  1. Totally agree! It's always a good sign when a band grows both in maturity level (not saying they were immature, by any means, quite the opposite, actually) and music. If they were complacent about one, the other would be affected. So it's really awesome to see them just develop as humanbeings as well as musicians.
  2. Aw, I love me some John Mayer. That guy can freaking play a guitar! It's cool to have him showing his support for Paramore.
  3. One of the best live shows in my history of going to shows... Sure I've only been show-going for two years, but I've wracked up quite a copious amount of 'em. And this show... slayed me so hard! I was so inhibited-- I was going nuts! Head-banging, dancing, and singing the entire time. Not so much as the suave indie kid I thought I was. Lol. And I think it's freaking awesome that they shared their biggest show in the history of their own shows with us Dallasians/Texans. That's really cool. XD
  4. Yeah, same with me. I'm kind of anxious to see the inside of this place, it looks pretty big in size... kind of like the HOB and Granada.
  5. I'm going with a friend. It'll be my first show at the Palladium. Does anyone know how big their parking lot is?
  6. FACES IN DISGUISE?! WOW! Freaking-A! I think I'm totally going to be letting loose during that song... I mean! Wow! I'm acting like a total nerd right now, I'm not gonna lie! Lol.
  7. Haha, that's freaking hilarious! One of my close friends dresses up as Darth Vader all the time-- it's pretty gnarly to drive around with him when he's wearing his mask because people totally freak out for a few seconds 'cause it's totally random and awkward. I think that the band dressing up is probably the best get up idea since the Yeah Yeah Yeahs playing in the dark and masked along with all of the audience. Man, that would've been a crazy show to have been at!
  8. They're pretty cool, but I'd probably think they were hella rad if they were white chucks.
  9. I'm 17 right now... but I'll be 18 in like two months... But I put 17 nonetheless. Talking about 17 so much makes me want to listen to Anthems for a 17 Year Old Girl by Broken Social Scene now.
  10. Fact: Queen Victoria was freaking short. I mean, she was like 4'11". If you ask me, she had to be the coolest short person since Napoleon Bonaparte!
  11. ^Yeah, every artist is emotional-- I mean, their music is their personal expression. But emo came about when hardcore bands started to take a softer approach to their music and some performers would start to cry when they performed a song that really meant a lot to them... Ergo, emo-core came around. And bands like SDRE and Jimmy Eat World became textbook definitions of bands that new, hard to define genre. It's kind of like indie... I mean, what is indie? Many people believe it's now a genre (another very hard to define genre) while others believe it's solely when bands are independent from major record labels.
  12. I disagree that "true emo" is gone. Jimmy Eat World just released their sixth album (Chase This Light), which is probably one of the best emo albums since 2005's Plans by Death Cab for Cutie and their last album Futures in '04. Many people get into heated debates about genres, which I do think is silly, but Jimmy Eat World is definitely one of the founding bands that really shaped what emo truly is. Until bands like Jimmy Eat World stop making music, that's when emo will be dead. Sure, we did have to wait for about two years to know that well written, well thought out, far from generic emo is still out there, but, if you ask me, it was well worth the wait.
  13. I would get it since I'm direly needing a yellow/goldish shirt in my collection of green (all greens possible, seriously), black, blue (all blues possible, again), and red band tees. I need some extra color brought into my crazy horde of shirts. Lol. But then again, I'll just buy merch at their show minus tax and shipping this shirt will have. So I'll be content with whatever's there.
  14. I do agree that bands like Jimmy Eat World, SDRE (I loooove Jeremy Enigk), and DCFC are great emo bands (they created the genre, especially SDRE), and that it's sad that emo has such a negative connotation, especially with those freaking amazing bands clumped into the genre. I think the emo persona these days (like the fashion and the people) have formed with this preconceived notion of the musical genre, which is kind of WTF worthy. I don't think Paramore is emo at all... they're kind of like NFG, rock/pop/punk... I don't think emo is a good category for Paramore at all, unless songs like We Are Broken and When It Rains are considered to off-balance that enough. I think many people just say Paramore is emo because of the 1.) the way they dress... but a lot of musicians these days were skinny jeans and rockabilly/vintage shirts, 2.) they have crazy-cool hair, which is another characteristic of many performers across the rock board, and 3.) because of their sound-- FOB was the first band of this age to be categorized as emo, which is why so many bands that are now reaching fame on the same label are being dubbed "emo". Doesn't make a lot sense obviously, but that's what happens when people try to fit a band into a particular sound without taking the time to actually know what the heck they're talking about.
  15. Mine's very boring... Truck key and house key. I always clip it onto a belt loop, so it can't have too many bling-bling-ins on it or else it won't fit in my back pocket. Y'know?
  16. Grey's Anatomy. I miss Burke and Addison.
  17. I love Tennessee! I haven't been there in forever and day, but I do remember that it was a gorgeous state. If your BD does make a stop in Franklin, don't have your hopes too high on seeing/meeting them because if you don't you're probably going to feel sad. And you shouldn't feel sad in such a pretty place. Lol.
  18. If I met Conan, I would wanna give him a big ol' bear hug too! He's freaking amazing! Plus, I would ask where he got his president mug from 'cause I want one! And, I love that they keep bringing up SDRE. Everyone needs to listen to them and own AT LEAST one of their LPs. I mean, c'mon! Jeremy Enigk's voice is like an angel's voice. Gosh, good stuff there.
  19. ^Yeah, I think some people are really dumb and they think that it'll be funny to throw their own gift at her face. Some people aren't in touch with their sixth sense very well... and when I mean sixth sense, I don't mean the seeing dead people one. Lol.
