  2. So having some level of success makes you a money hungry, half-human puppet? I can think of a number of celebrities that are generally decent, caring, altruistic human beings. Yeah, there some celebrities who seem to have fame for no apparent reason, and the sort of following that celebrity gossip gets can often get out of hand. But if celebrity culture even ranks on your list of worldly ills, you're the one who needs to wake up.
  3. I'm there. Oh man, this year is going to be great, if this is any indicator.
  4. My envy cannot be properly expressed at the moment.
  5. Really? That does seem very nice. But from his interviews and various other press, he just doesn't come off as...the nicest person in the world. xD
  6. I woke up early on my born day, I'm twenty years of blessing The essence of adolescent leaves my body now I'm fresh in My physical frame is celebrated cause I made it One quarter through life some God-ly like thing created Got rhymes 365 days annual plus some Load up the mic and bust one, cuss while I puffs from my skull cause it's pain in my brain vein money maintain Don't go against the grain simple and plain When I was young at this I used to do my thing hard Robbin foreigners take they wallets they jewels and rip they green cards Dipped to the projects flashin my quick cash and got my first piece of ass smokin blunts with hash Now it's all about cash in abundance, niggaz I used to run with is rich or doin years in the hundreds I switched my motto -- instead of sayin fuck tomorrow That buck that bought a bottle could've struck the lotto Once I stood on the block, loose cracks produce stacks I cooked up and cut small pieces to get my loot back Time is Illmatic keep static like wool fabric Pack a four-matic that crack your whole cabbage Yes, I posted a verse. 'Cause Nas is amazing.
  7. I liked the new album. It wasn't bad at all, but I couldn't get in to it. Purely because of Pete Wentz. No offense to anyone, but he's the kind of douche-bag that makes me want to go chill and have a drink with Axl Rose. =/

    Nirvana

Are you thinking of All Apologies?
  9. Because some of us aren't blind to the fact that even our favorite bands can have REALLY shitty songs? Metallica's one of my favorite bands. I'd rather drive a fucking spike through my skull than listen to anything off of St. Anger.

    Nirvana

Nirvana, fuck yeah. The band that got me into music. Favorite album would be In Utero, of course. Favorite song goes to Aneurysm.
  11. That shouldn't stop you from listening to something as amazing as Nirvana. Just take comfort in the fact that you probably know the music much better than they do. =P Dude, I'm still scared of Mexican Seafood. And Beans from the boxset. I think people here have been confusing "average and cheesy" with "fucking awful." We Are Broken = average and cheesy. = fucking awful.
  12. Agreed 100%. In Utero actually is more raw, honest, and just overall better than anything else in Nirvana's discography. =P I know a kid at school that insists that Incesticide is their best record. It boggles the mind. lol
  13. I liked Riot!. lol It's really not THAT terrible. There's way worse shit out there, imo. I wonder if pre-1991 Nirvana fans were like this when Nevermind came out. "Man, fuck Nevermind! Bleach is so much more raw, honest, and just overall better!"
  14. The first time I heard All We Know Is Falling was during my freshmen year (2006). I went over to one of my friend's house, and she was really into Paramore at the time. She asked if I, "liked punk," which, if my username didn't give away, I really love punk. So she put the CD in, and within the first few seconds of All We Know, my hopes of hearing the next Minor Threat were gone. Once I got over that initial disappointment, I rather enjoyed it. Nothing amazing, but a good, catchy pop/rock record none the less. The next time I listened to Paramore was around the time Riot! blew up. I listened, and noticed a good bit of artistic growth (inspite of how horribly over-produced it was. But what else do you expect from Bendeth?), but I had a similar reaction when I finished listening: it was good, not great. I actually bought The Final Riot! though. They have one hell of a live show. So I guess you could call me a casual sort-of-fan?
  15. No, please, go on. These are the kinds of answers I'm looking for.
  16. C'mon! In the Aeroplane Over the Sea doesn't get even half as much credit as it deserves. *explodes*
  17. Okay. A lot of people here talk about this record as if it's some sort of modern masterpiece. Am I missing something here? By no means is it a bad record, but, it's not that great, either. For me, it feels like an average record by a band that shows a great deal of potential. An amount of potential that has still yet to be fulfilled. So I ask of you, please, explain to me why this record is so great. And don't take this as some sort of attack. I am genuinely curious.
