  1. For those of you who are active on LJ, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE join the LJ COMMUNITY. It is seriously so dead and I'm trying to bring it back to life and get the maintainer to hand it over to me, or at least give me mod status. Help me people! ALSO, if you're not on the street team JOIN IT. It's easy peasy and there's tons of awesome prizes up for grabs!
  2. ^A lot of it is the same stuff being posted over and over...questions about her natural hair color, her height, etc. Also stuff like the fashion thread gets a lot of posts.
  3. SRY GUYZ I CLAIM ZACK FROM ATL. His body is so pretty and chiseled haha.
  4. ^I see. Well yeah small world anyway, haha.
  5. Holy shizzzz I totally know a girl that lives in Yuba City.
  6. Oh yeah, I've only used the tea once and it was because I totally blew my voice out. I just wanted to know if the spray was worth it because then I could have something handy in my purse, because I blew my voice out and then had to go to work for like 8 hours and wasn't able to get any hot drinks to sooth it. Pretty much any hot drink will make me feel better. I know I used vic's vapor rub when I was younger, I need to see if we have any or I'll probably pick some up this week, I'd totally forgotten about that stuff!
  7. ^Haha I didn't think of that. Well water works but the problem is you have to drink SO MUCH water to keep your vocal chords and everything properly moisturized, and I use a humidifier at night as well to help but that only does so much ya know? It's super important for them to be moist so I figure if I need a little help and I can get it from the spray I might as well use it. I'm going to talk to my voice coach before I buy anything though.
  8. I'm an old JEW fan, and I'm not upset because I understand that Paramore are probably peeing themselves over this with excitement. We all know that Paramore are a bunch of humble, wholesome people who are probably just amazed at all that has happened to them this past year. And while Paramore haven't been around as long, they've worked their butts off and paid their dues and definitely deserve this.
  9. ^Well the Clear Voice product is all natural, so it's technically not cheating. I'd only use it during and after to class to keep my throat nice and coated since I obviously can't be singing & sipping hot tea haha. But yeah I do green & white tea with honey and that helps so so so much, but I need something to keep me moist DURING my lesson, ya know? Plus I have allergies, and it's always windy here so I've had problems with mucus and congestion, sorry if that grosses you guys out. I'm thinking of buying some sunbreeze oil for that, Brett Manning sells it on his site so I figure that's probably trustworthy.
  10. ^Holy shiznit! That's redonkulous. I bought mine on amazon.com the seller was The Vitamin Shoppe, their website is vitaminshoppe.com and they have the 100 count bottle for like $9. Have any of you guys tried any voice sprays? There's one called clear voice that I've considered, it's supposed to lubricate your throat and help with muscle fatigue but I'm kinda worried that it might be a rip off.
  11. It looks like she's at a day spa or something.
  12. I just ordered some...it was only about $2.50 for 24, that's not too bad.
  13. I think I read/saw somewhere that purple is her favorite...I'm not positive on that though.
  14. ^He did write for SNL. I wasn't aware that it was back, sorry about that. I know that he still wrote some of the stuff for his show but he had a writing team as well, maybe he's just taken on all the work now? And to get back on topic, if you don't get why this would screw up the grammys you can read my lengthy explanation on the first page.
  15. Have you not noticed that Conan is in re-runs because of the strike? That show has writers as well.
  16. Well I don't know how else to explain it. The writer's write what the host of the Grammy's would say/jokes presenters would tell, etc.
  17. ^Yeah they're getting attention, but that's not what they're looking for. They are trying to get their contracts changed and by having all the award shows cancelled & tv shows put into re-runs, it proves that without them hollywood is screwed. And it's way more than TV shows, the writers obviously write the scripts & jokes for the awards shows as well as some of the red carpet questions and jokes, as well as movies, and comedian's work. Pretty much all comedians have a writer or several, which a lot of people don't know. Sure they come up with some stuff of their own but not all of it. Kathy Griffin is one who rarely uses writers because her comedy is just stories about her life, but they write her one-liners when she works the red carpet.
  18. Well I hope that you guys all realize that this is a lot bigger than being about Paramore. The WGA is trying to make a point and get what they want and deserve, and this is the way the have to go about it. The nurses from one hospital in Las Vegas were on strike and wouldn't work, and the hospital had to bring in nurses from out of state and spend even MORE money...that's just the way these things are. Sometimes you have to go to extremes to get your point across. And it would be extremely disrespectful for the actors & such to cross the picket lines considering that without the writers they would be without work...
  19. Hmmm...I can't say how to help you with that, I didn't have that problem. Maybe it's just a matter of practice? Also, my throat is KILLING me. I strained it today and then had to talk all night at work and I have voice again tomorrow so I'm hoping it mellows out over night. My voice coach is incredible with natural remedies and I heard her telling this lady how to cure her freaking tonsilitis without going to a doctor the other day so I'm sure she'll help me out tomorrow haha. EDIT: Tea with honey REALLY helped, but I pretty much blew it out again tonight. I think I'm gonna keep talking to a minimum until my next lesson.
  20. I don't see what you mean by placing your voice. Do you mean like chest voice, middle voice, head voice? Or are you just not hitting the right notes?
  21. You could probs get one at like Target. If you wanted a skinnier or smaller one you can get them in the boy's section.
  22. Like what are you having problems with? When I first started some of the exercises were wonky, but once you start doing them it'll get way easier. And song scale ALWAYS screws me up. I know it's like 7 notes up and 6 back down but I worry so much about missing one that I screw up the whole scale.
