of sits there in my car. Not much play for the emo doods from cali no mo. =p

12. Nico Vega - No Child Left Behind EP

Stumbled. Actually stuck around on their myspace for more than one song... Good thing! I looked for them on Limewire for like a week, to no avail! So I gave in and bought the EP. Needless to say, their Myspace page doesn't get many hits from me anymore, but it's all good... I got the EP so I'm happy. This chick can really belt it you guys!

11. Blessthefall - His Last Walk

I know Kerrie likes these freaks! haha. They are mad good though, and that dude can wail with the best of em. Looks like a chick though which sorta freaks me out, but it's all good. Good workout music fo real. One of my random finds before Warped! TY Warped =p

10. The Dear Hunter - Act II - The Meaning of & All Things Regarding Ms. Leading

That's a mouthful. This one came out the same day as Riot, and little did I know that the album would kick off my top 10 of the year. When I got home I d/l there first album, and loved it... So then, I d/l the newer one and loved it too! I would like to put both of the albums on this list, but I'll settle for just this one I guess. Great all-around album, and "Receiving Ends of Sirens" should be sad they don't still have this dude singing for them. He's like in a different league compared to the dude that stayed. Seriously!

9. Coheed & Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Part 2

I have to stop listening to albums with long as hell titles! This one, I expected to be like 3 or 4, maybe even better... But, it let me down just a tad. The upside of this album... The first 5 songs just kill it! I mean they are like amazing beyond belief and then the CD just sort of spirals down. I mean its still a great CD, but those songs just leave you wanting so much more out of the album. Oh well, at least Claudio's storyline is complete. Now what Coheed??

8. Enter Shikari - Take to the Skies

Some bands take their EP's and destroy them. This band... Not so much. I'm in the CD store and I sort of like the band already, but I don't have the actual CD. So I buy it... Every song improved, and the ones I had never heard are amazing too. It's amazing how a band can improve so much for the actual album! Love these electro-hardcore wankers!!

7. The Used - Berth

yeayea, so I'm lame and have two albums from the same band on my lst. Whatever. This album, which is just a live album, with a live DVD is terrific. They prove just how amazing The Used is! LFTL has nothing on this album, and that's the truth! Live albums are either GOLD or CRAP, and this one was far from crap. BTW, I still havent seen The Used live! Seen 89 labelled bands in my life, but not once have I seen The Used! I suck.

6. I am Ghost - Lover's Requiem

Came out in 2006. Didn't find them till very early '07' and it was an amazing CD. I listened to that thing over, and over, and over again. The style really gets me. You always know its a good album, when months later you can still throw the thing in and listen to it from start to finish without hesitation. Classic album by these goth-punk-screamo doods (and one chick). If you haven't, please do.

5. Evaline - Postpardum Modesty EP

6 songs. That's all. And yet, it finds my top 5?? Holy hell!! The title track is like one of the best songs of the year! No Joke! The thing with this, every other song is just as good. The singer is brilliant (Little goofy on stage), and the drummer, for a band this style, is one of the best I have heard. Not many bands like this are extremely talented, but these doods are. Please get this EP! It is unreal! I cannot wait for an actual CD.

4. Saosin - Saosin

okokokokokokok. Came out last year! I know! But I was in denial that they were good, so I didn't buy the damned album till like January '07'... I know, I'm so lame. I'll admit it! Still, I don't care, I still listen to this thing like I just bought it, but somehow know all the words. New Saosin kills old Saosin, and you can shutup if you disagree... Can you tell I hate Circa?? haha. That dood can go OD for all I care =p... Actually, scratch that... They would become too famous if he OD'd... I don't want another "Nirvana" situation. Jeez wouldn't that suck!!

3. A Day To Remember - For Those Who Have Heart

It was a day to remember, or night I should say... I walked into a Border's of all places with my father and stepmom. And was just randomly looking thru CD's. Luckily Border's gives those little info cards on the Cd's on the top of their display. So I come to ADTR, and I read the little thing... It says something along the lines of, "For those who like poppy-punk melodies with hardcore breakdowns!!" So I bought the thing with no prior knowledge of the band! Gutsy... Yea that's me. As you can tell I was very happy with the random buy!

2. Paramore - Riot!

And you thought I'd forget about the band that brought us all here! "Sophomore Slump" or whatever they call it. Not so much here. Although AWKIF is still beast IMO. Riot, is a great all-around album with no flaws at all. Only a truly life-changing CD could beat this one. I know they are famous and whatever now, and that sorta sucks especially considering when I first started listening to them and "Google-searched" or "yahoo-searched" Hayley Williams, she wasn't even the first thing to pop up. It was some weird old lady named Hayley Williams and her family. Paramore sure has come a long way you guys. It is really sort of crazy to think about.

1. Protest the Hero - Kezia

Life-Changing.

No questions asked. When someone asks me what my favorite album is this year, Kezia. And yes, it came out in 2006, but I'm a loser yet again, and didn't find these heroes till early Spring, 07. In that case, Riot actually is the #1 album of the year. But, I'm going based on albums I found this year, within reason (Nothing before '06', I swear). I had the fortune of seeing these Canadian bastards live this fall and then hanging out with the doods (Primarily Rody, the singer), and it was awesome. Although they only played 6 songs, because they were the 2nd band to play in a 4-band show, it was still brutal to say the least. They mix so many different genres, that I get confused thinking about it, and Rody is by far one of the best male singers I have heard since Davey Havok! It takes something great to beat out Paramore, and Kezia, by PTH is it! New album - January, 08!

___________________________________

So I left off a few... Silverstein's new one... Disappointed the hell out of me! Comparing it to "Discovering the Waterfront" it's just a shame.

Eisley... This was one of my most anticipated albums of the year. So what the hell happened?? I suppose when a band gives you a "start-to-finish" amazing album, and then gives you an album, you just kind of shrug at... You're disappointed. Hence, I'm disappointed.

Metallica... Still no album?!?! Whatever.

-----------------------------------------

So, for those of you who don't know me...

Now you do, well sort of.

And for those of you who do,

well enjoy my list, and let me know what ya think...

I always enjoy stirring up a bit o' contro'

as you may all know.

So let's hear it!!

=p

P.S.

feels damn good to post

=)

oh and also,

I know its November...

Which means,

this list is subject to change.

Diego and Em... I thought like everyone here,

knows I hate those dooooods.

Ever since that first album hit when I was like a weeee

youngen, I despised...

Everyone in my class would sing it when it came

on the radio, and I'd just sit there, and crank my headphones,

which more than likely had some Metallica attached

or something badass and such.

=p

sorry for the letdown, but seriously, y'all should make up a list too!

get this thing going sheeeeeesh!

maybe dont detail as much as me, but im known for that shit!

=p

okkkkkkk. add some albums y'all want in there

and ill add my two cents.
