  1. I don't think lyrics have to have a hook in them, or even a chorus. Depends on what you're going for, really, but familiarity and consistency can be implemented in the music itself and the lyrics can be let to express whatever it is that you want to express. A smooth stream of lyrics that goes For those Who used to be And now are In the dark Light a candle And say their name One last time Let them go We will follow When time comes To pray for life To begin again To eternity A flower will open On the grave can be much more powerful than something that's been specifically crafted to fit a format. As for the stuff you've already written, with the right music, it could be really good.
  2. Screw you Harry, Kid Rock has made one of the most badass songs of our time. > I really don't know what to think of this yet, sounds like it'll have something for everybody. :/ I'm still curious to hear what many of these artists will sound like when taken out of their "context", though, but these kinds of "all-star" -albums tend to sound gimmicky and not coherent at all.
  3. Throats will be slit and blood will flow like springs of water in to the River Red across the Ochre steppe etc etc etc... Anyway, what I was going to say, Leaving Through Window makes me laugh every time I listen to it nowadays. Amazingly consistent.
  4. I won't be satisfied unless the album is Saviour Machine -size in length. 17 minutes feels like 5 minutes with their latest EP for some reason, and I really don't know how it can still sound so fresh after so many listens, but it does. Usually time stops when I listen to music, but not with this band it doesn't. o.o
  5. I try to use the aftershave balm when I remember because it makes my skin ridiculously smooth. Excuse me now, old bean. I have other business to attend to. BLEND THE SCENT WITH YOUR BODY'S NATURAL CHEMISTRY, NOT WITH ARTIFICAL FIBERS FUK.
  6. For sure! I use Baldessarini from Hugo Boss as a deodorant, and it's g00d. And I don't smell it on every man that I come across on my adventures. Never heard of Bench, though. HINT: If you want to smell like a gentleMAN, try Thierry Mugler's Angel Men or Bvlgari's Pour Homme Soir. For special occasions only.
  7. Gentlemen, we have a problem. Who wants to admit spraying deodorant/aftershave/cologne/whatever on their clothes? IT SMELLS FUCKING REPULSIVE, DON'T DO IT FUK. Speaking of which, the last one I got for myself is Calvin Klein's Euphoria. Kinda fruity and sweet. I like it.
  8. o.o There's so many of them. Probably. But.
  9. Or layered like we have in some parts of this song? That would be br000talz.
  10. There's even more snow on the trees now. A strong wind is blowing the snow off the treetops so there are these clouds of powdered snow floating between the trees now. Amazing. o.o Oh, and there's also been an increase in wolf-sightings! Some people are actually demanding the state to arrange a school bus because they are afraid of wolves attacking their children walking to school. Starts to feel like the year 2911 of the third age.
  11. I think we should go with My Heart if that's what the producer is most willing to do since he's in charge of how good the final thing will sound:mrgreen: o.o I guess the Max Cavalera (Sepultura, Soulfly etc...) type of pissed off, half-shouting, half-growling is doable. No idea how good that will sound, though. I have to start practicing that... I could record guitar to a click track, but I'd much rather have the drum track to play to. So someone, start recording drums! And whoever else is taking part, we have to have a chat about the arrangement.
  12. I confess I made a choral arrangement of Decode where the altos and sopranos sing "how did we get heeeeere..." while the basses singing the chord tones go "twilight is gaaaay..." underneath... :/ I'm sorry. I haven't even seen the movie. But the choir sounds amazing. Peak of digital instrument technology right there.
  13. I used to have a bass when I was like 10 years old, but it's not here anymore, so someone else has to do the bass tracks (unless I use Guitar Rig to make my guitar a bass ). By they way, Reaper says I've been evaluating it for about 400 days now and it's still functional, so yeah...it won't stop working after that one month. We Are Broken, My Heart and BBBB suggested. I'd say we'll start with those since most of us don't have opinions anyway. Seeing how it's from BNE, BBBB is really dense arrangement-wise, but it leaves plenty of stuff for different people to play and I think it would be the most fun to record out of those three. My Heart would be interesting if one of our screamers will step up to the plate and do Josh's parts (self-proclaimed decent screamers, start posting audio!), but the Final Riot -version is easily done as well. There is just the fact it wouldn't need anything besides one dude playing the acoustic guitar and someone singing. If you guys want to do We Are Broken, I can play the piano parts to it, but that song is kinda stripped down as well (unless we do the Final Riot -version ) so that might not be the ideal choice. Harry, don't forget that I can go Donal Trump on your ass if you're going to be a faggot about the quality of the recordings. >
  14. Yeah, it's from my front door. Naturally the best part couldn't fit in, but I don't have one of those fancy wide-angle lenses or whatever.
  15. I was kinda surprised that the lowest parts were so difficult for the singer (sounds like her whole range is somewhere a bit higher than Hayley's), but overall, amazing! I'm jealous of your skills with the piano, not gonna lie.
  16. It's been the best winter in many maaany years! I can't remember the last time when the temperature would've constantly been between -15 and -20 at this latitude. I love it.
  17. I could deal with the sound, but I also have your face stuck in my eyes. Take it as you will:shifty: Maybe I should sleep for a few days...
  18. I bought a thumb pick and started to learn . I actually had to take a day off from practicing because my fretting fingers were totally dead after playing it for one day. I'm also looking at some Jerry Reed stuff, but that's coming along a bit slower since I can't do that country-style fingerpicking quite like he does it. Yet.
  19. This might be the first time I have a video clip stuck in my head. It's of Christopher saying "up in this BITCH"
  20. Even our little hunting community has the modern KitKats.
  21. Looks like I won't be using the computer much next month, so unless someone tells me what to play really soon, I'll be out of the picture for a while. The rest of you who advertised your playing abilities, you should now tell us if you are able to record anything. Especially you, Jedd, since you seem to be the only drummer around here. I have my ubercool classical rendition of Misguided Ghosts at the ready if anyone wants to sing it. Start throwing possible songs around gaiz!
  22. Shoot, I was so going to post "in b4 Harry", but alas...now I can only say that this is a great idea, and I'm in :hyper: Harry, I'm still not sure where my SM57 went, and I know your anal ear will pick it up instantly if I mic my 15W nuclear explosion with a condenser, so do you think it could work if I just DI the guitar signal and leave it up to you to get the tone that you want? What song first? I'll leave it up to the singer/singers to decide, because I know I can lay the guitar part down for any Paramore song you want, so it doesn't matter to me. I can play the piano too, if needed, but I know there are better players here for that. I want Jorgi to play the clarinet so that we can get a big band -thing going:cool:
  23. If I announce it to the world, will that make me unable to leave it unfinished? I don't know, but we'll see what happens... I confess I'm writing a song about...I don't know. We'll see.
  24. minkä takia mä en voi soittaa pianoa nukahtamatta sen päälle...
