In general, Richmond gets skipped because it doesn't have a good 1,000-1,500 or so person venue like the 9:30 Club in DC or the Norva in Norfolk. One of them is an offshoot of Toad's Place in New Haven, CT...the other one...I can't remember who's running it or the name at the moment.
