Andrew
AHAHAHAHAHA at Aiden McGeady Sent off for diving, oh the irony. And Wenger doesn't like Scotland at the moment, singling out Darren Fletcher for intentionally trying to foul his players on the weekend. Which by the looks of things was true, six fouls but no yellow card for Fletcher

No Bothroyd; he is pretty much our team. When ever he is missing everyone else plays terrible. Not to mention Newcastle are just too good for this division. Hopefully it isn't a serious injury because I can't see us picking up a lot of points without him.

RenegadeRoss
Transfer Deadline day today. The only thing concerning motherwell is the rumour of us losing Stevie Hammell to Dundee/Hamilton. Might be of interest to Matt... Celtic defender Darren O'Dea is to secure a short-term loan move to Reading as soon as he signs a new three-year contract with the Glasgow club. Wouldnt say he's championship standard if im honest. JJ Riot
8.29 Sky Sports sources understand Manchester City are in talks with Tottenham regarding a deal for David Bentley. seriously, why bentley is a good player why would he go to city apart from the money he will never get a game at City
Andrew
seriously, why bentley is a good player why would he go to city apart from the money he will never get a game at City I heard that Tottenham were interested in Martin Petrov, so a swap deal maybe? Hughes managed Bentley at Blackburn so maybe he thinks he can get the old best out of him again?
JJ Riot
^ yeah true, but petrov hasnt started yet for city this season, if bentley dnt get first team it would be a real loss to the league
Andrew
Okay, here's who I think Newcastle should look at signing: Nedum Onouha, Defender - Loan, Man City. Young strong defender, played with Steven Taylor at England U21 level, isn't going to get a game at City, but Hughes probably wouldn't let him go out on loan. Danny Shittu, Defender - £1m, Bolton. Experienced, fast, strong defender who's played in the Championship before. This is the only player to have officially been linked with a move to Newcastle. Onouha would be my first choice, Shittu probably the more realistic. Shaun MacDonald, Midfielder - £400k, Swansea City Young Welsh midfielder. Bring him in as cover. I mean Newcastle are guaranteed to get injuries, they always do. And with MacDonald you've got someone for the future, with some Championship experience and lower league experience. Benjani, Striker - Loan with a view to a permanent deal, Man City. Long shot this one, but he's not part of Mark Hughes' plans, they nearly sold him to Hull yesterday but he couldn't agree personal terms. I just think he could destroy Championship defences, regain lost confidence, play regularly, etc and if Newcastle get promotion back to the Premier League, then sign him permanently. Anyway back to the real transfer news: 12.21 Nantes striker Ivan Klasnic has admitted he does not know where his future lies amid speculation connecting him with a move to Bolton. 12.31 Portsmouth have signed Tal Ben Haim on a four-year contract from Manchester City, subject to a work permit, and have also confirmed the capture of Hassan Yebda on a season-long loan from Benfica. 12.45 Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh's agent has refused to rule out a late switch to West Ham, according to Sky Sports News. 12.49 Skysports.com understands Bolton Wanderers want to sign Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara. 13.03 Holland international Johnny Heitinga has arrived at Everton as he prepares to finalise his move from Atletico Madrid. 13.08 Swansea City have rejected a new bid from Wigan Athletic for Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde. (Fuck off Martinez ) 13.20 Sky Sports sources understand Portsmouth have yet to receive any offers for David James, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham. 13.22 Swansea will not look to push through a deal for Millwall defender Zak Whitbread until January as he continues to recover from a hip injury. 13.54 Skysports.com understands that Hull City and Newcastle are battling it out to sign Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood on loan. Also: BBC have their own coverage here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8227622.stm From the BBC: 1414: Official on-the-record chat from Manchester City - and it involves Tottenham's David Bentley. They say, wait for it, they absolutely will not be signing the midfielder either on a permanent basis or a loan. Their business this transfer window, they say, is done and dusted. Apparently just over £200m on 13 new players is considered about enough to launch an assault on the Premier League's top-dogs.
RenegadeRoss
"Big rumour in Nottingham that Sven-Goran Eriksson has convinced Henrik Larsson to join Notts County!" And seriously. Redknapp can fuck off. Spurs - Portsmouth B team. Edit: Motherwell boss Jim Gannon has completed the deadline day loan signing of Charlton Athletic’s former French U21 captain Yassin Moutaouakil. A right back. Exactly what we were needing. Well done Gannon. Things are looking even better now :D Double Edit: League Cup draw was made today for the 4th round. Inverness at home. Im happy with that
