Andrew 47,645 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Interesting on choosing The Incident, Andrew/ Monkee. I'm a big fan of In Absentia and Dead Wing, but honestly ended up deleting the new album off my computer because it just left me cold. Steve Wilson is a great musician (and so are the rest of the band) but the album really didn't do it for me:(I don't think Crack the Skye is Mastodon's best either (my favorite is Levithan) but it's still pretty freaking good, so great choice theere. To be honest I find myself listening to The Incident only in situations where I'm doing something else at the same time due to the length of it all. But I enjoyed it, especially Time Flies I thought that was awesome. The 59 Sound - The Gaslight Anthem. <3 That would make my list Wasn't that last year? Or is this the last 12 months rather than the year 2009? Good album though. Time for mine of the decade (as best as I can pick/think of right now) 2006 Arctic Monkeys - Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not 2007 Biffy Clyro - Puzzle 2005 Bloc Party - Silent Alarm 2003 Brand New - Deja Entendu 2005 Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison 2008 Cage The Elephant - Cage The Elephant 2003 Cave In - Antenna 2003 The Darkness - Permission to land 2005 Foo Fighters - In Your Honour 2004 Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand 2003 Funeral For A Friend - Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation 2005 Funeral For A Friend - Hours 2004 Green Day - American Idiot 2003 Jane's Addiction - Strays 2008 Kids In Glass Houses - Smart Casual 2004 The Killers - Hot Fuss 2003 Kings of Leon - Youth and Young Manhood 2008 Ladyhawke - Ladyhawke 2002 The Libertines - Up The Bracket 2003 Muse - Absolution 2004 My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge 2005 Paramore - All We Know Is Falling 2002 Porcupine Tree - In Absentia 2002 Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf 2002 Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way 2001 The Strokes - Is This It 2005 Trivium - Ascendancy 2004 Velvet Revolver - Contraband 2005 We Are Scientists - With Love and Squalor 2003 White Stripes - Elephant

lilley_1 4,375 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Franz Ferdinand - Tonight: Franz Ferdinand Really?! I've heard a lot of negative reviews for the album. Maybe I should check it out as I like the other two Franz Ferdinand albums. I'm going through my itunes and I'll pick out some albums i really enjoy as my picks: 19-Adele (2008) On Letting Go - Circa Survive (2007) (only one i own by them right now. plan on getting rest of their albums once i have some money) Origin- Evanescence (2000?) Folie A Deux - Fall Out Boy (2008) (one of my fav guilty pleasures) Take This To Your Grave - Fall Out Boy (2002) (see above) Extraordinary Machine- Fiona Apple (2005) Flyleaf- Flyleaf (2005) Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace- Foo Fighters (2007?) (enjoy all their albums to be honest but my favorite is Colour and the Shape which is too old for this list) Free- Gavin Degraw (2009) Breakaway- Kelly Clarkson (2004) Unleashed Memories - Lacuna Coil (2000) Halflife EP - Lacuna Coil (2000) Comalies - Lacuna Coil (2002) Three Cheers for Sweat Revenge - My Chemical Romance (forgot what year that is) A Fever You Can't Sweat Out - Panic At The Disco (2005) (another guilty pleasure of mine) All We Know Is Falling- Paramore (2005) Begin To Hope - Regina Spektor (2006) Perceptions - VersaEmerge (2007) VersaEmerge EP - VersaEmerge (2009) Mother Earth- Within Temptation (2001) i tend to listen a lot more than i buy as i'm generally broke and don't dowload for free unless i can't get it anyway else. a lot of my cd collection is based on artists i liked years ago. really need to update... but that also requires some mulah. edit: just heard commercial for new Pearl Jam album and it looks like I'm gonna need to buy it. sounds really good.
