They're pretty much the same, only the 417 is chambered to fire the 7.62mm round, whereas the 416 is chambered to fire NATO 5.56mm. You can litterally bury those weapons in mud, sand, prob'ly even cement, then pull it out and it'll still fire. Even after it's been submerged in water.

Jackhammer or AA12?

Both are 12 gauge, both are fully automatic. The Jackhammer is a bullpup system, with the drum mag situated to the rear of the pistol grip, but the AA12 has a forward magazine.
