Jonas Brothers look good live. From what I've seen.

It was murder, James. Murder. Their backing band, where all the music came from, were pretty talented. Had a suave bassist, think he used to play a lot of jazz music. Got that vibe from him. The actual brothers themselves were gash.

I think they just have to work on their singing and running around. They jump all over the place and then they sound like crap cause they're gasping for air.

Nick's a pretty talented kid. I'm waiting to see what will happen once his voice changes all the way.

And yes, they do play their own instruments live. Those kids have been working so hard to get where they are now. They're from a small town in NJ, and I've been watching them over the past five years.

As much as they might be "Disney crap", they look like they at least put effort into what they do lol

They certainly do. They started out on Columbia, and their first record's release was pushed back about 4 or 5 times (it was appropriately called "It's About Time" lol), and they played at high schools. Then Columbia dropped them, and they did their second album on their own until Disney picked them up.

Although Disney's starting to put out better artists now. Demi Lovato's also a wicked good singer. They're trying... I think.

Disney, well Hollywood Records, are unlucky that they have this "kid label" status attached to them. Now I can't confess to liking most of their current roster (aside from Demi Lovato and Queen (not the material they released on the label though but they are still signed to it, I believe)) but I think it's rather unfortunate that they'll instantly be disregarded, by most, on the basis of association.

^ Yeah, they used to have fairly "respectable" artists on their label, and when they started to go under and Disney took control, they kind of got the kiddie label to go with it.

EDIT: I love how they have Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus... Atreyu, Breaking Benjamin... lol

I wouldn't even pay 20 dollars to see sum 41.. saw them in 2001 and they still hold the record as the worst live band I've ever had the misfortune of watching

Well, that's when they first started their musical career. I mean, I have the live DVD from The Astoria in London, and yeah that's when they were totally punk, but now they've grown as a band. I'm sure you'd reconsider that if you seen their shows today as apose to when they began.

Plus, c'mon, you got to see them while Dave Baksh was still apart of the band!! Consider yourself lucky. ;-)

Booking agent takes 5-10% of show

Manager takes 15% (on avg) of TOTAL (typically annual) revenue. Part of that eligible cash is show dollas.

The Label takes varying percentages on almost everything UNTIL they've paid off their advance (money they got to produce a record; which the band uses to pay for studio time and get to pocket whatever's left over. This doesnt count towards the managers 15%).

After then throwing in all the misc jobbers that make a show happen, the band doesn't see much of it.

Haha, thanks for that. I knew general idea, but I didn't feel like actually going through my Concert Promo notes for real figures. :)
