Harry
This one time at band camp... Man, is even such thing as a band camp? Some purely American thing? Every time I've seen the movie I'd be like "WTF, these Americans and their weird variations of camps".

Kinda like space camp or math camp... hahaha

Harry
Well, that's one myth solved. There are band camps in Canada at the very least.

Harry
That's quite the playlist there. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh you have Burden in there. Goddamn that song has some tasty guitar solos.
SalsaC
It's on right now. Holy crap it's good. Guitar solos, synths, vocals, drumming, lyrics...
Harry
A lot of Opeth fanboys seem to shit on that song because.........well, it's a ballad type thing. Also rate my signature (that's my last FM list condensed into the top 50 basically). Looking at my sig, I almost feel I don't belong at this forum lol. SalsaC
Nah, you're just the one who gets bullied because you're weird. The ones that jumped at me were Sikth, Faceless and Wes Montgomery. Nice! It's not exactly like Opeth haven't done a ballad type song before. It is kind of breaking some new grounds, but haven't Opeth been doing that all the time? I just don't understand the shit Burden gets.
Eddbanger08
Can't see why, you've got Paramore listed there. Gheeze who cares? Metallers hate me more for liking Type O Negative.
Harry
Yeah, The Faceless rule. I only got into them about 2 months ago, Planetary Duality is amazing. Can you believe that album was programmed drums too? I didn't know until I read about it. SikTh, I used to not like cos of the vocals, but I got used to them and actually began to love the vocal style. Amazing song writing. Wes= jazz god. Harry
Can't see why, you've got Paramore listed there. Yeah I know, but it's like basically the only poppy thing in the whole list lol and there is some weird avant garde stuff in there too.
SalsaC
I didn't know they had programmed drums on that album. Have you heard Akeldama yet? It has some pretty damn machine-like drumming but I always assumed they just had a kickass drummer. Catch 33 and Ziltoid sound pretty decent with programmed drums as well. I loved Sikth's dual vocalists right from the start, they are both amazing singers! THERESNOAMBITIONTOLDFROMVISIONPRERECORDEDMAZEOFWISDOMBLANDTREETBLOOMAMORONICFEELING. Harry
Only thing I don't really like about Planetary Duality is the over use of compression in the mastering, but to be fair most people don't care about that stuff and aren't studying audio engineering like me, so they couldn't care less. As long as I don't listen to that album loudly, it sounds good, but it gives me a headache at high volumes, because it's so compressed. I think a band like Meshug can really benefit from programmed drums anyway, their music is the emotions of a machine lol. Man, You ever tried to play the riff from Bleed? That main, opening riff. SalsaC
With what, my feet? I guess I could try to play it with what I have, just to see if I can get the rhythm right...
Harry
The rhythm is easy to get right once you slow the song down with any kind of WAV editing program by about 20-30 percent. The part that isn't so easy is maintaining that riff at that kind of tempo, it destroys your arm lol.
