Hip-hop to me is Common, Lupe, Nas, Mos Def, Hieroglyphics, ect. &I think people get defensive when it comes to that. yes, and i really love Nas. Hip-hop certainly does not catch my fancy and there are a lot of things to pit against it just as there are many things to pit against rock music. Who cares? To each their own. Then you've got the Legion of Doom mixes, who do it so well. Then more recently Viva La Hova. Rock and Hip-Hop, if done well, has the potential to be huge. I'd fight him, I hate Hip-Hop, I think it is no form of music, that takes no talent to do. Anyone can use a beatbox and make up nasty lyrics, about their fake street cred, money, and their "women". So, yea you did the right thing. Everything is a no form of music. There's always going to be some acts within a genre that have no talent (read: Metro Station).
