Okay, you make yourself look dumb if no one else is laughing, but even then, you can dismiss it with "screw you, at least I'm having fun". I don't see the problem with laughing along everyone else at your own jokes. I confess I don't do that too often, though. I get told a lot about how my poker face is so powerful that people miss the joke completely. :/ Maybe a time to start laughing, or at least smiling, at my own jokes more?
