Ross
Needless to say, they are all pretty much classics. The Chronic and Straight Outta Compton are two of my favourite albums ever.
the1
I've heard great things about Nas and that Illmatic album. I'm excited! I feel like I'm discovering music over again lol
Ross
Oh yeah, Illmatic is awesome. But I'm more West Coast than East Coast so I'm slightly biased that way. As an aside, Jay-Z is like my hero.
the1
So whats the big difference between coasts? I've heard bad things about the South but I like what I've heard from Outkast
Ross
See to be honest, it's 6 and half a dozen. The main difference is in the beats and the lyrics. The West Coast rappers usually just rap about gangbanging and the ilk, East Coast rappers brag about their mad rap skillz. The West Coast was also famous for the "G-Funk" sound which is just having funk samples mixed through the songs. The East Coast tend to use snare drums and kicks more than samples. The South is just slower and probably more fun lyrics, usually about partying and junk.
the1
My fav lyrics so far are easily for the song Moment Of Truth- Gangstarr. You heard?Amaaazing lyrics and flow imo
Ross
Vaguely. I never really got into them.

Ross
Aye, that's a tune. Might give them a proper spin soon. All I've been listening to recently is Jay-Z mixtapes, Viva la Hova and Jaydiohead. Fairly decent.

Ross
Bump for the new Eminem album. Nice beats, good flow, shit lyrics. Didn't enjoy it at all, the dated lyrics hindered the album massively for me.
kwik-silva
^Why did you bump the "like rap/hip-hop" thread to say its shit? I've never even listened to Eminem properly
Ross
To spark discussion. The Marshall Mathers LP is immense. I'd recommend just downloading his greatest hits and see if you're feeling any of it.
the1
His new song sucks huge balls
Ross
Then you will equally enjoy the rest of the album. Eminem, now, truly is rap for people who don't like rap.
travel_hymn
I've never even listened to Eminem properly where have you been you can't avoid it haha

hubabalou
Oh man.... thats harsh, James. They're not that bad. I mean, for awkward white boys their pretty good. Plus, they put on an absolutely ridiculous live show.
PlzSpeakSoftly
^ i agree, people either love them or hate them. they are absolutly hilarious and like you said, they put on a killer live show. their music is just fun imo.
