OddEyedKitten
I'm reading "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time" by Mark Haddon Anyone have any recommendations, btw? Ever read "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde? It's a play, not a novel, but it is incredibly funny. I just finished "A Christmas Carol" and I think I am going to start "Wuthering Heights" next.
Jorgi
^oh good grief, wutheng heights dont do it to yourself it is pure torture im telling you i got some delightful books for christmas none of which i can remember but may include the new cecilia ahern novel how marvellous
OddEyedKitten
^ Really? I had heard it was a great book, but that high school classes suck the fun out of it. That's disappointing.
Jorgi
okay its probably because i'm being forced to read it by my english teacher i must admit, but even then im not sure i'd enjoy it it's like really stodgy a little bit unnecessary and the characters are fully unlikeable (i realise this is majoritally the point of the whole thing but i would still rather read a book that contain characters i can like)
OddEyedKitten
Oh, are you working on it right now for a class? I remember reading The Scarlet Letter in high school and loving it, but just wanting the teacher to stop talking.
Jorgi
Yup, part of my coursework piece. infact everything i'm reading for english lit right now is mind-blowingly dull, i am not down.
OddEyedKitten
I'm sorry. Is there anything better later this year?
Jorgi
Hahaha yes it's all your fault, how could you have solely chosen the entire curriculum for my course ?! unbelievable ! ...But no i doubt it quite a lot although i think we are given a wider choice later in the year for the actual exam which would be good, although the subject itself doesn't inspire me all too much in the first place. Ah well, c'est la vie.
OddEyedKitten
Haha, well then it was a sympathetic sorry rather than a remorseful one. Blah - there is nothing worse in school than a dull literature or history class. They drag on and on... I once had a teacher make Macbeth dull. Gruesome murders, ghosts, betrayal, witchcraft, and I just wanted Macduff to finish him off so we could leave.
