  1. I've been there before, being too skinny for my liking and wanting to gain weight. The feeling is even worse when you're a guy, and you got teased about it in gym/physical education class for being skinny, when you surrounded by all these brain dead "jock" types that naturally had the genes for increasing muscle mass. I spent my teen years thinking I'd never be anything other than a lanky, skinny guy, or in the extreme opposite my metabolism would slow down and I'd become obese. The truth was, it doesn't/didn't need to be either. I'm 184cm tall and at March this year before I started doing weights and eating heaps, I weighed 69 kilograms (152 pounds) and I was of course, fairly skinny. Now, I weigh 80 kilograms (176 pounds) thanks to a weight training regime and a really good diet. I'm not huge by any means, but I'm way less skinny than all the skinny guys/girls I know and for the first time in my life, I can look at my body in the mirror and not feel totally repulsed and disgusting. I actually feel good about my body now. The bad part (but it's also a positive) is that it takes A LOT of discipline to gain weight like that and make good progress. Binge drinking is a thing of the past for me (In fact, I haven't drank any alcohol at all for 4 and a half weeks now), I basically have to ensure I'm home everyday so I can eat well, which means I've had to say no to a lot of party invites that would have involved me staying over due to not being able to get home and I've gotta train hard and smart with my weights program. Yeah, I may have missed out on a lot of fun, drunken nights, making new friends, but looking at my progress in the mirror and on the weight scales, it's been totally worth the sacrifice and hard work. The amount you have to eat when you have a fast metabolism like you and I, is CRAZY. You may think you eat a lot, but trust me, if you aren't gaining weight, you aren't eating enough and I used to think that I ate a lot too, but I know now I didn't. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true, but fortunately even with a fast metabolism it's still possible to gain weight (as I and many others have proved). This may sound absolutely insane and will probably make a few girls in this thread feel really sick reading this but you have to eat in the order of 6-8 FULL, PROPER MEALS per day if you want to see any weight gain with a fast metabolism. This means eating every 2-3 hours each day, literally. This combined with a decent weights program (no, you don't have to look like a gross freak from doing weights, because most people don't, but it's the best way to ensure you can gain weight, look bigger, look healthier and more attractive without piling on too much fat), will get results. I realize this isn't a cheap option compared to the standard 3 meals a day either, but I can honestly say the money I used to spend on alcohol that now goes on extra food, is totally worth it. If you (or anyone else, for that matter) want any more info on this, more detail on how I got such good progress, feel free to ask me here, or in that message thingo in my member profile.
  2. Heh, I know the feeling. The last band a guitar and I tried to get going (I'm also a guitarist), we found a vocalist, a bassist.........but not a single drummer I asked was interested I ended up just giving up in the end, and now I'm back (as usual) to being another "bedroom" guitarist, argh
  3. I've never ever seen a band name thread on any forum that didn't descend into total sillyness and lulz. Spare yourself the pain of 2 or more pages of idiotic suggestions and just try to figure it out on your own. And besides, with only 2 members, a band name is not even a high priority anyway. A band name is something that comes naturally, just out of nowhere one day and you decide you like it, it's not a resolution you should force (asking people on a forum for a band name is a forced resolution I would think).
  4. Dig the flanny style. Thought you said you were giving alcohol a rest for a while, mang, or did the "I'm not drinking for a while" period end?
  5. Insanely fucked up stuff right there Really hope those boys serve/are serving time behinds bars for that bullshit
  6. No idea who Leone is, nor who Madina Lake are, but regardless that's totally fucked up. Wish a speedy recovery to him. While it shows courage and mental strength to be able to step in to try to help a situation like that, unfortunately you never know how it's going to turn out and it's generally almost never a good idea to take on someone considerably stronger/bigger than yourself. This shit is honestly probably 1/3rd of the reason why I took up weight trainings, so these kinda coward, senseless assholes hopefully will think twice about messing with me.
  7. Good! Haha. Yeah when I was cleaning my room I threw so much away that I didn't need. I even took out all of my furniture except for my bed, TV, and mirror.

  8. I'm a little late, cos I didn't go online for a few days, but Happy Belated Bday wishes msn
  9. Kailey > skate shoes.

    Hahaha, just kidding.

  10. Hahahaha! I definitely would if I could. Buy me tickets to Australia NAO PL0Z.

  11. Yeah, you should probably do that. Haha.

  12. Haha, it's alright.

    But how are you?

I was freaked out for a few days the first time I was in a car accident. I had to walk home from the scene too because my friend wasn't legally supposed to be driving me, so I had to leave quickly.

  13. Sounds good. Looking forward to new skins
  14. Sucks to hear about your bro being in a bad crash Yeah, I definitely hope he does learn a lesson. It's just so fucked up, some friends and I just want a ride home and we get more than we bargained for because my friend (I use the term friend rather loosely, he's really one of those egotistical, self absorbed, pretentious idiots you try to just avoid being around) decided it would be okay to toy with people's lives. I'll never understand the whole driving to impress your friends bullshit. Maybe it's a bit safer on a long, wide stretch of road, but seeing as how I live in a major city in the built up inner suburbs, there's all sorts of poles (and indeed he did hit a pole) and cars parked on the side of the road you could end up hitting. It's just fucking stupid and not worth it.
  15. Update looks cool. Not enough skin options though
  16. Nearly 5am now, just been in a car accident for the first time ever. Some friends and I were getting a ride home by a friend, just after a party had finished. Seemed all good until the idiot decided to show off and attempt to drift around the roundabout and lost control of the car, causing it to spin out, and then crashing into a pole with a metal box thingy attached to it, which dragged under the rear of the car after the pole was knocked down. The car hit the pole only about 30cm/one foot rearwards of the back passenger door. Everyone managed to get out unharmed, apart from me and one other guy being a bit winded. So I guess it wasn't so bad, but even just being involved in something like that really puts it into perspective into how much worse it could have been had he been going faster, or had been drinking (thank fuck, he was sober). Still kinda letting it all sink in and feeling a bit shaken up by it, but I'm okay and safe.
  17. Her music is bad enough that I'd want to avoid her
  18. I have trouble comprehending how Lady Gaga has any friends quite frankly.
  19. He deserves to have my urinate all over his face first. And then jail. I think that's only fair
  20. This is the only true Drake
  21. To my ears from some of the stuff I've heard from the new album, they're clearly a band that although still has retained that pop rock image, has a more diverse range of influences than the pop rock crowd. Hell, just the fact that Lost Tree exceeds 7 minutes proves that the band is more interested in creativity and artistic expression, rather than worrying about whether every single song on the album is going to be radio pop rock material and whether the attention span of seemingly 95 per cent of today's kids is capable of absorbing a song more than 3:30 long. Whether they actually listen to that kinda stuff, I don't know, but the band is at times bordering on progressive rock with their compositions (I'd go so far to say Lost Tree IS a progressive rock song) which is pretty much the antithesis of what pop rock bands aim to do with their songs where their aim is to generally deliberately keep things simple. That's not to say I don't appreciate simpler songs, but sometimes there is just something about a well executed prog rock song/song bordering on prog rock that can really own a simpler song and I think VersaEmerge manage to do this.
